Being able to use multiple skills without having to worry about getting 6L gear is such a huge improvement, I hope they lean into these skill combos a lot, that could distinguish PoE2 from 1 a lot in a good way.
In a way you'll still worry about getting a gem to 6-link, since without it it'll be lacking some support gems. But yeah, overall it will make builds a lot more interesting and open up some more freedom. Plus, 6 linking a gem is done through a tradeable item, which means that you don't have to look for a specific 6-linked gem but just for the item and 6-link anything you want.

I'm liking the direction that PoE2 is taking where they want you to combo together abilities and mechanically outplay bosses, as opposed to just overwhelming enemies with raw damage from a single ability. Now of course, extreme-damage, low-input single abilities might still be most optimal in the late game, which would be a shame, but it's also the kind of thing that makes PoE1 so exciting to play. So I'm curious to see how it works out in PoE2
I think the fact that things combine well will help a lot, one of the reasons why it doesn't work in PoE1 is the maximum of 1 (or 2 if 2h weapon) 6-links u have, so even though you can use a clear speed skill and a single target one, its usually better to stick to one. I hope the multiple 6-links and added value for combining stuff will be better but we will have to see in the long run

It all looks against all the things that current core audience of the POE loves, but everything about POE 2 looks really genius. POE2 looks like the next generation ARPG and I hope it will get a lot of recognition and success. Devs already explained that POE will continue to exist so their core audience should still be happy and probably will have their beloved stuff back in the game, like determined craft of the old days and variety of melee builds.
I'm kinda worried builds are going to feel like other ARPG's where you feel limited with skill choices and are forced to use the obvious interactions or your build is bad.
based on how it looks to be set up it shouldn't be. there's confirmed about 240skills and the "combos" here are generic elements like "shout plus slam". you'll probably have around 6-8 shouts and 8-12 slams. probably a dozen different channeling skill options. lightning storm could probably be replaced with several dozen options although how many would be relevant to the druid setup will be more restricted obviously. the volcano's power scaling with slams though does look a little too nutty. it's hard to imagine there will be much to compete against that if you're running slams.
Me playing PoE1: Yeah I just hold spacebar and my character teleports around instantly exploding the entire screen and killing bosses in fractions of a second, it's so fun I love picking up loot Me playing PoE2: Fuck, I died because I forgot that using Ancestral Slam next to a heavily chilled enemy empowers my next use of Celestial Spear against bleeding enemies who haven't been knocked back recently, that would've granted me an elemental aegis for two seconds which I can expend to gain a power charge that I can use to fortify my off-hand shield while I'm in golem form. I'm a moron for forgetting that and I deserved to be one-shot. Time to clear the entire zone again.
Guys, i've played Poe for awhile, Diablo's and a lot of other ARPGs, but everyone must recognize that the team in charge of PoE development is WAY, WAYYYYYYYY ahead of everyone else. They understand what the community truly wants, they build in depth systems that works, giving huge space for player customization, they DON'T CHARGE for players to play, just if they want (bonus), but the game is not PLAY TO WIN (and if it went that way, it would fail)... So they are just way ahead of the game and it's amazing for the players. I don't even play video games anymore but I had to comment here...
This looks incredible. You're truly delivering top-notch quality. I have rooted for this second instalment for years and you did surprised with Exilecon, which was an enourmous sucess even for a nich community, with an amazing event full of fun things to do. 2024 feels so far away now! Now, I kindly suggest implementing a change. Let's seek an approach where we don't have to rush towards a fast-paced, flashy endgame. This current speed in Paty of Exile (1) often result in a whirlwind, where the beauty of the game's graphics isn't fully appreciated. Hopefully the quality you've worked so hard for is not being sacrificed on the altar of min-maxing.
