The main problem however is that upon discovering your fantastic channel about a week ago, I'm missing all sorts of writing deadlines due to my addiction for your travels. But thank you guys - your channel's a masterpiece.
Oh, this is so beautiful. Thank you for your heart, vulnerability and love. So grateful to have you join us here and at this exciting stage of the trip! Sorry about the deadlines!!! Haha 😝 What are you working on? :) x
Hi Kristina - I'm an Animation Director/Writer working on a new script that involves sailing through Indonesia - hence the initial stumbling upon your channel. Having entertained the socks off me, you have raised my consciousness to a more fundemental approach to life and living it well. So while I merrily miss deadlines, both I and my movie will be better for experiencing your adventures with you! Best - Chris.

By the way krys have youve ever been in a commercial about Melbourne technology or something?, becuase somehow i just reconiize it was u, very nice voice i love it, ❤ really song to my ears🤗24:06
I just found your channel, I wish you the best for your crossing and to fix your issues and avoid further major ones during longer crossings. Just for boiling water, put a lid on and there is no problem, these have still been very calm conditions. When you have 3 meter waves you will not cook anymore ;-)
Great video, did you know you can clean the speed wheel sensor inside? You can draw it out on the inside and there's a winter plug to stop for leaks in case the vlve is not working to well. (it should close, but does not do well when dirty. Then just clean the wheel and put it back, without any diving. btw it only measure speed through the water, not boat speed over ground, so you can calculate current. other than that its kind of useless.
Hey Walter! Yeah it’s just that it’s new and I had a preference for not having to clean the mess it makes inside the boat. 😂 it was easier to do it in the water. Yeah it’s not critical but we were heading off on a three day sail, so preferred that it was working. Speed through water is also used for calculating true wind angle, which is obviously useful 👍🏻
I found it amazing your reaction to a fire fighting plane. But hey I wish I'll live in a place where I wouldn't have to know what it is. It would mean that nothing burned to hell every summer.
You’re so right! I’ve never seen a fire fighting plane land or take off on the water before - I didn’t even know that it was a fire fighting plane! It was more the sheer reaction to how loud it was and how close it was landing to us! It honestly was just SO close - unbelievable! I’m so sorry about the fires 🔥🙁 I’ve reported on many in my time, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking - the devastation and heart break! These pilots are heroes! 🙌

@@KristinasTravels ah, I thought so! The first sailing channel I started watching was Sailing La Vagabonde.. did you ever meet Riley and Elayna? Thank u Kristina!
I thought y’all had air conditioning on this boat!? Is that only when you’re plugged in at a marina I assume? Being from south Texas I couldn’t sleep on any boat if it’s not at the very least 70°F!! Hats off to you guys!!! 😂
Yep, that’s it Paul! 🙂🙂 or we can put on the generator. Haha, and yes, totally feel ya! And add on the humidity - it’s a killer! 😅🤣 Bring on the ice 🧊🍹
Yes.. it can be a risk! You can put trackers on them though.. and Police can catch up with the offender :) Or others buy locks. When we sailed in Australia we always used a lock a marinas we would tie up to
Does the boat have no antifouling? Too late now but you should absolutely be on Jeanneau about the boats EPIRB and presumably the AIS not being operational because it has no MMSI, the cost of reflashing the AIS and registering another EPIRB would have been nothing relative to this sponsorship. I hopped between Sydney and Broken bay while I was waiting for my MMSI and I didn't like it and that's only 16 nautial miles. I can't imagine cruising around the Mediterranean without one. Especially relatively shorthanded like you guys are.
Hey Chris! It’s a brand new boat, so straight out of the production line 🙂 We’re so grateful to even have this opportunity, so no complaints 🤗 It’s about to go to its new owner! The boat only JUST gets it’s name as we sail back to the bay, so I’ll reveal what it is in the next episode. Once the new (very excited) owners sort our the paperwork they’ll be able to organise an MMSI etc! So yes, for now, we have a radar reflector, and are on the look out for other boats visually and on the chart plotter if they have AIS 🙂✌️ You’re right, we have to be on the ball during this sail over the France/Italy!
😆🤣😅 Omg!!! I wasn’t meant tooooo! Haha! But after 27 minutes on my editing timeline (before cutting it back I had about 2 hrs of raw footage to go through!) I simply couldn’t keep going! 😅😅 I only just finished editing this episode 10 minutes before I published it live on UA-cam would you believe haha!!! This is what 2 weeks of editing looks like Michael 🤣🫣 Thank you so much for watching, and waiting 😘 next one i promise you’ll see what unfolds 🙌

