OUR NEW TRAVEL CHANNEL: www.youtube.com/@kristina_explores First official episode premieres on the *9th November* 🥹🥳 And here’s the discount for the Power Hat (perfect Christmas gift) thanks to our sponsors EcoFlow: bit.ly/3A36Tvy
Keep this channel don't split it. It is still Kristina's travels weather you are on a boat or what ever else you use to get there, It is the journey you both take us on and the stories you tell that are compelling and keep us coming back for more. If you split you will divide you attention and efforts. Keep it all in one place build this brand you have going.
Personally I'm happy to see all your stuff on one channel - I'd imagine it helps with the analyitics having all your eggs in one basked to and sailing is basically travelling :-)! If you are going to split If I was you I'd keep this as Kristina's travels and then have Kristina Sails as the other channel (plus more chance of sailing views (who are your majority) migrating over... Love all your videos! Very sad that Turkana burned down, boat fires are really dangerous and quick, people don't appreciate how fast they can burn. Glad that they managed to get another boat!
On the travels channel I’d be really interested in John’s travels as an airline pilot added also. Obviously he can’t film everything for safety/security reasons, but even just a random day in the life whilst you are working the 1 month on. The places you go, the rosters you do, what’s expected of you, travel tips. I’d even be interested in what suitcases you recommend, chats with staff etc. Maybe just 1 video from within each month your working.
Personally, stick with Kristina's travels and scrap the second channel. It will spit your audience and crash your analytics. No offense John but she is the talent as they say. People are following your adventures whatever you are doing or wherever. Part of the fun is wondering what you are up to next. There doesn't have to be a continuous story arc. Just say "we were going to Dubai and got bumped so we went back to Sardinia for a week' and run with it. If you are going to sail from the rock to Fatu Hiva you can play it up as a teaser for weeks that there will be a 7 episode sailing adventure. Best of luck with it.
Agreed, it sounds like decision is made but staying with one channel makes it all encompassing - travel as in the name, whether by boat or plane or car. Additionally, videos, coming out consistently is the way to maintain viewership, which will be twice as hard with two channels, if you combine on one channel, patrons as well as regular subscribers, will have entertainment that they can count on to be consistent and dependable.
It's so wonderful to see new content uploaded. You're travels inspire me so much. So sorry about Tucana. Personally, I love both sailing and travel / sightseeing. You both seem to be having so much fun and that's what makes it such a pleasure to watch. You can call it a job, but I don't think most people actually love what they do, so when that happens, it's not so much a job, as a calling. Love you both and looking forward to the future with you both. I'm now subscribed to your second channel.
I must be unusual… because I couldn’t care less if the exploration video series was boat based or land based. No need to split to two channels as far as I’m concerned!
Personally, when sailing channels start branching out into other areas I tend to disengage/unsubscribe - I have other channels for that, I follow sailors for sailing
I wouldn't split your channel, I'd just care less about negative online comments. Sailing doodles has 676K subcribers, glamping doodles has 50K (is that even worth it?), and flying doodles was taken on by someone else. I'm not really sure it's worth dividing your attention, what you're doing now is working :)
I love both, but I must be honest, I really love watching the boats sailing in Ocean and seeing the lighting rain storms. I also like watching the sailboat sailing near a commercial cargo ship & oil tankers! I do like seeing the different beach's, cities and restaurant. The locations I like to see are little controversial. IE Vietnam, Cuba, Israel, Russia, drakes passage, the cape horn, Bay of Biscay, The South China Sea. I really love the Jeanneau yachts 55 . I hope to see more Monohull sailboat, not really in to catamaran. All your video are great, looking forward to next ones regardless. Thanks for the videos.
Really enjoy your travelogues. Have subscribed to your new channel. You have good taste when choosing which parts of the destinations to show us. I appreciate the value options too. John, you have great patience and make yachting look more straightforward. Keep up the good work. Perhaps the Carribean, Panama Canal and Mexico next
I found Kristina’s Travels years ago well before you started sailing. I think the first one I saw was the Camenito Del Rey video whilst researching the hike - then I obviously had to watch all the other travel videos (I’ve watched a few several times) I’m not here for the sailing videos (even tho we have a boat in Australia and recently bought a catamaran in Europe) to me your content is more of a travel show, what people want is information I’d say the successful ones are the ones that show people how to do or what to do … with a little smattering of personal stuff so people can connect to you. See how the new channel goes - I know quite a few channels that run multiple and they cross brand them.
