This is probably one of the first main stream review of South Point…Room is really decent, I dig the no carpet.
Great video.
We love South Point! Discovered it after we were bumped from our flight a few years ago. 11 restaurants, bowling, a theatre, a great sports book, and very clean rooms. Plus you get a coupon book with free drink coupons! Definitely gives old person vibes but in a good way! 😂😊
Your reviews are great ! Missed these vegas ones !!!!
This hotel is the best value in Las Vegas. Great and reasonably priced restaurants, value buffet, exceptional video poker and a 24/7 sportsbook. There's a reason locals go there and it's packed every night of the week.
I love South Point. It's the perfect place to stay at the end of a long Vegas trip. To unwind, chill, and enjoy some good food that won't break the bank. Atmosphere is approachable and friendly. Plus, the $6 steak and eggs at midnight is great.
I love South Point and always stay there when I’m in Vegas. South Point is very affordable, CLEAN, has great food options and great gambling options. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I love the Buffet which is inexpensive, clean, great tasting and a great value for Vegas. It’s an all around hidden gem of Vegas!
So glad to see you back in Vegas, James. The thing I like about your channel, is because you have your own, hard-earned money, you don't need to be paid off like some of these other fake Vegas UA-cam reviewers. Can't wait to see what else is in store this series.
Well said Sir.. I agree i too have started a channel and will never be monitized.. I'm honest and James was my inspiration...
Excellent review James and I agree. South Point always impresses me every time I stay there!
Decent food to!
I love this place when the rodeo is in town in December. It’s definitely a fun time.
I am so glad you did an off strip. I have been wanting to get your opinion on this one for awhile. Nice to see you can go some place nice and not have to spend a fortune. Thanks James!
Welcome to the unofficial South Point fan club! I have several videos on my small channel "Traveling with Vanessa" about staying and playing slots at South Point. So glad your larger channel is letting people know why we enjoy staying there. I will be staying a week at the South Point in October. Hope to meet you in town. Have a wonderful weekend!
Very helpful review, thx! Like it. We will definitely check it out soon. Cheers.
The whole resort is awesome. Great food, place is usually happy and hopping. Not snooty like so many strip places are trying to be nowadays. Vegas as it used to be AND still has a buffet!
I do like the no carpet floor. Like you said, after a while the carpet can get pretty funky if not deep cleaned often. Thanks, James. Good and honest review as always.
Cool review! Will be staying there soon!
Great to see you back in Vegas bro! Can’t wait to see all the content you throw down on this trip! Hopefully it’s a record trip of over 30 days!
Thanks for the SouthPoint review!!! It’s on my list of places to stay. I’d love to see a follow up/updated video series to get your thoughts on the Circa and downtown in general.
We stayed there once and yaa, surprisingly large casino and the rooms have the country clean motif. Nice warm tones.
Wow, very impressive room. Can’t wait to see the experience video.
glad to see you're back in Vegas just in time to miss hurricane season in the Caribbean! Can't wait to see your videos - hope you go back to Bellagio and Cosmo!
Hi James! Good to see you! Love your Vegas content. Thank you for this great video! Happy Holiday Weekend to you! CAB😊
Stayed at South Point a couple of weeks ago, the main negative I had was that the casino area was very smokey.
Still have my slippers. Loved this place.
Great video. I was thinking of booking a suite but may now just book one of these king rooms. I’m travelling solo so sure it will be plenty big enough. Will be my first time staying at South Point.
There is a bench just outside of the race book entrance that I love to sit in. It has a nice view day and night. I’ve stayed at SP around 9 or 10 times since the day it opened. It always amazes me to wake up in NJ, drive 15 minutes to EWR and before I know it I’m in LV.
Awesome casino super clean super nice the best !
Videos are always great. I do feel like a microphone is the only major production item that would really improve the videos. Cheers.
When i lived in vegas, southpoint was one of my fave local spots
SouthPoint is my go to quick weekend getaway. Great Resort and lots to keep you occupied 👍
I've been to _South Point_ several times also, but have never stayed there. Seeing this video, I'm going to have to spend a few days here and partake in their amenities!
Hey...Thanks for the reviews and content! Question, since you travel quite a bit, do you ever do a "shakedown" of the room to check for anything funny like cameras and other intrusive things? Any tips on the subject?
I'll be staying in Vegas for the first time at Luxor for my birthday December 3-6.......if I ever bump into you drinks on me bud
Glad you're doing some less popular /fancy spots!
South Point has always been a great place to stay
The room looks pretty decent. I haven't tried South Point. Anxious to see your experience video.
I love SP it’s a hidden gem in Las Vegas has most wonderful casino and restaurants. There is so much to do there from slots to bowling or take in a movie or a session of bingo. Rooms are very nice and comfortable and absolutely clean.
Your smart man James - avoiding Vegas summertime heat. My first trip to Vegas july / 1975 was 115 everyday - one day it hit 118. Tbh Vegas is my fav place but have not returned during that unliveable heat !!
