Chris is a once in a generation singer songwriter and storyteller. If you didn't know he has written hit songs for several other artists collaborated with, hell everyone of all music genres.
I 100% agree. He's just so good. He has an amazingly unique voice and style, and his writing is masterful. I'm not even a "fan" of country music, in general. I can appreciate and enjoy it when it's done right, but it's not my "favorite", by any means. That being said, I could listen to this guy all day. He is genuinely a rare breed of artist, entertainer, and poet. A real stand out among a crowded field of beards and cowboy hats. I've got nothing but respect for the man, and I'll be a Chris Stapleton fan till the day I die. There are very few country artists, new or old, that I can say that about.
I watched an interview with the both of them, and the interviewer asked his wife something along the likes of how she handles his singing. Morganne said his singing is why they have 5 kids!
I love this version of the song, because I can concentrate on the song, and I get a different meaning from it. Morganne is amazing with her harmony. I have a hard time watching the music video without getting emotional. Makes this grown man cry every time I see it. I have seen so many reactors watch it and be left in tears. Not saying I want to see you cry, but you should watch it. Its even more powerful than this version, and the message hits home. Thanks for your analysis.
Chris was the first concert i went to after Covid. it was worth the wait. just hours of amazing singing and story telling. cherry on top Sheryl Crow opened and i had no idea that she was until she came on stage
I adore Chris, but I wish more people would mention that Morgane not only matches him, she has to be so in tune with where he's going that she sees when he's going to go ad-lib and be prepared to adapt. I love, love, love him! Do yourself a favor and go watch the video for this. It's the only song that has a produced video and you'll see a different side of the lyrics and how they support a message of mental health awareness. Great job - I love watching your face as you discover new music!
Morgane is great but the reason Chris gets more attention is because we have never heard a voice like Chris' but we have heard similar voices to Morgane but that shouldn't take away how talented she is or how hard she is working to sound great next to Chris, Chris just has the best voice I've ever heard.
This is a great song, and a lovely performance. I love seeing Morgane performing with him. But this song goes from a sad song, to a heartbreaking one with the music video.
You should do an analysis of “you should probably leave”. Such a good tune! Would love to hear your tips on his technique! Love your stuff and learn so much!
My 92 year old mom gave Willie Nelson a lesson on how to project. THIS guy doesn't seem to need any help with that. She wasn't a vocal coach. She was a drama major at Baylor U. in the early 50's. She was directing a play that required a band to be on stage, and she found Willie and his band performing at a local Honky-tonk. She convinced them to perform in the play, but in addition to playing, Willie also had a few lines of dialogue. My mom was dissatisfied with his delivery during rehearsal, so she poked him under the ribs while saying "No, no, no. From the DIAPHRAGM." To this day, she STILL complains when I don't do things her way. 🙄😂
Please please please listen to his early stuff with the his bluegrass group The Steeldrivers, when he left the group the second singer sounds just as amazing
This song hits different with tge video but if you watch it be warned bring tissues. He made tge video to bring awareness to mental health. Its powerful to say the least.
Some artist just sing the lyrics Chris sing the emotions and you can tell because you can feel every word he sings...Example George Jones sings Tennessee Whiskey he makes you think bar and what is going wonderful artist... Chris sings the same song and you can taste the burn of whiskey as it is going down and the sweetness of the brandy...
This calm, collected style and changing the phrasing got me thinking you might want to look into Amos Lee. Something on the slower side, like What’s Been Going On
You should really consider hearing and doing a reaction video of Chris Stapleton singing Bullet left the Barrel with the Jompson Brothers you will be even more impressed by his vocal abilities in this band
Chris Stapleton if incredibly soulful. I would love to hear a Zach Bryan review as well, who like Chris, their music transcends well beyond their genre.
His voice is very emotive and comforting to me but as you said, so neutral. Kind of a neat juxtaposition. I don't know if you've heard of the band Nightly (they're an indie pop/alternative band) but I would love to hear you critique Jonathan Capeci's singing. He's got such a unique and pleasant voice. Some songs: Radiohead, Time Online, On Your Sleeve, No Vacancy, About You (collab with NOTD), STAY, and there's lots of others. Their music is seriously underrated in my opinion and I'd love to hear what you think of Jonathan's singing.
the MV is a better venue to watch this .... its all about perspective the words of the song are great but the what happens in the Video is what makes the song .. without giving to much awa it is essential to watch the MV having said that the song is very beatifull but the words have nothing to do with the Video content .. at least from what I remember
I bet most ppl will be happy if you react to "The HU" the Mongolian rock band wich means traditional throat singing, especially Song of Women feat. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/mdN1U9NvuIc/v-deo.html
I'm sorry I like Chris song Tennessee whiskey but this one is too raspy and nasally for me. The song seems to drag. I'm sorry but he has a good voice but this song doesn't do it for him
Chris is a once in a generation singer songwriter and storyteller. If you didn't know he has written hit songs for several other artists collaborated with, hell everyone of all music genres.
Chris voice is SO REAL... its affecting, arresting, intention-ed.... he brings lyrics to life.
I 100% agree. He's just so good. He has an amazingly unique voice and style, and his writing is masterful. I'm not even a "fan" of country music, in general. I wish people(like yourself) would give props to his wife. She has an amazing voice and compliments his beautifully. Love your channel.❤❤❤
I don't know if you are aware or not but that is the wife and mother of 5 children that sings with him. She is a fantastic singer/songwriter herself
Agreed! Their harmonies are so tight. ❤️
Yes! And I completely agree. Morgane is a phenomenal singer/songwriter/musician/performer... all the things!
I watched an interview with the both of them, and the interviewer asked his wife something along the likes of how she handles his singing. Morganne said his singing is why they have 5 kids!

Absolutely love when his wife sings with him and I think if you saw the video of this song it outs it in perspective. Great react as always!

I wanted to say the same about Morgane. Her pristine voice is the perfect complement to his grit and she matches his lines and inflections perfectly.
Morgane is great but the reason Chris gets more attention is because we have never heard a voice like Chris' but we have heard similar voices to Morgane but that shouldn't take away how talented she is or how hard she is working to sound great next to Chris, Chris just has the best voice I've ever heard.
His voice is like warm hug.
Wonderful reaction. Came across you channel and will be searching through any other Stapleton reactions you’ve done.
This is a great song, and a lovely performance. I love seeing Morgane performing with him. But this song goes from a sad song, to a heartbreaking one with the music video.
