I don't know who is all involved in the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association but that's who Metalhead and EA partnered with for the Legends. Some guys with contracts to announce or be an analyst also could not be included. There are other legalities involved.
But this is a 1st that EA did something good for once as well as making a league with legends of MLB from either the early years of baseball to the legends of today
It's nice to have recognizable players in the game but I wish they would have been able to pick any player they wanted. Barry Bonds would have been awesome.
Is it even possible for companies to make a Barry Bonds but just not call him Barry Bonds? But I guess with SMB's customization, we can just make one ourselves.
@@allainangcao28 Barry usually was under a different name & appearance, but was obvious which character he was. So just had to make some changes. My favorite player like that, I believe was a Brian Daubach substitute, under the name, Bryce Stafford, in 1 of the 2K baseball games, in 06 or 07, I think. Maybe 08. Can't remember.

I'm confused, with so many Minnesota Twins from the 80s and 90s run, why no Kirby Puckett or Kent Hrbek? Like I get why you might be uneasy with Kirby and some of his post-career allegations (though if that's the case, why put in Chuck Knoblauch, who at best is equally douchey) but Kent Hrbek is about as wholesome as it's possible for a man to get, and during the peak of his career (between '87 and '91) he was on a near-Hall of Fame trajectory (and he still landed in the team Hall of Fame, aka the "Hall of Iconic Players who Just Missed Cooperstown").

@@cbacigaluppi It's not meant to be the most accurate game. If that's what you want, MLB the Show exists. It's meant for fun and arcade style baseball. Having played SMB 2 thru 4...it's really fun and a good change of pace from the seriousness of MLB the show. I wouldn't want them taking themselves too seriously. But, I also wouldn't have put "Legends" in the game and I'm not sure they would have if EA didn't take over.
No my All Time Favorite Juan Gonzalez are you serious. NO Griffey Jr!! In my opinion there are alot of bums and no room for Griffey, Maddux, Ivan Rodriguez, Frank Thomas, Albert Belle. lmao. Great game though 👍🏽
