      Thank you very much! Yes, the shake on spool up was definitely not good but kind of expected. It is a residence vibration from the low head speed on a brand new tight head. It should go as the head breaks in.

      Thank you! When this project was started we wanted to do something different, you don’t really see 3D turbine Helicopters, just scale and the ones they do make are a messy looking helicopter with big tanks and we wanted to go SAB and they don’t make a turbine kit. So we did a custom build and a helicopter you don’t see every day!

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому +1

      I actually wasn’t that nervous on spool up. I was just waiting for the RPM to come up but I couldn’t hear the road speed over the turbine lol. So I was slowly adding pitch till it got light and was making sure everything was happy.

    How does a Turbine interface to the Main Shaft to drive the Rotors? Gears to a Clutch? Curious about the Drive allowing delayed Spin up of Rotors.

    • @anthonypoltes7413
      @anthonypoltes7413 7 місяців тому +1

      It bolts up just like a regular nitro engine. The turbine has its own built in gearbox so that you can use the regular nitro clutch assembly

      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 місяців тому +1

      I have a video on the turbine it’s self going over how it works but, yes, the turbine spools a turbine that is attached to a shaft that goes to a 90 degree gear box and then to the clutch.

      I guess then I am wondering what delays or determines the blades startup? Something reaching a speed then a clutch auto engages to turn the rotors. I mean the Turbines are whining for awhile before the rotors finally start turning. What engages the Rotors to start turning?
