    Thanx
Good to see you’re sailors whisk
I have tied a few too and
    Used retired climbers rope
Is hard labour of love from start to finish & good medicine to make
Takes time to slow down & make these
    gifted pieces.
    Thanx 4 sharing

This is a great way of using up old rope! Please tell me what you make with old rope?

If made from pretty white line, give it to the Mrs. To hang combs or a brush from, very nice.

Yes, I have to say the rope I used would only make a good deck scrubber!!!

lol haven't got around to getting my app and I need to think of how to record it so it looks like yours like how it looks like a gopro on your head do you know what I mean

It is hard enough trying to do all the work under the camera. The amount of times I forget and pull the work close to my chest to pull up out of camera shot. When people have a headset on, it looks horrible. If the dog farts, the camera is looking to see where the noise came from...... you know what I mean.

This is the problem with knotting.... there is always another tool to add to the collection :-) Are you a knotter?

Footrope knot: "First you crown and then you wall, tuck them up and that is all." The Diamond knot doesn't include the crown.

This was or is, all very confusing to me. I have always known this way as being a footrope knot. Yet even some reputable books call it a diamond knot, this is why I mentioned it as such. The way that I have always tied the diamond knot is by starting with a Carrick bend. When I look at one of Des Pawson's books he show a crown then a wall and calls this the diamond knot. I remember before I even got that book I was tying the footrope and manrope knot and calling them that. I think I really ought to refer to ABoK more often. Trouble is I find it such a bind wading through all the pages and index. Anyway Roger, cheers for popping over and leaving a comment.

Johnny Debt Awesome! Also, I've got an idea for a video about raising Turk's Head knots too if you are interested. I'll certainly never get around to making it.

    STOP...STOP..STOP
USE 3 COLORS AND WORK ON A DIFFERENT COLORED TABLE.
THIS IS DIFFICULT TO SEE AND FOLLOW BECAUSE OF THE DARK COLORS ON DARK BACKGROUND.
    jmho
    seajay
(I give you a 7 out of 10 on this one because of the Dark on Dark colors)

      Also,
In your Crown knot and your Wall knot,
FIRST. STICK THE "FID" THRU THE STRANDS TO SHOW WHERE THE ROPE IS GOING TO GO THRU THE "EXISTING" STRANDS.
I'm old and you need to be Very Explicit for us OLD PEOPLE.
      seajay the "Old Sailor Man"
other than that, you are doin' pretty good, if you will use my advice...

Well, as you are a senior Naval guy, I do take all your comments on board. Hopefully, the next time I call the hands to muster, my work will be better presented ;-)

Biggest, sloppiest, sailor's whisk I ever saw. And the shameless begging for a free knife left a bad taste in my mouth. I wont be back. And what I'm gonna do now is...