The interactions between skills that you keep showing off in these teases for PoE 2 are everything I've wanted. Also, that you've added skill gems like that roar that lets you use cries, that's cool. I can't wait. I'm eager to see what the full kit will be for the Druid. There are so many possibilities but in so many games you end up limited because Druids traditionally can do so much that developers have to pick and choose. But this is GGG, I can see you all just making more and more skill gems and skill tree options for years to come. Just don't put alternate forms in the shop. Skins, yes. But don't paint yourself in a corner by putting forms in there and then realize, oh we could just put that on the skill tree or in a gem.
i sincerely hope the game remains somewhat close to the pace shown here. i understand that at higher lvls you'll probably be way faster, but man the combat looks just perfect as shown here. i guess you'll be zooming around the map just like in poe 1 though, but i really wish the game plays more like in this showcase and the ones during exilecon. some people call the gameplay "slow", but i guess if you're teleporting around the map at instant speed everything else seems slow...
@@gemelwalters2942 the problem with the PoE1 I have is that it's actually suboptimal if you have to mash buttons in the endgame, it's preferrable to mash 1 Button of Doom. I just made a comment not to compliment a game that basically needs no introduce, but to also mention what bothers me with poe1. Sometimes i feel overwhelmed by information and there is so much reading inside that personally exhausts me after a point. also there are things that feel extremely complicated, such as combinations on skill tree and the use of gems. I strongly believe that if you make poe2 less complicated this will be "the" game of the new age. Competition may be high indeed, but the freedom i mentioned earlier is something that is appreciated from each and everyone. Also thank you that you take your time and not releasing a game at beta as a ready game just for cash grab. Amazing. This is a dream come true! Despite PoE having such a great customization options, itemization, game mechanics, etc., great combat experience was always kind of lacking. I'm so glad you're going this direction with PoE2 and even exceeding many expectations. Thank you.
This looks so good. More videos like this please!
Omfg I can't wait, this all looks stellar AF!! Been playing the first one for so long, this looks like a really substantial upgrade! 🙏🏾
Oh yes! cant wait!
And Please make the campaign good, we gonna stick with it for years to come
Can’t wait for a slower version of the same game? 💀
@@stu.chainz dude it's not same game. we can do a different gameplay style with poe 1
Actually just don't make the campaign mandatory for every damn character we make throughout a season.
@@aaronh248it is going to be guaranteed, been that way for over 10 years I highly doubt it will change now
@@stu.chainz Yes? PoE 1 is a damn mess, they need to hit the rewind button with PoE 2 which it seems like they're doing.
This is the best Implementation of "giving the Players actions meaning" Ive ever Seen in any Video Game Not Just the arpg genre
That looks actually insane, holy shit. Im completly sold now, this looks like a up to date Diablo 2 LoD!
5 and a half weeks away and its finally in Early Access. Hopefully.
Probably the best looking Druid I've seen in any ARPG to date.
looks really sick 🐻, can't wait to watch the Necromancer Gameplay💀
poe1 already has necromancer
this game offers so many possibilities
I can't imagine how difficult it is to develop such a thing
you are heroes guys
This is a lot easier to follow then the one earlier, appreciate this you guys.
Yeah they didn’t make the other one. That interview was a bad idea, but luckily they released this right after.
all this druid shape shifting / timing on abilities based on hind legs or all 4s stuff feels like you guys are really evolving the formula - it shows thoughtful design.
omg this is crazy and you dont even have to load every persons inventory in the game and you actually employ people that play the game they're designing, im in. cant wait to play this game
And you don't need the super-low-drop-rate Tempest Roar
I will enjoy people overhyping PoE“2“ and then realising it’s not made for them.
@@canisinumbraDont want damn casuals tarnishing my experience, so hopefully so.
@@Enskyed tho i still hope for a proper SSF orb drop rebalance, along with those skills rework to make so you can really enjoy any skill ever, not just meta without FOMO.
@@MrKozlosPL I wouldn't, unless they don't let you switch to soft cuck league.