Excellent vid - would love to stay there only one problem - LOCATION. I play poker at Venetian & Bellagio- would cost too much time & $$$ traveling. To make it worse Uber triples their rates when busy. Only place I stay is Centre Strip. ✌️
I would do it! Thanks.
Great off strip reviews!
Michael Gaughan one of the too few who knows how to run a casino anymore. I still miss Coast Casinos. Honorable mention to the Plaza, Downtown Grand. Strictly from a gambling standpoint. Cheers to Coolist! Always great work.🙏
I have been going to South Point for over 15 years, and like the location, buffet, steak house, sportsbook, Del Mar deli, and the rooms are clean, and updated. If I had anything negative to say about the rooms, it would be the bare floors take the comfort of the carpeting away, and the sound of the TV sounds cheap with no carpet. I am sure they removed the carpeting , cause of all the spills, smoke, and things that build up over time don't go away, but it feels like a motel 6 without carpeting. Maybe they have suites with carpets. I will find out on my next visit. Your doing a great job on your reviews. Keep them going.
I'm with you, I prefer carpet. I do understand that it's 10x easier to clean hard surfaces but it steals the warmth from a carpeted room.
My parents had a timeshare here for years.. good vacation spot
Southpoint is great it has everything you need
I've stayed there a couple of times and was not disappointed..
I love the inclusion of a keurig, just wish the tub was a bit bigger, a Vegas soak is an absolute must for me.
Vegas baby
Thank you James. This is very educational. I would never have looked into South Point. Looks very comfortable. Affordable too?
Very, especially the food options… they even still have a buffet. Uber ride to the "center strip" is reasonable as well.
BTW James would love to see you hit Jamaica!
Good room review. I only wish you mentioned the total price you paid for the room; after all, the price is what will determine if the room is a great value or not.
Great video, except, you didn't say the most important part. The price. Apologies if I missed hearing it in the video.
I know South Point advertises itself as a four-star resort...............and when you showed the bathroom I thought, "Ehhhhhhh, this restroom definitely looks three-star to me!" and was underwhelmed.
However, I do feel the rest of the room is four-star. Definitely wasn't expecting to see near floor-to-ceiling windows here, recess lighting, crown molding, etc. So the rest of the room definitely lives up to the four-star moniker. =)
You've piqued my curiosity as to how you're going to rate this resort (I already feel you're going to compare their pool to the Treasure Island pool, hahahaha............but I can also see you enjoying the casino floor as well as some of the casual dining). And if you'll give South Point a fair shake, does that mean Sam's Town is in the cards? =)
When coolist is in LV I click. Simple
Plus slippers for you In the room.
In regards to the phone in the bathroom, what do u mean it's there "in case you get inspired"? 🤔
Great review. I dont like the coffee maker in the bathroom for sanitary reasons but, that's probably just me.
Bathroom, main room..whatever room...do not use those coffee makers in the rooms. You have no clue what people put in the water reservoir before you use it 🤮
@@yeabuddy6070 LOL...I dont like coffee anyway. I dont even use the glasses they have in rooms. I only use plastic cups.
Will you go to the F1 las vegas ?
I like Southpoint. I like the casino. I like the food choices. The only problem with it is the location. Southpoint is great if you gonna spend most of your time there but if you want to go to the Strip or downtown it is an Uber or bus ride away.
South Point is one of my favorite properties in town these days. They know their customer - the blue collar, mid-roller type that's either a local or in increasing numbers, out-of-towners too. They don't insult you with hideously high food & drink pricing, parking is still free, rooms are a great value, on and on. Now our go-to for all day football binges in the sports book (where cheap hot dogs are served nearby - who does that any more?). It's a shame that MGM doesn't understand that there's a huge market for this type of customer, and yet they completely ignore it. $10 beer at Excalibur? Give me a break!
The ONLY PLACE WE STAY in Las Vegas... Love South Point resort...
Back in Vegas! Are you going to do another 30 days? 👀
South Point has some of the best gambling in town as well. All blackjack tables are 3/2 etc...
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Phones were put in bathrooms as a requirement of a 4-5 star hotel. They are to improve their luxury rating.
I looked it up on google.
Has anyone participated in the super bingo tournaments here? Thoughts? TY
crazy how cheap the room is. rest room is kinda meh but that wood floor is wow wow wow. thanks james
What happened to your food n drinks tours?
Yeah, at the Sahara from the last video!
Heard lobby and casino is very smokey and smelly. Can you confirm this?
We live 2 miles from SP, so don't ever stay in the rooms. We recommend this as a place to stay when out-of-town visitors ask, but they seem to think they know Vegas better than a local and end up staying on the strip. Go figure, maybe we can refer them to this pair of videos.
Looks like you lost a little weight 😳 How's that possible? From all your videos.. looks like you eat and drink quite a bit 🤔
