I've been training into bombers for quite some time, and I love them. I'm excited to see how the rebalance will affect bombers and med torps because right now, bombers require weeks of training to be very effective. The challenge is to maximize damage and minimize explosion radius. At current, that requires at least 8-10 skill levels in both med torp operations and upgrade, in addition to things like frigate command and defense for survivability. I can currently alpha strike for about 1.6k damage/volley on a 100 meter sig radius, so I'm not super effective yet considering most 100 meter ships have ~10k EHP. At the current balance, it's possible to get a T6 bomber to a 2k strike on an 80 meter target, but it requires 15 levels in both med torp ops and upgrade, as well as really expensive rigs and mods. I'm excited to see what they do in the rebalance of both the bomber hulls and med torps. And of course, target painters will take bombers to new levels. This is my strike build: Rigs: Targeting System Subcontroller Auxilliary Thruster Rigor Catalyst Calefaction Catalyst Low Slots: 2X Ballistic Control, CovOPS Cloak Mids: Warp Disruptor (soon to upgrade to scrambler) Webifier (placeholder for target painter)
Stealth bombers are awesome. According to the FAQ thread, torpedoes are getting a buff...and bombs will be added eventually too...so a good investment!
A well fit Hound Benzie! A very dangerous ship in the right hands! :) I usually use a Posse invuln on a speed tank like this instead of the shield booster.
Hey Benzie, I did Friends by Blood solo in the hound with AB + Frig Command at 5/5/5, make sure when you tank, to keep range at around 13km (your max range of the web) else you get webbed, and if you get double webbed you are gone :p Other than that, get those torp skills up, you can push over 300 dps with proper missile skills.
Hey im looking to do the scroll storyline missions also, is it possible if i have Frig Command at 5/5/4 & AB at 5/4? Im currently using a CNI but finding this too slow as I always have to warp away. I'm just looking at T8 storylines, you did a T10 somehow, how many times did you have to warp out and how did you deal with elites?
@@umirza I did it just as a challenge, it took me over 3 days doing it or over 4-5 hours a day. I warped out plenty, tanked elites at around 250km from warp in then once more stuff catches up, I reward from different angle. Once battle cruisers and battle ships are left, it's easy pickings. If you want speed go for Prophecy.
I got through with a Vexor Trainer a while back, wasn't paying attention until I was through the gate with virtual no HP and warping en route to a station which finished me off in short order.

Bombard mode also allows the hound to kite n kill up to teir 8 normal anoms with small missiles (not torpedoes) allowing nice max range of 57 ish Km range and smashes small ships and does ok with the larger ships till elites combine tank with module use. hence normal anoms. this of course may change post November small missile balance. Hi Captain! Greetings from Valhalla! Would you consider putting a flare catalyst rig to increase explosion velocity in place of second warhead calefaction? I'm wondering if this might be an overall benefit for the PvE fit as it may help get through the smaller targets a little faster.
I was persuaded to buy a hound after seeing the video Ecoundrel did on it, that velocity bonus is very handy as even when cloaked this thing goes around 6-700kms. I have my rigs slightly differently (I use the explosion radius reduction one along with the damage one), and I find a MWD more useful for disengaging when it all goes Pete-Tong though you have to be very careful with cap. I guess when my AB skill is a bit better I might go back to the AB and I do need to up my frigate engineering and command to really see the best of it. Do you know where the kill marks are on it?
Concord turrets got changed, I had the same whoops moment and yes, I made it to the other side of the gate, but I instantly got blown up on the other side.
Its actually quite hard to lock down a Venture 3 unless they are a few of you. Even with two scramblers that's not enough when the miner is fitted with a active warp core stabilizer. I find mining in null much easier since if you find a dead end system with no one in local it becomes much easier to track when potential threats enter the system.
@@blise518B In bombard mode using small missiles (and possibly one rapid medium launcher fitted) you can get ranges of above 40k so I am guessing he does this with a BCU.
@Captain Benzie: you have a lot of PG left, you should put in M Shield booster instead of small, personally I use the damage control as the fights that last longer than it's active time are not good for bombers anyway. Ideally you want to never be shot at, and if you won't manage to kill target before that it's better to run and bring more bombers for next run.
You warped through that gate because it was sec: 0.0. I think , that's why your criminal timer didn't get you obliterated. if it was 0.1+, it would be - kaboom :) I made that mistake once too. Was not cheap lol.
What were you up against? Medium rapid missiles are kryptonite to this thing so if you happen upon a Caracal doing an anomaly it's best to observe it to see what it's running. If it's rapids, run.
Stealth targets can't bring you out of stealth even if they are sitting directly on top of you. One person must drop cloak in order to bring anything else out of cloak
