He MUST be sentenced for his crimes from this trial and we MUST have that evidentiary hearing for January 6th. The American people have a right to know the truth and why he can’t be let back in the White House
While we wait there is a lot more new Jan 6 evidence shown in the 6 day Colorado 14th Amendment trial in full video on CSPAN (Anderson v Griswold), as they proved it was an insurrection and Trump incited it. Such as, he only considered 10,000 National Guard troops to use in a procession to intimidate Congress, not to protect it! Well worth watching as a follow up to Jan 6 Committee hearings as they use unpublicized findings from their final report and new witness testimony.
If only sentencing occurred immediately after a guilty verdict, we wouldn't be dealing with this nonsense.

He has no immunity in two ways;
One) He was not president when these crimes were committed, he was running for office.
Two) The 'crimes' he committed, while he was president, were not parts of his presidential duties but, private matters.

He chose to break the law- with choices come consequences. I am a retired teacher. Sone families don’t establish clear boundaries or clear consequences about crossing those boundaries. This is what I see with Trump. He never acknowledges or respects boundaries and so he does not accept consequences. He died not have a filter for remorse or guilt.

I believe that Trump doesn't so much plan to break the law. He simply does things and he thinks he should be able to do it and that nobody should say anything, he should be free to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. If he purposely set the WH on fire he would still say it's a witch hunt because he should be allowed to do anything at all! He cannot commit any kind of a crime, it's impossible because he does no wrong. He is and will always be innocent, always persecuted.

Garland inherited a DOJ that had been fucked sideways by Bill Barr. It was a hard job. However he is still too slow and politically timid for this moment. Judges that were Scholars of the Constitution advised S Court that an insurrectionist was not eligible for holding any office in the U S government based on the 14th Amendment. But they over ruled and said that the Amendment did not disqualify Trump. And allowed a felon to run for President t agIn, then gave him immunity that he uses for all the criminal actions.

I assume the judge has his reason for not doing so. Some people think if he was to be jailed, even for perfectly legitimate reasons, that it might support the theory/lie/conspiracy that the Dems have weaponized the DOJ against him.

All previous history indicates that this will be the case.
Trump will immediately appeal any ruling that doesn't vacate his convictions. The appellate court will take months to decide and will grant him a stay. Then there is the appeal to the SC. Still more months for the appeal to be heard and more time until the SC issues a ruling. During all this the case is stayed which means no sentencing until way after the election.

Merchan is NOT going to delay the sentencing date. He already delayed the original starting date of the trial by 3 weeks because of issues with discovery. He wants the case to be over and done with!!