12:30 I will follow y'all wherever ever you like. That said, it's not always about your choice of material, it's you, your light, Joy and enthusiasm, that make me want to watch, and of course the hope of taking y'all to dinner some time. "Cheers"
The Tobago Cays are amazing- it is where I earning three of my ASA certifications. A couple of the islands saw tremendous damage from a hurricane recently and they are busy rebuilding. They are amazing people and I expect they'd love people featuring their islands to promote some tourism.
Yessss 😍♥️ Love this idea! If there’s one thing I want - it’s more of your adventures 🫶🏻 SUBSCRIBED! Can’t wait to watch the new episodes and watch your new channel grow. Proud of you for trusting your instincts and going for it 🥰♥️🌸 Love you!
Hi Christina and John. Sad news about Tucana. It felt pretty nostalgic given that boat was what inspired me to explore the whitsundays in my own. Thank you for the memories. All the best on your new adventure and look forward to following along. Much love.
@KristinasTravels Fantastic! My wife and I are headed there in January, (Our first trip post-retirement) so we will be fascinated by what y'all show. 👍😊
OMG, you guys. 😱 Had no idea you were that far behind. Doesn’t matter. Have loved your channel from the onset. You are both fun, good looking, great attitudes and great vibe between the two of you. Also love having Kelly (sp?) along for the sailing ride. Actually, could be any third party, yet she played a part in the Jeanneau 7 week series. You two can travel anywhere as you also are teaching us boaters (yachties) tons of details of boats, ports of call and other country processes and where to get this and that. 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for that. See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞
Hey guys - good luck with the new channel - I’m sure it will be a great success. I will toggle between both. Look forward to your new travels and sails. How about sailing the west coast of Africa, particularly Cameroon and Sierra Leone-being equatorial the topography is unreal. I spent my early years living all around the west coast and can attest to the most amazing scenery, beaches and people-do it! Also I have a feeling 2025 will be the year John proposes to you - just saying🙏😘👍🍷💖
Cheers Tony!!! 🤗🙌 Yes, I hear you about Europe. I really want to attempt to get my Greek passport at some stage.. tempted to live there one day - or at least for the Shenghen!
KEEP POSTING HERE! People are here to see you two and UA-cam makes it a pain in the A$$ to follow our favs. So starting a 2nd channel just makes it harder. Plus you two just make more money on 1 channel. Just my thoughts…. Keep having fun!!
Thanks so much! We've gone back and forth about the idea, but it just feels right! And we can't wait to have a place to upload all our travel shenanigans now haha! Cheers Sanders!! Now we just need to come up with some names for the channels.. any ideas?
What will the other channel be called? “ Back to the Future” ? Split the channels, cross pollinate them. You might lose some viewers, but most will probably just subscriber to both channels. (Who on UA-cam subscribers to just only 1 channel?!). Next sailing ideas: Tierra del Fuego, Argentina up to Brasil. (During summertime in the S. Hemisphere, of course.)
Thanks so much Jeff - legend!! And great name idea 😂🤣🥲🙌 Love it! And WOW! I’ve never considered sailing in those areas before 😮😮😮😮 Are you from that region?!
Here's an idea. Could your next sailing adventure be a loop of the world? So many wonderful places and cultures to visit. Probably in a catamaran for comfort but that's your call.
Sailing wise, what about Canada? I miss Breaking Waves' content from when they were back home and the scenery is amazing there. The sailing itself is interesting there too.
Love you guys and I’ll definitely be a subscriber to both. I’d love to see you guys do some colder weather sailing like Scotland /Ireland or British Columbia. Or maybe do the Great American Loop if you want to drop the sails for a bit.
Hi Jared, thanks so much, appreciate it!! You'll make the slow burn of starting a new channel that little easier :) Oh, Scotland would be a dream.. John's grandad is Scottish, so it's close to home! The GAL would be insane too.. something to look forward to!
I maybe a bit old school, but I don't really mind that you only have one channel. Whether the content is just about sailing or travelling, it's about you! You guy's make it interesting, and you visit great places, that I would like to see. That's what I like! but will follow you either way. If it works with 2 channels all good.
