I think it is an exaggeration to say that she was one of the most important designers of the 20th Century. I have often equated her as Britain's answer to Coco Chanel for a younger generation. She was not as revolutionary as Chanel, Schiaparelli, or Yves St Laurent but made a significant contribution to 60s fashion.
One would think that rather than difficult buttons, Quant might rather have used snaps to close her dresses. Were snaps even a 'thing' back then? It's too bad our current 'future' didn't match the wild imaginings of those back in the 60s!

I had a real thing about red shing raincoats from a early age! Must have been influenced by Mary Quant, I was born 1957.