Wow, this is going to be so fun because you are going to be able to learn all kinds of ways to play every character. I personally love to experiment and that's actually why it was was fun for me to learn the 1st game over the last couple of years. Can't wait for this game!
Druid looks like it does more than 17 damage 😂👌
And no Tempest Roar needed
I really love the mob design from Goblin with Skeleton Head armor to that Behemoth thing. Looking forward to play this game :D
This is so much better than d4 bear form.
My God man..GGG LET US ALL PLAY ALREADY 😆
Even in the most remote corners of our world heard this sound.
It was PoE who slapped Diablo4.
No, it didn’t.
Bear roll in town is 10/10 😂
Also, glad to see they included a stun bar in this version of the demo
Either they listened to feedback or didnt have it ready for exilecon
Good to see 🎉🎉
Insane. The only word that I can say: Insane ♥
Just wanna say that the booth at Gamescom was pretty cool, also really nice team there. Was nice hanging out at the Lounge and talk for a bit!
Great showcase! I would actually prefer to be able to dodge roll mantaining the bear form though, even if it looked silly to some.
There might be a way to achieve that considering the bear rolling in town at 13:31. If they put in the work to make that animation it should be for more than just rolling around in town.
At the end of the video you can see the bear do something that looks like a dodge roll so there might be an option for that
@@LikeGodzzila If i'm not mistaken, they said they kept the roll at Towns, but outside of them you go back into human form.
There is a unique item that lets you keep the form even after a roll
@@MorbidEel They said before that they decided to keep It only at town because it looked kinda silly, but at least the animation has been made already. Hope they add the option.
I love the little drummer mobs. They're doing their jobs so enthusiastically.
Bear form looks great!
yeah another bear in another mmo rpg, like they cannot transform into something else like tiger, turtle or rhino.
druids from games are like a r3tarded tribe with only 2 transformation knowledge, come on ...
@@Dar1usz*ARPG* and we’re getting tons of forms which have been confirmed and shown years ago. Different cat forms on the beast master ascendancy and they also said in towards the beginning of the video Bear is one of the forms for Druid. Plus bears are fuckin cool
i been playing bears as druid since 2001, and as i can see nothing changed@@Lapeepee of course why to show other transformations, bear will be enough cause diablo 4 sucks so players dont mind play another bear for another 10 years.
where they show any of other transofrmation, just curious to see what they did@@Lapeepee
@@Dar1usz u did not look the video right ? or even the last exilcon were they talked about shapeshifter form right ?
It all looks against all the things that current core audience of the POE loves, but everything about POE 2 looks really genius. POE2 looks like the next generation ARPG and I hope it will get a lot of recognition and success. Devs already explained that POE will continue to exist so their core audience should still be happy and probably will have their beloved stuff back in the game, like determined craft of the old days and variety of melee builds.
thank you GGG for just making a bear and not a man-bear
Well, we also have werewolf.
This game is a love letter to gaming. Thank you
Jesus man.... I need this game 😮
Daaaammnnn. Now thats a Druid! Great Job.
13:31 BEAR ROLL!
It's always surreal hearing my native Kiwi accent on UA-cam lol. Looks dope af
The Volcano Skill looks original Like diablo 2 druid 😅
Loved the bear roll at the end xD. PoE 2 looks very promising, I can wait to get my hands on it.
I'm kinda worried builds are going to feel like other ARPG's where you feel limited with skill choices and are forced to use the obvious interactions or your build is bad.
They said that the volcano combos with any slam skill. There's a ton of those.
first class showcase is Druid...
you guys know exactly what you did there
..love it lol
Looks sick.
I hope the skill combining won't be too forced though.
based on how it looks to be set up it shouldn't be. there's confirmed about 240skills and the "combos" here are generic elements like "shout plus slam". you'll probably have around 6-8 shouts and 8-12 slams. probably a dozen different channeling skill options. lightning storm could probably be replaced with several dozen options although how many would be relevant to the druid setup will be more restricted obviously.
the volcano's power scaling with slams though does look a little too nutty. it's hard to imagine there will be much to compete against that if you're running slams.
