J.R. It was a pleasure to watch your video .At 66 i am still learning . I wish i watched you video yesterday before i installed the window to the rollers. my bad . Never again. I hope when i finish my coff the pass side goes as easy as it was for you . have a good day sir Thanks MC
@@JRsGarage have you got a video showing how to refit the quarter window? I've got mine back in but there's a large gap between the quarter light and windshield pillar. The door seal is visible through it.
Are you talking about refitting the quarter window in it's frame or fitting the frame into the door? Window into frame is at 9:36 and frame into the door is at approximately 14:15 in the video.
@@JRsGarage Frame to the door. The problem that I got is that the frame leaves a large gap between it and the windscreen pillar, exposing the door seal. I have had some advice on how to remedy the problem. Can I also ask what is the orange tool you use to push the clips in when fitting the door weather strip?
It is a tool from my interior trim removal kit. You can search car trim removal kit on Amazon or most other automotive Parts websites and find such a thing.
wow this is very informative video, a little intimidating though having to take out the glass. But I'm pretty sure i can use this on my next project, weather permitting.
Our quarter panel window catch came off from our Morris minor. What holds it in place fixing wise, is is glue, rubber or soldering. Can you help, regards Kevin
Thanks so much for this, any idea how thick that rubber was you used at the start of the video? I have a dear friends car here that needs just that done. I'm hoping i can just buy the rubber here somewhere? unless you got it from MG as a part maybe?
You should be able to get them on VictoriaBritish.com, part number 12-740 . They're about $6 each according to the catalog I have. I couldn't find my calipers but by my eye and ruler it's about 1/8 inch.
Thanks JR super useful to see someone else do this as I'm preparing to fix the quarter light on my B GT. One thing though - in your profile it says you're in the US and I would guess that's where you're from but somehow I think this was filmed in the UK?
The MGC was purchased in the UK when we lived there. Then we moved to Germany, where this was filmed. Now we are living in the US. Military...we move around a lot.
@@JRsGarage I recognized the birdsong. Where did you get the seal that clips to the top edge of the door and rests against the main window? It looks much better than the ones I got from Moss. Also my window has the common vertical scratches do you think Headlight Restoration Polish would work? I've had limited success with toothpaste and T-Cut.
Try MGOC Spares. I think bolt labeled 85 in this diagram is interchangeable between the two models of quarter window. I'd call to be sure. Or go down to your local hardware store and match them to something off the shelf. www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/MGOC_SPARES_SIDE___QTR__MGB__97.html
Hi, would it be possible to get a video on the MGC GT i.e. a walkaround video and maybe a drive video and tell us some more information about the differences between the MGC GT and the MGB GT? Thanks.

Mark, thanks for the comments. Glad that I could help.
Great video! If you ever need to do the job again, liberal amounts of windex make the glass slip in like a dream! Far easier than dry assembly.
Thanks for the tip.
Thank you for this video, I am in the process of doing just what you showed, it'll help when I get round to finish it.
My pleasure.

Just ordered them both👍

You can do it.
Very helpful... Better than the workshop manual.
Thank you, my pleasure.
Thank you. excellent tutorial!
Happy to help.

Sorry, not familiar with the Morris minor. I'm not sure what part you're talking about.

Parts AHH6348, 6349 via MGOCSpares. I've tried to buff out scratches in the glass to no avail.
I broke the two bolts of the bottom of my vent window, can these be replaced?

Yea, I can, good idea. It may take me awhile to get it done as the German winter is absolute dog crap right now and for the foreseeable future.
How do I remove the main window from the channel at the bottom
That’s at the end of the part 1 video. ua-cam.com/video/KE-kIhL_0v8/v-deo.htmlsi=TJmxh6qc97gUlxnM
Just another question.
Where did you buy your plastic tools?
I bought them in Germany. But you can find many options on Amazon, just search "plastic pry tool".
Great video
What book was use using for reference?
It is this one: www.amazon.com/MGC-Workshop-Manual-Official-Handbooks/dp/1855201828
Perhaps the fitting of the seals would be easier if the seals were wet down with a rubber/vinyl lubricant?
Yes, lubricant is a must. I used the two products listen in the very beginning of the video.
Which manual are you referencing?
MG MGC Workshop Manual: AKD 7133 (Edition 2). a.co/d/9vP29KG
soap would have helped on the door glass reg runner
Good tip thanks.
@@JRsGarage any glass rubber, rubber to metal, washing up stuff, u know the stuff lol, nice video good discriptions..
Use frog snot, it slips in easier
Sounds like it would be harder to extract such liquid from a 🐸 sinus than wrestling with the glass pane. 🤣
