Better than the modern era KANSAS bands. Seen them 4 times In the late seventies early 80s at a place called pine knob a outdoor amphitheater around Clarkston michigan seating just over 15,000 and packed it every time. Loved the original 6 guys and when Steve's voice went south and they lost Robbie, Kerry and Dave I just couldn't bear listening to them anymore. You guys did a great job love to hear more.
Wow thank you. There are about 5 videos from that night on my youtube channel. What's On My Mind turned out pretty good.ua-cam.com/video/1AlfUZR-XMk/v-deo.html We were a Christian rock band from 80-90 Fast forward to 2018 and our lead vocalist needed treatment for cancer, so we had reunion benefit concert for him. He is a huge Kansas fan, and we were all fans of Kansas also. We played all Kansas songs that night except for a couple of originals from the 80s. We only had about 5 rehearsals to prep for the show and only one rehearsal with the keyboardist the night before. We brought in a lead vocalist, fiddle, and extra guitarist for this night. So really it was thrown together rather quickly, and I thought it went pretty well. Most of us hadn't played these songs before. I had played Cary On Ward Son in the 80 and 90s. I've played several older Kansas songs but not any that we picked for that show. I sure appreciate you watching and commenting. thanks again, it was a wonderful night for al of us.
As a Kansas fan, seeing them several times, I believe you have done music justice. Close your eyes, and you may see Steve Walsh! Love that purple guitar also.
@@southpaw304 hey Mike do you think the song has Christian overtones. In the Bible the Southwind represents Revival and Refreshing. And the people of the Southwind are God's people ushering in the Revival.
@@thenarrowroad7908 I don't recall people of the South wind in the bible. I the song is referring to their roots growing up in the state of Kansas. The word Kansas means people of the South wind.
@@southpaw304 David and I knew each other when we were 15 in Kansas. I am from Texas. He said he talked to a friend the other day about a Wichita disc jockey?? Is there a p/m on here?
Pretty good cover. All players did an excellent job. The guitarist needs a little more practice. He's almost got it. I saw Kansas do this live when they were touring the Album.
My, My! WELL DONE! Kansas is tough to pull off, especially Steve Walsh!
THat's one heck of a challenging pre-chorus but the singer nails it. The rest of the band is spot on!
Thank you we had a blast.
Outstanding!! Great job ! Loved it.
Thank you very much
Marvelous

Too bad for you...They sound fantastic and 2 new albums in the last few years
@@rdalev1 oh there's no doubt they're still a great band.
@@rdalev1 I'd argue the last two albums stand alongside their best.
Nice to see someone doing some KANSAS.... 👍🏻
My love to you all.
..epic performance
Thank you
Nice job guys. That is one challenging vocal! Steve himself live often passed on sections in that song, which he rarely ever did. Brutal tessitura.
Thank you so much
Nice vocals!
Very impressive. Worthy of much praise!
Thank you very much. I love playing the drums.
Outstanding!
You did this one Justice.. Very few try to take on this song.... Kansas would be proud.
Thank you very much

Is there any videos of David Burrow singing? The benefit was for him?
No video of David, he was in the audience that night it was a fundraiser for him.
Are you a local and know David?
