I feel ppl are not taking into account that back on water 7 and even before that Usopp was pretty much treated like fodder unintentionally by the crew. Man was used as the scape goat more than anyone else took arguably the worse beatings in the crew now we cut to water 7 where he gets jumped not once BUT 2 TIMES and robbed then gets talked to like a kid by the crew on some "you know better " type energy and icing on the cake Luffy y'know his best friend tells him in the most LUFFY type way "you know this ship that you love so much??😁 yeah well we're replacing it and i made the call" in the most nonchalant easy going whatever way possible even pulled out a magazine like "these look really nice right??😁" like bruh I'd be upset like usopp too!! The man already felt like he was holding the crew back now he has to hear his own captain tell him "merry is just a ship she's not a person" luffy is supposed to be the emotional aware one of the crew but at this moment he didn't try AT ALL to see and speak to usopp in a way that wasn't disrespectful. FRANKY did a better job telling usopp and he's the dude that robbed him in the first place!!
Usopp is hands down the most trash straw hat, maybe even character in the whole show. After makin the staffs for nami, he has almost zero value smh they way usopp fought luffy in water 7 but ANY other opponent he faces he runs away , will never sit right with me. LEAVING ROBIN?! Na usopp is fried lol
Blame oda for that, and his refusal of hiring editors that can put more sense into the story. Remember how he went through that training with Hercules? Came to sabaody buff with a new kit? Why hasn't he used any of it....at all. Maybe once-thrice maximum. Why is he not being positioned as a sniper? Wouldn't a coward want to hide at a faraway vantage point to go and snipe enemies and provide cover? So many fumbles in the story overall, so many characters wasted and thrown to the dust. So many contradictions and shit that wasn't ever addressed
