@@AHockey1993I'm a pens fan, so having Crosby which is a true champion like Lemieux, it's kinda sad that McDavid can't be a true champion like Gretzky!
Uggh I was wrong about them not being able to sign Henrique because I thought for sure he'd go to the higgest bidder or he'd want more term. Seems like it all worked out. Surprised that they couldn't re-sign Vinny, too bad, liked Vinny. A Foegle for Arvidson swap might help the roster balance issue
I wanted Debrusk too, but Bruce and David on Cult of Hockey pointed out that his points per 60 at even strength is really not as high as you’d think. Arvidson and skinner have him beat by good margin.
Agree with you & the gentlemen @ the cult of hockey about Jake he didn't pass the eye test imo, the few times I watched the Bruins & their announcers barely mentioned him in their broadcasts. I think in Jake the Oilers would have gotten a streaky goal scorer like we lost in Warren Foegle minus McLovin's speed. LA signed @3.5 where Van signed 5 or 5.5? Ouch😢 I think we dodged a bullet.
My WTF moment was from Minnesota wayyyy overpaying Middleton and Trenin, then signing 8 2-way deals. It drives me insane but they just love to overpay for mediocre aging players, while also giving them too much term.
If Toronto Fans are actually saying you can LTIR Tanev's contract then they do not understand how LTIR works. Any LTIR contract has to be factored in when the season starts. You cannot just acquire LTIR contracts and then go over the cap. Doesn't work that way. Its why when Las Vegas got the Shea Weber contract, they found out that they couldn't use it and maximize their cap, they then moved it to the Arizona Coyotes who used Weber's contract to get to the salary floor. Any LTIR contract is basically dead money for a team. They have to account for it on their cap structure. When the season starts, a team cap structure must be compliant including LTIR contracts. After this is done, only then can a team declare that certain players will go on long term injury reserve. Then that money is freed to sign players and do trades. But teams then have to remember that those contracts will roll over and will have to be accounted for next season including any LTIR contracts. For Las Vegas and teams like Colorado it means some serious cap juggling. Colorado is seriously fucked right now. They can't even fully field a roster since they have Landeskog and Nichushkin contracts on the books. That is 13 million that they can't use. If Tanev ever retires, then that is 4.5 million of dead money that will sit for years.

73 of Montour's points came in 2022-23. Plus Skjei has much better underlying metrics and is an all-around better defenseman IMO. Montour is overpaid by probably 2-3 million/yr and Stephenson's contract is horrific lol
@@kojhuj oh it’s amazing production, but only in one season it looks like an outlier to me, I mean I don’t dislike Seattle and hope it works out! I just don’t think he’ll produce like he did in Florida but I could easily be proven wrong
I don't know about Stammer, I mean, he can fall off a cliff here. Going to a new team, new system, new building. I mean he'll most likely get 25 goals easy, but I think he may be hard pressed to hit 30, he's getting older, and in sports age can hit you pretty fast. Even if he does manage 35/40 goals this year, those next three he could really drop off. I get what Tampa did though - this is a business in the end and you need to look after your team first. It's not personal, it's business (as Michael Corleone would say)
I think the players Vancouver signed are good, but the term on debrusk is a little bit much, and also they lost more than they gained, I believe they got younger but they overall got worse imo. I also think people don’t give enough credit to Toronto, aside from their bottom 6, their top 6 is great, their defence is looking a lot better and they got some stability in net.
I had my wires crossed, meant to say Elias Lindholm, which was clearly labeled under the Bruins talking point later in the video lol it happens to me regularly
I can see how you put Edmonton as winners but they need to focus more on their defense because as high power their offense is, they wont win a cup unless they address it.
is interesting when they couldn't score in the game 7 final game. Bolstering offense was a good call. I do think they would benefit from a decent D man too though
EDIT: at around 4:25 I accidentally say the Canucks lost Elias Pettersson when I meant to say Elias Lindholm, my bad! 😅
As an Oilers fan, I bet your brain just switched to saying that bc Petterson owns the Oilers. 😂
@@kigasixtyfive Does he? Didn’t he have 1 goal in 7 games against the Oilers in the playoffs? Doesn’t sound like someone who “owns” anyone lol

Toronto's defense is a bunch of second and third pairing guys along with some AHL'ers. There's nobody that drives play on their back end.
I agree they addressed the defence and added a good goalie, they will be really hard to play against next year.

Couldn't afford to give term to anyone really since they have raises to give Drai and Bouchard next season
