You answered two questions I had. You came up with a brake bleeder, and you stuck with the DOT 5 the military used. Mainly wondered about bleeding the brakes. Without a bleeder type device it's damn near impossible to bleed the brakes on a Duce once you had it apart as far as you did. I worked on one or 300 Duces in my past career and you called it they are a pain in the back. 5 tons are even worse. Cracked up hard at the "Just back from the machine shop." Seriously man, I did spray some beer on that one. 🤣🤣 Take it easy man. Thanks for the vids. 😎
I just had a thought about the single circuit system. I'm not sure if anyone has done it, but i think you could install 2 "proportioning valves" on the truck. 1 between front and rear and 1 between the tandems. If there were to be a loss of pressure at any axle, it would seal it off until fixed. The PVs have 2 inputs, but you can just use a Y or T to split them off of a single line. You would also have 2 (1 for each PV) warning lights labeled to tell you there is a problem. All would still be using the single circuit MC
Yup your button fell off. You did everything I did when I got mine. I also converted all copper air lines to modern DOT air brake line. All belts, hoses, fluids, air tanks, rebuilt parking brake, speedo cable, parking brake cable, fuel pump, booster pump, hydraulic head o rings, converted to spin on oil and fuel filters, motor mounts, cab mounts, transfer case mounts, rebuilt front pumpkin, locking hubs, battery cables, rebuilt wiper motors, new battery box, I'm sure I left stuff out.
Love the Channel I really enjoy watching old stuff come back to life and I am also worried if you would be interested in sealing the Polaris tc 175 let me know thank you
I like these trucks, but I’m glad I took the “easy” route and got a CUCV Chevy pickup instead… They’ve still got plenty of military goofiness, but a bit more manageable. Or at least takes up less space anyway..
I alway like your videos and it’s another great one but with the time of the year and teasing us with the sleds at the start of the video. LETS SEE SOME SLED VIDEOS braaaaaap. 🤘
Haha! You know the sad thing is, we actually got some decent snow for a change this winter, too busy riding instead of making vids... Got one in that works that should be good, gonna be an hour or so long, and it's a sled!
Heck yes. I use a pressure sprayer to bleed Hydro-Vac brske systems on older farm trucks. I have several master cylinder caps i have built for using it.
@@toocheaptosmoke the farm trucks I work on are so old I have no choice but buikding them. I find peices of soft rubber truck mud flaps make good seals for the caps i have built. Drill and tap a 1/8 NPT hole in them to attach my pressure hose fitting to. I use 1/4" nylon DOT. Air kine and fittings as i work in a heavy truck shop and have them around. It also nakes good deisel fuel line on trucks
I swapped a 440 motor and put a 295 cc motorthis one has only 4 wires comming out of stator red and black go to coils two yellow both putting out 5 to 6 volts at idle no more wires how can I wire it to shut it off using key or tether switch instead of choking it out thanks a vido on wiring problems would be very interesting
So you go around in a feedback loop, until you're thoroughly frustrated 😂
Glad to see you getting the old deuce going 👍
Bring back good memories. ARMY 💪
Right into the danger zone!..nah,were not gonna do that😂😂

Thanks man, I really appreciate that!
Thanks I needed something to watch. Another good one. Something different . Now bring in some more sleds.
Got some stuff in the works!

Nice, the 5 tons have to be even worse for sure, haha.

Another great video! I'm going to use that brake bleeder idea. Thanks
Sweet, glad to hear. It work surprisingly well, definitely worth the 13 bucks.
It's in my price range ;)
You need to make sure the air pack keeps oil in it use air tool oil 👍

Man, sounds like I've still got a lot of things to go, haha.
The drums brakes have a latch that you removed to adjust the brakes with a gage

Thanks man! Plan on keeping the TC for now
That's the way most of my projects go, start early summer, thing's still not done next year...
haha, yup

I don't regret getting this thing at all, but it's definitely been a bit different working on a larger scale, haha.
I would love all the parts # for the bearings and wheel cylinders etc
There's a good site I googled that had a whole bunch of part numbers and cross reference info. Also check out the steel soldiers forums
I believe this is the most money you’ve invested in a project …. EVER ! Lmao ! When she’s done you’ll have a blast !
Surprisingly enough, a lot of the parts were pretty reasonable. Still sucked spending the cash though, haha.

Oh yah. Right on. 👌
Surprised there are still parts for that.
Yeah, they must have had a heck of a lot of surplus parts around in stock.

I've seen those type of clamp on caps, may have to make some for the other vehicles.

You don't need to worry about having no brakes.
That's what Priuses are for!
your yard looks like mine
