Great review man! It's good to see a Canadian gun guy on UA-cam that actually knows what he's talking about! Subscribed!

Hey Kris, great review (full disclosure... I gave him the gun!) and your dry sense of humor comes through perfectly. I totally agree your comments and like a whole lot of things appearance is a matter of taste. I also agree that when it works and works and works... it gets a whole lot prettier. I am curious about your retaining nut and I will look further into that. I am a paranoid choke tightener myself and I have not had my Engage (multiple turkeys, a bear, and several squirrels down so far...) come loose so I will look and see if possibly there is something odd happening. Last thing, the Engage is now available in camo as well as discrete(!) black to make it even more suitable for turkey/bear/deer hunting. Thanks a ton and looking forward to your next podcast and review. Phil

I think shes a gorgeous gun.

She's certainly unique, lol! I'm not too much on her looks but I have to admit she runs like a hot damn. I really enjoyed testing this shotgun.

I purchased a Canuck over under and there were problems after only two rounds! Worst customer service ever

That sounds very odd. Odell Engineering is pretty well known in Canada for exemplary service. Are you saying it was bad customer service cause you had problems after 2 rounds, or because they didn't fix the issue for you?

    Good day sir...great review.
Would you be able to elaborate more on this gas system that is being used?
Most sources claim this to be an inertia driven gun, but I do see something that resembles a piston in your review...do you think it might be some sort of a hybrid combination of both systems?

    • @bs_podcast

It is a gas piston driven system. I'm not sure who has said it's inertia driven, but I definitely took apart a gas ring and piston when I had this shotgun.

      Thank you sir...much apprecciated.
There is lot of misinformation out there.
How do you find the recoil to be like in this one, compared to say a Canuck Operator?
It looks pretty lightweight with that skeletonized wire stock.

    • @bs_podcast

I found the recoil with this and the operator to be similar. Neither is particularly oppressive. The engage seems skeletonized, but most of the weight reduction is on the rear, and didn't seem to affect felt recoil very much.

Thank you very much for taking time answering my questions.
The Engage sure looks the Mad Max part..lol
Probably the only negative that I noticed thus far is, that should you chose the "violin method" of reloading after the barrel is hot, the alluminum shrowd is cancelled in the exact spot that you would need it most to act as a heat shield...at least that is how it appears from looking at it.

    • @bs_podcast
      @bs_podcast  2 роки тому

That does seem accurate, yes, although there's a lot of other shotguns that would be the same.

Hey thanks for the post! Any chance u have some a review on canuck operator? Maybe a side by side compare of engage and operator? Any issues with side saddle mounts or one more reliable than the other?

I have an operator now that we are testing and will release a review in the future.
