Strengthening Aluminum Flag Pole

- My aluminum flag pole sheared off from high winds so I reinforced it with galvanized pipe. I used fast setting concrete as well as regular setting concrete and mixed them accurately with water in a measuring bucket.

I did about the same thing you did, my pole bent from the wind down in Florida. It was easy digging in the sand so added rocks to stiffen it up.
You are the only good UA-camr that I’ve seen I can actually understand
I just purchased a 40 foot pole and watched videos of breaking like that ...the pole is 11 gauge and I put PVC pipe inside and then a smaller PVC pipe maybe over kill but the lower 2 sections I sprayed that expanding foam.... and mostly for looks Im putting 4 chrome chains from the lowest section and anchored to the ground....lmk what you think I'm about ready to put it up soon

Why Is The Cleat Is Way Under The Ground?
Because the Amazon driver hit the pole and bent it over. I cit out the bent part and this is what I have left.

Curious - what are you doing to mitigate the galvanic corrosion between the steel insert and the aluminum pole? Unlike metals don't always play well together. ;)
Yeah, I mentioned that. If the metal pipe insert was stainless steel I wouldn't use it. Even with the carbon steel insert, I mentioned that the pole was painted and that there shouldn't be any contact between the two metals.

You have to learn by doing when it comes to this kind of stuff. I would offer to work alongside an electrician or someone who does this kind of work. That's how I learned most of the things I know, by learning first hand from others.
