This wasn't a proper guide for Tistina, but was still enlightening to see how it works in action. What do you mean by "flawed perception", I'm curious

The card that makes no sense to me not running is the level 2. Level modulation on summon. So you have Rank 3/4/10 plays. And it attaches itself to the boss opt. Making it a great field card target.

I do think the deck is pretty clearly a going second deck primarily, just given tools for going first so that you aren't left floundering if your opponent makes you go first. Kinda like Mikanko, but like, much worse
everybody calls this deck absolutely unplayable, while its kinda okay. I have been playing nothing else since its second wave of support and people at my locals actually respect Tistina since im doing really well, especially for a Deck everyone thought was absolute garbage. But I also think Tistina is a prime example for a deck Konami wanted to do badly. 1. why does Demigod search and summon in same effect? I think its cool if Konami writes some generic search effects differently to make them a little special, but you WANT a Light on field, so its actually really bad he doesnt search on summon. 2. Play of the Tistina: its all it does? really? I dont mind the bounce sometimes, but why in def? why not GY eff? 3. I think its cool how the search effects of Sentinel and Breath work, but they are not very good. I wished Breath was a quick effect tho. 4. the second wave basicaly didnt add any consistency to the deck while it really needed that. The second wave was basically just utility stuff. I think once the new generic R10 comes out and when the eventually the new support from the ocg comes out Tistina gets another chance to actually being really good. I really wouldnt mind it being Tier2/Tier3, its a very cool and unique deck.
It definitely feels kind a deck they didn't want to do well. Like, it's playable at lower power settings: if your opponent can't stop some of the effects, it does a lot and resolving the xyz basically and you the game. It's just clunky to do, and can't do much else. It also has a lot of non synergy and anti synergy with itself

i must be the only person that likes Tistina... but i have a thing with arbitrary costs in my decks, like my favorite deck is Altergeist and that's a miracle that it is playable tbh. some cards send, others tribute, others return to hand... for a trap deck only 2 are actually playable, it has a literally an unsummonable extender lol, anyways, when i playtested Tistina and saw all the random shit you have to do with each card and felt a warm and fuzzy feeling inside of me. this is shit, but it is my kind of shit.
Field spell has the same energy of Nagel protection (Tindangle card... a deck somehow less janky than this), which gives protection to your face up Tindangle monsters, but in case you don't know (Congrats if you do), except for two, all of them are FLIP MONSTERS... so, if opponent Barone pop your poor face-down with Nagel around, tough luck buddy Had a blast with your commentary man; Gold for sure is a chilling place to actually play the game, so gratz for keeping your sanity

I mean. I saw it as a go second deck first and foremost(Yes. Demigod is a quick Effect Book of moon everything and send everyting that can't be book of moon to the grave. But Crystal God does the same dueing your own turn while Demigod is restricted to your opponent's turn) and I built it as a go second deck and I do fairly decent with it. I do understand the frustrations with the continuous spell and field spell though. And some rulings don't make any sense and if these cards were Worded differently it would make the deck so much better

Hot take, I don't think Tistina was designed by an AI. I think they just did what Skarlon did with that custom card project and just had 18 different people design 13 cards around a single card with zero communication.

Usually I end up pulling a bunch of URs in weird archetypes from selection packs, dust them, then regret it later because the decks are really fun. This was not one of those cases
I just went against tistina with magical musketeer after they got new support and we both were talking about how much konami screwed this archetype over. I felt so bad bc I had the perfect hand and just had a large hand with 5 negates essentially.
The best thing Is the 1st wave of TCG release was pretty decent, with a cohesive strategy, but It was not enough because there werent enough cards. The second wave literally had the most random effects, making the deck never playable. It Just needed a Little love lol.
It still can be good with ocg support. Peeps is right that the deck only needs 2 or 3 cards to be good. A light tistina link monster or a normal summon/easy special summon light tistina, and a good searcher normal spell fixes most of the issues. Id also appreciate another xyz using the name 'crystal god' as that would do wonders for going first.