@@KristinasTravels I have a new holding tank and a new fresh water tank on order for my $1 boat refit project. Progress is slow, but that's my plan. I'm on the pay as you go and finish it on the day I retire plan. Then it's off to the San Blas islands.
Yes we do! And it is the BEST!!! But on anchor, you have to put the generator on. That’s fine and works an absolute treat, but we also like to conserve our energy when we can 🙂
Hi Kristina, please don't describe yourself as a girl. An eight year old is a girl - I would describe you as a young woman, and it's a bit demeaning to use the "girl" word. John wouldn't describe himself as a "boy". Language is all important. PS: I'm a sixty seven year old Australian man, and I adore your posts.
John could always describe himself as a bloke, but I don't think there is a female equivalent. (Why not?) Therefore I am declaring you an honorary bloke for the rest of the trip! Im Spanish we say “que aproveche!”
Ohhhhh, thank you Adriana!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
Ya know you can clean the paddle wheel w/out going for a swim?
Yes 🙂 haha! We used to do it all the time on Tucana 😆 But we don’t want to accidentally sink this one if we can’t put it back in fast enough hahaha 😝
newer systems like this boat would have is a non return flap so you don't get the 'fountain' when pulling out the paddle wheel@@KristinasTravels
Do you not risk tender being stolen when you leave it alone and go into the town ?
Yes.. it can be a risk! You can put trackers on them though.. and Police can catch up with the offender :) Or others buy locks. When we sailed in Australia we always used a lock a marinas we would tie up to
@@KristinasTravels we need to see more of that booty you got on the cover of the videos - what's with the bait and switch?
Where they left it (in Port Pollença) is pretty safe. Lots left there and never heard of any going missing.
Blurring should be barred. 😊😊😊
Or at least for the Patreons 😂
🤣🙈
Did you have a wardrobe malfunction Kristina? 😂😂
Haha! Yes... yes I did 😅
Are you telling us that the vessel doesn’t have its own mmsi number yet or that you can’t get an Epirb with the mmsi programmed into it ???
Both 🙂 we ended up getting an MMSI though, but then couldn’t find an EPIRB (as we had left Palma by that stage!) 🙉

26:12 No way... You didn't just close with a cliffhanger. Really? 😮 Like we're not waiting patiently for every episode. Really.
@@KristinasTravels I have two channels with over 500 videos, going back a decade, Sooooo...I know how much time and effort goes into these videos. That said, I think y'all do a fantastic job.
Wearing your foul weather gear when cooking at sea makes boiling water for pasta much safer. ;-)
That’s SUCH a good idea!!! In 35 degrees, I’ll have to shove ice inside one of the layers 😆😆😆🙌 brilliant!!!!! 😘🤗 thanks for great tip! I’ll remember this one 🙂 cheers x
@@KristinasTravels Agree, it's not pleasant at all but hey, better sweaty than burnt....

Hi! Woohoo! Amazing 🤩 Thanks for your support and bring here for the ride!! 🥰 France / Italy is NEXT!!! Yay! X
Gotta ask, is Kelly single. Wowzers"
No water can ruin a good sail in a minute. You'll get it fixed in the morning.
So true, and we sure will Mark! You know us too well 🤗🤗 How are you going? 🙂
@@KristinasTravels I have a new holding tank and a new fresh water tank on order for my $1 boat refit project. Progress is slow, but that's my plan. I'm on the pay as you go and finish it on the day I retire plan. Then it's off to the San Blas islands.
write the model of your yacht?
Hey! Check out the link in the description for more, it’s a 2023, Jeanneau Yachts 55! 🤗
@@KristinasTravels cool
don't you have AC ? or Fans ?
Yes we do! And it is the BEST!!! But on anchor, you have to put the generator on. That’s fine and works an absolute treat, but we also like to conserve our energy when we can 🙂

Great content as always. Are You on only fans yet John?
$5000 a week renting these yachts ? where do you get the money.?
Why would you ask anyone where they get their own money from and question how they spend it?? Very low class
Your style full thumbnail made me click, i am so tired of channels who use their woman's butts or breast to advertise their product.
Thanks Chris!! You’re right!
Cheers for watching and your support! Hope you’re having a great week so far! 🤗
John could always describe himself as a bloke, but I don't think there is a female equivalent. (Why not?) Therefore I am declaring you an honorary bloke for the rest of the trip! I love boats, and the one you're on at the moment looks like a yachtie's dream. Good on you and safe sailing. @@KristinasTravels
