- OUR BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN A SPECTACULAR LOCATION IN CORNWALL// Hello lovely people, You know how we love to romanticize our life! We are back from our trip to beautiful Cornwall where we travelled to film a lot of content! If you're looking for romantic holiday cottages in Cornwall, you will LOVEYou will love Callie's Cottage because it's set in the most spectacular location at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth (it all belongs to English Heritage)! Pendennis Castle is a fortress built by Henry VIII to defend the country against invasion. When it closes down to the public in the evening, you have the whole place to yourself and we couldn't recommend it more highly! It's also the perfect base to explore the South of Cornwall. This is the first part of our trip and we will share a lot more! Hope you enjoy! Kirsten & Joerg xx

You two travel the way I like to travel....no rush, no crowds, comfortable accommodations with kitchen, strolls in gorgeous gardens/sites with a lovely meal somewhere at the end of the day...sublime! Hahah you don't see everything but as I do UA-cam full-time, it can get very stressful in between with filming and running around to get as much content as possible so very often we don't have time to sit down and breathe or have a meal but it's not part of this channel and we try to make it the best experience for you all and everything else is behind the scenes. “Quirky Bird applies to me as well” 🤣🤣🤣 I love comparing the coast of Massachusetts to the coast of England. So many town names are copied. Falmouth and Truro being two of many.
Hahah love it! Oh absolutely, so many town names in the US are copied.
And, Sandwich is only 16 miles from Falmouth, England. Guess the Brits loved those names when they established their new homes in Massachusetts.

Love your cottage! We stayed at Cadgwith Cove for our holiday in Cornwall. The highlight was Friday night at the pub when the fishermen sang sea shanties, which has been happening for hundreds of years! We live in South Australia and they sang "Bound for South Australia" for us! We will never forget it!

Cornwall is beautiful! For those who love this region, I recommend the novels of Kate Morton, especially The Lake House and The Forgotten Garden.
Oh how I wish The English Heritage organization would hire you to decorate these little cottages and film tours (with Joerg providing history). So obsessed with you guys from Chicago 🥰

I honestly think you both should become tour guides! You visit the most enchanting places and you know how to appreciate it all. We've seen England through your eyes and we are spirited away from our own surroundings. I sometimes forget where I am when I am watching your videos. You are very good at filming, I must say. You don't go too fast and your shots are not too close or too far. I LOVE how you both notice the details of living. That's where happiness lies! In the appreciation of the gentle things of life that are so warm and comforting. You are both gifted at this and I am so pleased to be able to see your videos. You both seem like such lovely people!
The cottage, as a building, is beautiful. I'm not crazy about the modern decor. I hope you both had a good time.
The decor at English Heritage cottages is more modern, they have basically the same interior everywhere. Completely different to National Trust cottages. Our own style is very different as well but we still really enjoyed this place.
What a magical little vacation. The cottage, the private garden, the fortress, and the views are indeed spectacular! Falmouth is such a pretty town too.

What a lovely cottage, and it has it’s own garden! I love that English Heritage let you choose a replacement when the other cottage had that off smell and I love that they left a basket of Cornish products for your to try. It's funny, I live in Sydney and was particularly taken with the shots of the harbour of Falmouth! And then you said the fact about it is the next deepest harbour after Rio and Sydney! Must look familiar ;)

Spent 3 days at Carbis Bay on my first trip to GB in 2008. Cornwall was calling to me after reading so many novels set in that area.

What a lush trip, scenery, history and the products. And could practically feel the much needed temperate breeze, it's been boiling here in DK as well.

Beautiful cottage next to wonderful Pendennis Castle and Falmouth which is where my mum is from and we spent our school holidays at my Grandmother's there🤗. Falmouth used to be the main shipbuilding port because of its deep water. My grandfather was a shipbuilder in Falmouth pre- and post WW2. Then when the shipbuilding industry in Falmouth declined, in the 1960s, the Falmouth shipbuilders were offered green cards to go and live in Vancouver, Canada and work as ship builders there. That is also what my grandfather did. My grandmother stayed in Falmouth. So there are a lot of Cornish men in Vancouver.
Pastys were the tin miners food. They ate down the mine and couldn't wash their hands. So they held the pasty crust, while eating the pasty. The crust became contaminated with arsenic from their hands, so they threw the pasty crust away.
The Cornish Tea Smugglers Brew is a company that mixes its own teas, but the tea isn't grown in Cornwall.
You should definitely try real Cornish grown tea from the Tregothnan Tea Plantation.. Which you can also visit.
The Camel Valley Vineyard is the largest in Cornwall and has some delicious sparkling wines.

This cottage looks so inviting. Drone images are at its best as always. Clotted cream is my 1st choice ( now curious to try out other stuff) in that bag of goodies. Castle visits recall our visits to Edinburgh castle and Colchester castle museum.
Roddas is my favourite clotted cream now that I’ve been to Cornwall!❤️😋

You were only 40 min from where my aunt and uncle live (southwest overlooking St. Michael’s Mount). I haven’t been able to visit England to see their new house, but it’s nice to see the beautiful surrounding area in your video. So glad that you had a wonderful trip.
There is a lovely boat trip from Falmouth to Truro, you may have taken it. Sometimes you will see quite large ships up river that have been 'parked' for a while. You would never know they were there from the coast.

Hi, I live in Cornwall and have done since I was born. My dad was born in Stratton. His mum and dad never used to empty the teapot and would leave the tea leaves in there for days, just adding a bit of fresh tea each time. The pot would sit on the Rayburn and would only be emptied occasionally. When my mum first met dad’s parents she knew nothing of this tradition and washed the pot out, giving it a good scrub. They looked at her like she was crazy and committed some sort of sin. How embarrassing for her first meeting with them however, they knew it was not her fault as she came from awaysaways, which is a long way off in other words. She lived in Hampshire which must have been like a million miles away to them. They used to call the tea ‘foul moth tea’ because it was like tar coming out of the pot!! Mum thought they had called it that because it was packaged in Falmouth. I have a sister who lives at Penryn who looked just like the woman with the case when you were looking at the ferry. Another sister is in St Austell, another one in Stratton, another one in Bude, another one who passed away and another one who lives in Stoke-on-Trent. I live in an old marketplace where they used to bring murderers to the guillotine, how grim is that eh? I love Cornwall, I wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else but I love the rest of Britain too. I hope you got everything you hoped for from your trip and more xx

What a charming cottage.! The drone footage shows how gorgeous the area is. Really sweet little town, the flags flying over the street was so nice, loved that. I'm with you about the view the people have from their blue windows, must be nice to look out over that every day.

We loved Falmouth too. We stayed in an old mill farmhouse is Falmouth... lots of character and crazy adventures, but not as lovely as your accommodation for sure!
