Nice idea, will use the cable slot and backlight but change it so it's inside a cabinet for zero dust collection and the lights running only with the door open. Black coated copper tubing for holding the controller on a matte gray background and purple/blue backlight. I'm fully inspired now. Wouldn't have gotten to that idea without this video ❤️
A video like this is just what I've been looking for. I've been looking for a way to display my retro controllers and I'll be giving this a go for sure.
Nicely done gents! That turned out absolutely gorgeous. Let me know if your N64 analogue sticks get loose, there's a nice little method for rehabilitating them.
I'll dig one of mine out and put a guide together. It essentially involves using a fibre washer as a shim to tighten up the XY assembly and then lubricating with a little lithium grease. There was a guide on the net a few years ago but I can't seem to find it now. I've repaired a few over the years this way and they've held up pretty well.
that's really excellent, very well shot and edited too, not a dull moment! Inspiring, I'm gonna make my own display of controllers, maybe one long shelf
Thank you so much! We worked really hard on this so it’s great to hear feedback like that 😁 you definitely should! We’d love to see other people’s take on it 👍🏼
This is amazing ngl you guys really put alot of effort in this video I really like the design it's pretty unique and you guys are soooo underrated you guys deserve more
What? Such a great video guys! You pulled off a really great voiceover! Also you managed to keep the video quite chill to watch and not miss any step it took you to build this nice rack! :) Thanks a lot for sharing! :)
Man this is awesome. Need to get on making something like this for our entertainment area. Too many different consoles and too many controllers just in bins. Thanks for sharing guys! Nice edit too! (-Heidi)
Yes this was the first one we did with the intention of uploading and adding a voiceover. Thank you very much for the compliment! Glad to have you on board 👍🏼
Omg the detail on this is cool and greatly appreciated. I can tell you put a lot of thought into the build. Do you have an estimate for how many hours this project took? I’d be curious to know if this is your personal shop. I’m impressed at your array of tools. Are you professionals? I’d like to get into woodworking but presently have more experience with metalwork and simple builds for the stage
This one probably took us around 40 man-hours. And yes this is our own personal shop. We have built up our tool collection over the past few years and we are very proud of what we have. We are not professionals by any means but very much enjoy this currently as a hobby. Getting into woodworking isn’t too hard, you just have to have a project in mind - buy what you need specifically for that project and then expand from there. Thanks for the comment and your support!
I can see how it can be daunting when you see a workshop full of tools, but that does not make this any less of a DIY project. This can be made entirely out of pallet wood with only a drill, a jigsaw and maybe a sander. The tools we have have been collected and upgraded for almost 20 years. All they do is make the process faster or more efficient. There is always multiple ways of achieving a task, so instead of claiming you need too many tools to achieve this result, either modify the result to match the tools you have, or start by asking friends/family or looking second hand for tools that you can use.
I know you saw us use a variety of tools in the video but you really could build this with a few cheap tools; a drill, jigsaw and circular saw. Maybe a sander as well if you wanted to get a nice overall finish. Don’t let the amount of tools you have hold you back!
Sup man! Just one question. For the ps2 controller, what is done to the wires at the back side? Is it just left hanging or coiled to something? Would be happy for a response. ☺
Brothers Make so good that you did a bit to camera...do more of this...you are guys that everyone will want to hang out with. You will be glad to know that I sticker bombed your video...I have photos!
Prickly sauce Thanks for the feedback! Yeah we plan to always interact with the camera so glad to see it came across okay 😁 haha well thanks! Intrigued to see those!
At 7:20 your hand is waaaaay to close at the blade. While you are free to do whatever you like I would highly appreciate you not showing such risks in your videos as it encourages other people to do the same.
That 2 second shot was a top-down shot, so it really doesn’t give you an accurate perspective of how close to the blade we were. We were also using 2 push sticks, which made the cut very safe and controlled. Thanks for the concern but we aren’t showing anything dangerous here
Well done !! Now make 200’more !!!
jimmydiresta we’ll get right on it 😁
Jimmy u r here too?
Respect for not adding an extra second.
Nice way to store and show off those controllers!
Bear Maked thank you! We’re pleased with how it turned out

Nice work chaps 👍
Thanks Bart 😁
I have an interesting idea for you. Same project, except using copper wire to hold the controllers. Updating of course to include VR items.

Great to hear, thanks Jason - good luck with your project!
Nicely done gents! That turned out absolutely gorgeous. Let me know if your N64 analogue sticks get loose, there's a nice little method for rehabilitating them.
Jamie Reader ah that would be handy - a couple of them are a little loose actually!
Jamie Reader that would be great - thanks man!

This looks awesome. Do you have any plans? Such as templates for Xbox , Playstation, ninetndo logo that you laser cut?
Thank you! We don’t have plans I’m afraid. The logos we just made vectors from the real logos using illustrator
"DIY"
Step 1: get a whole workshop with all the tools in a hardware store.
I can see how it can be daunting when you see a workshop full of tools, but that does not make this any less of a DIY project. This can be made entirely out of pallet wood with only a drill, a jigsaw and maybe a sander. The tools we have have been collected and upgraded for almost 20 years. Hey, just wondering if you were tradespeople already when you started out? So much kit! Super jealous :D
Do you have a video of you making that TV stand at the end? I didn't see one in your videos, but maybe I missed it
A great 1st video! Looking forwards to the next. By the way, do you argue in your workshop? 😂
Mr Geoffrey Smith thank you! Haha no more than any other brothers! 😁
Where did you guys get the logos from? I want to make that as well :)
We just downloaded high-res images from the internet and turned them into line drawings using illustrator ☺️
cool...
This is brilliant too bad there wasn't any love for the snes genesis or dreamcast lol
OMG this is awesome..yous hould sell these. I can build it...I am just lazy right now lol. Ehh well I can't make the holders... :(
Thank you James! You definitely could build it! Would love to see someone else’s take on it 👍🏼👍🏼
@@BrothersMake I don't have good tools it would be very difficult to make :(
I know you saw us use a variety of tools in the video but you really could build this with a few cheap tools; a drill, jigsaw and circular saw. Maybe a sander as well if you wanted to get a nice overall finish. Don’t let the amount of tools you have hold you back!
Sup man! Just one question. For the ps2 controller, what is done to the wires at the back side? Is it just left hanging or coiled to something? Would be happy for a response. ☺
All the wires are hidden in the compartment behind the rack! 😁🤙🏽
Yeah, you got it!
Are you selling these?
Is there a site to order?
We don’t currently sell these but feel free to make your own!
Would you ever make one to sell? I'm intrested.
We don’t really have time I’m afraid as we’re always working on new projects and videos
What? No gamecube slots?!? How'd you skip such a glorious generation?
i have absolutely no wood working skills. would this work with say... cardboard? xD
Superstars

Sell me one!
Haha!
Please stop with the "DIY" that requires you to have a fully equipped $80k workshop in your garage. Other than that, nice job!
$80k 😂😂 almost everything we have is second hand from eBay and Gumtree!