Some of these could be combined into one card and it would fix a lot.
You pop Sentinel to add a tistina card to your hand. Then it can special summon itself feom the grave if a lvl 10 light is on the field. You can use this eff with embrace to send their facedown you stole to the grave or use it with hound. Destroy hound then hound can bring itself back. You can double summon with the continuous spell. The field spell is perfect against decks that love spamming monsters or have a ton of continuous spells. I often get to use the field spell against horus just bc of all the special summons plus their continuous spell and field spell
In a Way. Tistina and Cubics are stuck in the same boat. Decks with A LOT of potential (Cubics even more-so). Yet They suffer under Very Constrictive Issues that Just plague Their Rogue Tier Status! Both Lack Viable Easy to SUMMON EXTRA DECK Bosses. Both Lack LINK monsters that would add much needed Extenders to the Deck. Both sadly can’t Fit other Archetype Support Cards or even just basic Hand Traps due to the Amount of Cards that they need to make them Run! And That Just Sucks. Cause While I like both for Being decks that both Sport Level 10 Bosses with some Creative Effects. They Just aren’t able to keep up with a Constantly Power Creeping Meta that Where opponents keep busting out Board Blockades, or Ditching 7 Hand Traps per duel. Mostly with either Ash, Droll, Crow, or Some other Hand Trap that screws you from being able to play.
I play the deck with p.u.n.k and armoured xyz, the punk engine allows you to search field spell using afd it also lets you make bish to give your opponent tokens so you can use the field spell on turn 1, and finally you can use it to make a rank 3, which gets you in to the armored xyz so can quick xyz on the opponent turn.
this deck is my forbidden pleasure. it has no reason to work as well as it does WHEN it does. everything is clunky and situational and seems bad on paper but it SOMEHOW blends into something magical. it's nuts
the deck has so much potential it was a daruma on legs but has consistency issue im looking forward how konami will cook it's 2nd wave of support cards fixing the problems and issues of this deck has
Tistina is definitely meant to be going second, at least the second wave. Their whole deal is otk-ing with the Xyz by detaching Tainted. Demi god is just quirky.
5:36 - Look, I was actually interested in playing this, but I'm a Free-2-Play player and I don't have the games/luck to high-roll this, Red Dragon Archfiend, Diabellstar, *_AND_* the newest/upcoming pack(s). So as much as I _DO_ need to play it for my honor as a jank aficionado, much like with the Kuriboh Pendulums, Musical Sumo, etc. I just can't.
The more I think about it, the more the theory that this archetype was AI-generated actually makes sense. Also, every archetype that's ever existed, even the bad ones, always have at least 1 card that is absolutely insane. This proves to be even more true with Demigod.
the deck does want you to go second but gave you something to do first. But it is primarly a going second deck. And the field spell wants 3 face ups because they think the opponent will consistantly have 3 cards face up. This deck heavily rely on the opponent playing without making disruptions

I've thought about building this deck, but after watching this, I think I now just want to figure out how to break these cards!

I play the deck with p.u.n.k and armoured xyz, the punk engine allows you to search field spell using afd it also lets you make bish to give your opponent tokens so you can use the field spell on turn 1, and finally you can use it to make a rank 3, which gets you in to the armored xyz so can quick xyz on the opponent turn.
this deck is my forbidden pleasure. it has no reason to work as well as it does WHEN it does. everything is clunky and situational and seems bad on paper but it SOMEHOW blends into something magical. it's nuts

Tistina is definitely meant to be going second, at least the second wave. Their whole deal is otk-ing with the Xyz by detaching Tainted. Demi god is just quirky.

5:36 - Look, I was actually interested in playing this, but I'm a Free-2-Play player and I don't have the games/luck to high-roll this, Red Dragon Archfiend, Diabellstar, *_AND_* the newest/upcoming pack(s). So as much as I _DO_ need to play it for my honor as a jank aficionado, much like with the Kuriboh Pendulums, Musical Sumo, etc. I just can't.
This deck is still better than alot of rogue decks because of the space for non combi cards and good boss monsters.

The more I think about it, the more the theory that this archetype was AI-generated actually makes sense.
Also, every archetype that's ever existed, even the bad ones, always have at least 1 card that is absolutely insane. This proves to be even more true with Demigod.
the deck does want you to go second but gave you something to do first. But it is primarly a going second deck. And the field spell wants 3 face ups because they think the opponent will consistantly have 3 cards face up. This deck heavily rely on the opponent playing without making disruptions