An exciting and groovy episode. Why can't you do a combo Sailing and Travel channel as one. I mean you short of do that already now. Sailing from place to place. It seems to me these days the hardcore sailing channels seem to spend more time fixing something on their sailboat than sailing. The brand new sailboats really need a lot of fixing. You guys are so fresh and fun and of course, cute, why not just sailing and tell cute stories along the way,. You could call your new show, MR FROG LIPS 69 WITH THOSE TWO CUTE KIDS AND THEIR MAGICAL ADVENTURES ON AND OFF THE WATER AND SOME TIMES IN THE AIR. What do you think?
i think it is a very bad idea and here is my motivation for my statement. First of all, it will cost you more time (like having two kids instead of one, not that I have this experience). Secondly, and more importantly, for advertisers and potential sponsors, one large community is much more interesting than 2 or maybe even 3 little channels. The income you will lose is something you should think about versus the extra time investment (risk/reward). Just create one big channel, name it appropriately covering all contents and create playlists for the viewers to be able to find their choice of content.
Is it “Smiko” or “Smicko?” Regardless, I appreciate Kristina’s efforts to make not only informative videos, but her dedication to excellent videography. Girl’s got chops in that area. While I’m not sure of the wisdom of splitting your efforts into multiple channels, I’m going along for the rider the ride. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!
4:16 that’s a common complaint i hear, it’s almost like “boat people” shouldn’t be allowed back on land, i keep thinking “it’s not freaking water world, get over it 😂 “ But a common complaint, not enough sailing then if people are only sailing or showing that, it’s too boring for non sailors..
Guys, I love both sailing and travel, so you had me at "hello" as either channel will interest me. As far as suggestions for new places to sail, have you considered the Turkish coast? One of my favourite places. Keep up the great work. I absolutely love your videos. :)
If you're talking about the west, the Aegean, that was Greek homeland and they were pushed into the sea, so that would be a bit inappropriate I think.. edit, unless they label the locations with all the real original Greek names
Thank Kristina & John for the updates. This was actually a real good video and my condolences to your old boat. I will definitely check out and subscribe to your New Channel. cheers
I would love to see you guys crew a Nordhavn or some sort of trawler. It would be great to hear your experience and comparisons. Also maybe some boat walkthroughs.
Great idea, i love the idea of two channels, but the other comments are correct, Kristina makes the show, sorry John but she's gorgeous, just dont release videos every 3 weeks, need weekly!!
If you're splitting the channel for the algorithm, that's cool. I would subscribe to both channels. But my opinion would be to keep one single channel. I've come to like the story of Kristina and John, regardless of your method travel.
Thanks so much for being here through it all mate :) Cheers for your take too! It seems a few people agree with you, we'll see how it goes for a bit and if the travel videos go well on the new channel. The algorithm will most probably push them to the audience that's more into travel too :)
Well that wasn't the surprise I was expecting. If you will pardon me putting it that way. Anyway, I'm here for the sailing. And on most channels that stop sailing, I stop watching. But my wife and will definitely continue watching your other adventures, no doubt about it.

Well said about the channels split. I mean it’s both of them together as a travel channel.
Agree, just keep your current channel
Agree!

Hello Y’all. I just joined your new channel. Thank for letting the Cat out of the bag. Have fun and enjoy every moment with your new adventures. ❤

Don’t split the channels. Just alternate the videos.
You need to go sail the Gambier Islands in French Polynesia. Nobody really goes there but mint as.
Great I will follow you thanks for the ride!
Thanks Luc!!!! Legend 🙂
I rarely see sailors travel from the Canary Islands to Ascension Island, Saint Helena, Tristan da Cunha, and its surrounding islands.
Looking forward to you new adventures! awesome video quality BTW. Are you buying a new boat? if so, bigger? catamaran?
You are both amazing. Keep the great content coming.
Subscribed to both now
When you are back in Aus, did you move back to Melbourne? If so, be nice to catch up with you both for coffee.
Y’all have an excellent vibe and Kristina’s editing skills are next level! I think y’all have a bright future no matter your route or destination!
Thanks so much, so nice of you to say! ❤️ Cheers for your support, KC x

Hi guys. I have been following you for a long time. I would stay with one channel. Love you guys a lot.
More channels = more popcorn 🍿 That works… 😎🤪🍾
You should come to Turkey on your next boat tour
If you’ve not done it yet I wouldn’t split anything, just keep it Kristina’s Travels
I subscribed to the new channel. Now im also an Av geek & i would like to see a day in John's life as a pilot. Just saying
Poor Tucana.
