Thank you for the testing information. I only hunt old white tails and bull moose and they tend to spend most of their “ on feet” time in the dark. Will thermal allow me to see the antlers well enough to judge size and quality?

If you can get close enough without spooking the animal you very well could make out the majority of the antlers. Obviously the Moose will be easier than the whitetail. But I would say you need a spotlight for that. Check out my other videos using my JZ T30 spotlight. The JZ T30 is about $500 and only single axis syncing with the gimbal. The CZI GL10 is closer to $1500 and has two-axis gimbal syncing that might make it easier to use if your target is moving.

Awesome footage man. I appreciate all the advice you give while you're making your videos. I had a question for you, I just picked up a mavic 3T not too long ago and wanted to see when you're searching for deer what is your temperature range set at?

      Great question,
You want to be set on the -4-302F(-20-150C) range. You can tap the range to switch between the narrower and wider ranges. You also want to be sure isotherms are turned off(go to the color palette menu, tap on the icon at the top that looks like a thermometer, turn isotherms to off). Let me know if that answers your question.

Making a short and revisited this comment. I really appreciated this comment so much. I always try to share what I’ve learned while making these videos…means a lot that you noticed.

How high above the animals are you? The picture is really clear and they seem not to even know your there.

Just depends. But the closer the better. Try to rely on the 7x optical zoom and keep the digital zoom to a minimum. The drone makes the least noise if you don’t make sudden moves, starts or stops. So if you approach gently and get them used to the sound, they don’t get startled. Likewise if you fly gently by they also don’t seem to care much.
