What a beautiful performance! It's giving me goosebumps. "Breaking like the waves down on the coastline/Breaking like the wine-stained glass that held my drink/Breaking like the heart that's stuck inside my skin/Come on fill it up again". Just beautiful!
I love these ladies! They are fantastic live. Highly recommend you hear them out individually as artists and together as a band. They are each so very talented in her own right.
As a solo, this would have been a beautiful song. Then, with the harmonies it becomes even better. Unbelievable clarity and timing from these three. Wishing Sara played some fiddle here, but that would be my only change.
Just heard your interview on the Sirius XM Folk Road Show - Had seen Sara Watkins with Patty Griffin a little bit ago but not the rest. Immediately bought this debut album. Wishing you all the best and hope to see you soon.
I don't care for the bridge but the end of the bridge back to the chorus is one of my favorite parts, and I love how you barely sing the word drink. Ok, what Bon Iver song are y'all thinking about covering? And could you also do an Indigo Girls cover? Good fits off the top of my head - Watershed, Yield (might be the banjo), Prince of Darkness (!), Three Hits, Fugitive, Least Complicated, and Wood Song.
near operatic harmonies, overly focused on tone, bereft of delivery, overwrought rhythms, a desert of accentuation, this shoe doesn't deserve that much polish
evankerry - "overly focused on tone, bereft of delivery??" To me it was the delivery of the song that gave it emotion. And if your definition of "overly focused of tpne" means the harmonies were beautiful and lush then I would agree lol
Evankerry, it was not for me either, until I found this group. This is simply great music, lyrics, message, sound, pure talent. In short this is great stuff.
This is the best version out there. What a magical night.
Someone described them as the greatest band in the world and I genuinely believe these girls r the greatest bluegrass/country band in the world
Voices that defy time. Talent that defies category.
I constantly pat myself on the back since I got their CD...I feel so smart and wise

"I hear you loud and clear." How apropos that Sarah Jarosz's crystalline voice rings out to open the song... and the record.
my god that is superb
You three ladies are plugged into something incredibly amazing. Thank you so much.
They are spectacular! I JUST now discovered them from a friend!

Love the combination of your voices and instruments. I'll surely come to hear you in Berlin!
Wow!!! What talented women.....
Thank you for creating this
Looking forward to your Denver appearance, April 13.

Sara on the fiddle would have been nice.......
Very nice sound!
Brilliant.
Amazing organic reverb from the hall.
Just beauty.
really great performance ladies. Loved the pacing and harmony. Gentle but quick.
I heard you perform this live this summer. That was absolutely as good as music gets. I cannot wait for the album!
another excellent performance ladies
Very very nice!
Truly mind-blowing - Lucky to have seen you all in Charlottesville with Punch Bros.
So nice, specially listen to them ... also watching them ... Thank you so much for sharing them!

Gold.
Magic 🤗
I love them.
Gorgeous!
This band is a non-stop source of frisson.
They just know exactly when to lean into the microphone and when to stand back. The inflections are right where they need to be.
Can't wait for the whole concert to be posted, or perhaps a home video? Hint hint
Totally emotional
Tour please ¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great song. Who wrote it? The 3 of you? Fantastic harmonies.
I wish this version was available on iTunes.......
Coming to the UK anytime soon?
When are you coming to Minneapolis??
OR ANYWHERE NEAR THE MIDWEST!
is O'Donovan playing the Martin or Collings in this? Her tone is nice.
This is a masterpiece. I would like other people's opinions on the meaning/interpretation of this song. The lyrics were a little bit cryptic.
Love lost with the willingness to open your heart up to let someone back in.....??
Finding a way to move on from a breakup, feeling like you're broken, until you find a way for your heart to heal
This is the best song to put IKEA furniture together to
😂👍

I say slap a bit more polish on that shoe and get shining!!!!

Sean McCormick folk music in a conservatory ain't for me

@@evankerry What are you talking about? Are you saying they are too "polished" for your liking?