The druid we deserve! Can't wait to see more animal forms
Me playing PoE1: Yeah I just hold spacebar and my character teleports around instantly exploding the entire screen and killing bosses in fractions of a second, it's so fun I love picking up loot
Me playing PoE2: Fuck, I died because I forgot that using Ancestral Slam next to a heavily chilled enemy empowers my next use of Celestial Spear against bleeding enemies who haven't been knocked back recently, that would've granted me an elemental aegis for two seconds which I can expend to gain a power charge that I can use to fortify my off-hand shield while I'm in golem form. I'm a moron for forgetting that and I deserved to be one-shot. Time to clear the entire zone again.
Bruh real af
Guys, i've played Poe for awhile, Diablo's and a lot of other ARPGs, but everyone must recognize that the team in charge of PoE development is WAY, WAYYYYYYYY ahead of everyone else. They understand what the community truly wants, they build in depth systems that works, giving huge space for player customization, they DON'T CHARGE for players to play, just if they want (bonus), but the game is not PLAY TO WIN (and if it went that way, it would fail)... So they are just way ahead of the game and it's amazing for the players.
I don't even play video games anymore but I had to comment here...
Jesus Christ, i have a family and a job! Why you don't want me to take care of them?
Blizzard punching air rn
Was very disappointment thinking we couldn't be rolling bears in town, but then they go and show it right at the end. Nice.
PoE about to SHIT on the D4 druid by making the same thing just 10x better LMAO
like poe always did xD
@@louloucici78what it never did.
The huge delay on preforming an attack after transforming seems like peak ruthless design. Very counter intuitive to PoE, Thanks.
i sincerely hope the game remains somewhat close to the pace shown here. i understand that at higher lvls you'll probably be way faster, but man the combat looks just perfect as shown here. i guess you'll be zooming around the map just like in poe 1 though, but i really wish the game plays more like in this showcase and the ones during exilecon. some people call the gameplay "slow", but i guess if you're teleporting around the map at instant speed everything else seems slow...
the speed is fine to me. POE1 is there for those ppl that just want to mindlessly mash buttons
@@gemelwalters2942 the problem with the PoE1 I have is that it's actually suboptimal if you have to mash buttons in the endgame, it's preferrable to mash 1 Button of Doom.
Funnily, I always tried to make a build in PoE which relied on using several skills simply because I find using only 1 skill throughout the whole game way too repetitive.
I love PoE, but PoE 2 is much more what I want out of an ARPG. I love the emphasis on making the action more fun and complex, and the improved animations. Overall it just looks a lot more fun to play to me :) Can't wait!
D4 Bad

Baseg holyyy
Hi i am new player at poe but a veteran at another similar game. i gotta admit poe has huge potential and it is exciting indeed that you can play whatever you want the way you want, i've never seen a game that has no limitations to playstyle and spells. Also the new graphics in poe2 and animations look great!
The age of hypers will cease sometime, but alteast for us the normal people let us have a great game to enjoy.
whether i will play the game or not, i appriciate your effort and hard work, i am sure you will have huge success regardless because you follow the correct steps.
You forgot to mention that there's no bear sex in PoE2. Could easily grab a bunch of BG3 players.
I like the change of pace and interactions between abilities
goddamn Diablo IV < POE 2
can't beleive I wasted my money on Diablo IV
1st Monk was really impressive and now this is on another level... This game is going to be the next step in ARPGs.
PLEASE read ALL the negative feedbacks on D4 and WHY people hate it so much. Blizzard DOESN'T really care about feedbacks. To me, that's HUGE, FREE, TOP advisory board from professional players with years of experience which Blizzard discarded nonchalantly. ALL U have to do is to NOT repeat D4's mistakes and this game will a SMASH HIT!
