This is just my opinion and we know everyone has one.
I’d restore the silver car. Since they are getting to be worth money in clean condition. I think it would make a nice street FC
As for the 3 rotor car. I’d repair the chassis and just get some seat time in it. Drift cars get beat up so I’d get the most out of that shell before re-shelling it. It would suck you put a lot of time and effort into a new shell for something to happen to it, get the combo sorted out and proven while building a chassis on the side maybe.
As I said that’s just my opinion. At the end of the day it’s your car and you gotta do what ever makes you happy. Ultimately it will be cool to see what you do either way! Keep it up 👍

I would honestly say if sailor 7’s chassis is up to snuff turn that into the 3 rotor car, the current 3 rotors car into a missile/thrash car, and this into a super clean 2 rotor street car.

To remove sound deadening a super easy way is to get 10 or 20 lbs of dry ice, break it into small pieces and dump the pile on one section at a time. Then move the dry ice to the next area and hit the floor with a hammer. The sound deadening comes off and looks like it was never there. Saves soooo much time!

I don't envy your position right now, and then again I do🤣. You just got yourself that rare barnfind kinda thing. It's so good I can imagine this one is to clean to use for a driftcar build. And it might be the best thing to do an OEM+ restoration on this chassis. Like Adam did on his R34. And find another chassis for the 3 rotor. It could prove to be a great investment to go this route. A clean restorated FC could be pretty good value. So you got yourself into a pickle. From one project into 2. But it would make great content. So I think your hart is already telling you that this FC deserves a new life being restored. 😉 love and greetings from Holland.

Restore to street build and just enjoy the 3 rotor as is for now and then do a phase 2 with a new shell later down the line.
You've spent so long building that car up, its time for you to enjoy it rather than putting on the back burner for even longer. Plus you may find things you'd want to change in the new shell if you drive it now

Use this chassis for the 3 rotor. I would say have the 2 rotor from this car ported, the rotating assembly balanced, and then swap it into the NA Miata that’s in one of the buildings in the compound. It’d make for such a fun little compound shredder

my 2C though, you've got a super clean/strait shell, I think it deserves restoration into a nice street car (dare I say a semi-daily?) but hey, your car/project! cool to see more rotary content either way, doritos 4 lyf :D

So, I am not a huge FC fan but I appreciate them. To find one in that condition with all the original pieces, I just couldn't bring myself to do anything but restore it. I like both of your ideas for the car but honestly I would restore what you have. Obviously, it's your car and who is anyone to say what you should do to it but having a bone stock original FC next to your other two would be a cool progression of sorts. Just my $.02

I would restore it to street plus condition. I had a mint 88 fc na and rough 87 fc na. I wish i still had the first one because ac worked, power antenna worked, all the crazy alarms. I loved the looks i got driving that clean old car. RESTORE! With some nice simple upgrades for handling and performance.

that engine would go nicely with dowel studs and external oil mod, basically a resto mod fc, the 3 rotor street car would be a nice pair with Adams 4 rotor
you could just cut the bad cage out of the other car and use that as if you bash it up, it's not a massive loss of a car

No not another project you have like 5 of those right now. Lets see some completed projects before we start a new one. On a side note that rotor would be cool in the miata like I saw someone post.

You wanted a clean shell for the 3 rotor, and some parts for Sailor7. You got that, follow the plan. Leave the resto work to Tommy. Otherwise you gotta go find yet another clean shell.

Good to see you focusing on the Mazda's again. I'd restore this FC and get another roller to re-shell the drift car. Nothing wrong with having a nice cruiser.

There was an fc with sort of a wine red interior with red leather seats so of your going for the restore option that'll set it off really well

It must have been a Wednesday motor built at the factory...... Engine builder must have been in the Z-O-N-E! Fully Recovered from the weekend gone, not worrying about the weekend coming! Plus, The stars must have been in perfect alignment!
And the owner/driver must have babied it..... Thoroughly warmed up n cooled down during its operational life! Religiously maintained! For that engine to be in that prime of condition! Bravo Colette 👏🏆👏
Just an idea..... Restore this to original factory condition (factory looking but internally spicy engine)! And the other one Adam showed you, strip, acid dip, plate n reinforce, 3 rot' and just go FULL Neon Princess Racecar!
    🤔👩🏼‍🔧🏆🏁
😉Give Tommy FYeah a run for his money😁show him how it's done

congratulations on the new car purchase :D its always good to buy an FC :D btw thats a series 4, fc, not a series 5, or what you call turbo II, i think someone has just put the turbo II stickers on it lol, the best race car is a straight, undamaged, rust free car, being a series 4, i wouldnt worry about using it etc, put the 3 rotor in it, if it was a true series 5, i probably wouldnt, as series 5 are awesome factory looking, factory side skirts, front bumper, better interior etc, great for a road/street car.

Adam found one that wasn't good enough and this one is too good? I say it's a perfect home for the 3 rotor. You wanted to do the build right, this is how. Chase that epic FC dream.

They say highways create traffic. If there's somewhere to drive people will use it until it's inconvenient due to traffic. I think the same applies to garage space. You will collect as many cars as you can store. Good luck with that!

Hiii Collete!!! Love the videos and have been watching sense day one! Personally I think this FC you should build to be a street performance car but more so a touge mountain pass killer. Point to shoot suspension and steering perfected for handling, I think that would be super different and really sick to see compared to another widebodied drift FC. Do as you please as it’s your personal car but that’s just my opinion and think it would be so cool! Congrats and good luck on the build!!!

If I had to be honest this chassis is a perfect racecar candidate, and the body damage is what makes me say that. At least from how it looks on video the damage to that passenger side rocker seems pretty bad. Like weld in replacement sheet metal type of bad. Or just body filler and a lot of shaping but at that point IMO its not a proper restoration anyway.
Just my 2 cents, still an amazing find! Super fucking clean in terms of rust!

do the restoration in yellow with black interior and use the sailor 7 chassis for the 3-rotor build if that one‘s cleaner as the current 3-rotor chassis
