The Metris engine is the m274, right!? Could you provide the part number of the spark plug used in this engine, the make and code of the spark plug. I assume it's NGK or Bosch?
Matris is perfect for someone like me. I live downtown Toronto because of work but want to get out of the city on Fridays for the weekend. How can someone in Canada own a Peace van? Do I need to buy my own passenger van and bring it to US?
It's now almost June, 2023 .. and three months ago you mentioned in a comment that you have something new in the works. Any details yet? How about a Metris type Peace Van build in a Ford Transit Trail van, with a pop top like the Metris Peace Vans... same interior options. 4 or 5 passengers... sleep at least 4 with a popup. The folding main bed on rails. The pup up bed platform overhead... all the same type of layout with optional cabinets and cooking stuff? A van like that with it's higher stance, trail ready, and MOST IMPORTANT TO ME, All Wheel Drive capability for snow, mud, crawling, etc. What say to that?
@@PeaceVans - Thank you for your reply. As much as I like the convenience offered by vans, I don’t want to be faced with the inconvenience of being stuck due to a lack of traction. Having to use 4X4 capability isn’t always a planned event, and it sure is nice to have when needed.
There's no crash test/certified pop top for it and same for any seat that would convert to a bed. It is a cool and versatile mini-van, but not a candidate for the kind of conversions we do. We have seen people graft pop tops on them, but it's not something we would do given our need to stick stringent safety and quality standards.
I have a 2015 4WD Sienna, converted and I love it. Great to drive cross country, waiting for Toyota to announce its strategy for electrification. No pop top on mine and my mechanic says its the sturdiest conversion he has ever seen as the subfloor is tied into the chasis welds. Problem is, the conversion folks can't really make money on Sienna conversions but if you've got a good carpenter and watch the UA-cam videos you can run with it. Eco Flow Delta works great in the van for space saving battery and solar.
Electric?? Thats the dumbest thing ever. Its going to be more expensive, it will cost business owners to put electric plugs in order to charge a van , takes way longer to charge. thats just dumb.
I don't doubt your conversion work is great, but the elimination of the the Metris could be a blessing. The vehicles are overpriced (before you get them) and do not perform as one should expect from a what is promoted as a high end vehicle. They're nothing more than an overpriced Astrovan with fewer features than Chevy produced nearly 20 years ago. I owned a Metris for 2 years and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Our experience is quite different. While there's no question the Metris lacks some creature comforts, we find the 2L Turbo motor and supporting engineering to be amazing. We have put over 400 on the road and complaints are minimal from a performance and even service perspective. We've also put close to 250,000 miles on the rental vans we own with similar experiences. With that said, the Astrovan was a classic!
Take an in-depth tour of our Metris full camper! ua-cam.com/video/gRRCkzPbcY4/v-deo.html
So glad I got one. Think they will be back as eVito. I wouldn't be surprised to see conversions of older vans.
We think so too. We expect that in around 2026. Glad you got one too - they are going to be pretty sought after
You have set up yourself for success in this space. I'm looking forward to EV van conversions including the Rivian EDV, and the ID BUZZ!
Sadly, the ID.Buzz as it's being launched is too small to be a camper. But maybe the cargo variant which will be in the US around 2026-27
Love my metris.
should i buy a 2016 Metris ? or look for a newer model …?

It is RWD with very low ground clearance.

We were alluding to new business models. Unfortunately, we won't be announcing any new small campers until the manufacturer picture is clearer.

Unfortunately that entire segment is getting killed off in North America.
Do you guys do any modification for other Minivans? Like Toyota Sienna or Kia Carnival?
We currently just work on the Metris, but have new things in the works! 🤐
Why not use the Toyota Sienna?

How much for a New Metris weekender (Pop top + seats converted to a bed, but NO kitchen stuff)?
Hi - It really depends. Usually around the mid-80s for the brand new 2022
They will support the metris for many years.....the USPS is buying 15,000 units.
45,000. The Metris will be supported for a really long time.
I hate em
@@fishjuice3987so you purposely searched out Metris on UA-cam, watched this video and then commented how you hate them? Seems like a great idea.

It won’t work at all for businesses. Far too expensive, infrastructure will be costly and a pain to manage a fleet.
just hearing about this new electric stuff makes me sick.
Booo…hiss…. It figures now since I’ve made up my mind now it’s done. Which means price goes up.
Not necessarily Stephen, feel free to reach out to us via email to see how what we can find and work out best for you 👍🏽
