Didn't notice much of a difference between DUKE and Streetfighter cost wise, i have streetfighter and my friend has SuperDuke 1290, i pay just slightly more for maintenance and parts than he is.
Funny you saw that as I was looking at these both side view and the wheelbase on both look rather short so I'm now going to Google the length (1488 mm DUCATI) and (1482 mm KTM) My bmw s1000r (1422 mm) However doesn't feel it I sat on the ducati and it felt shorter. I think the handlebar reach contributes to this feeling. The street fight felt a lot more upright.
I just bought a Ducati as well and the setup does take getting used to. My theory though why the naked bikes are not linear is because they want it to ride like a cafer racer when around town, and perform like a true track bike when opening it up it in the higher RPMs. But I could be wrong.
The ducati street fighter and the super moto are the only 2 bikes that have gotten my attention in the past few years. Willing to sell ktm exc 500 f to buy one of these 2 ducatis
Have you thought about the new 1390? I just do know if enough of an update to justify it. The gen2 look better in every way except the headlight. I have a 18 1290R now bought it new 21k on it now 100% trouble free. Except a radiator 😬.
I’ve owned both at the same time. The ktm feels like a big supermoto with a kinda agricultural engine . The SF is a race bike with straight bars and flat out rips .
That Duc sounds gnarly with the arrow pipe, but I'm probably going to get a Super Duke myself. Parts and maintenance costs on the Duc are insane

I love that Walterrific blurs out the speedometer whenever he get absurdly fast...
I wonder if the shape of the tank isn't making ducati feel longer

Seems so smooth to ride
dude, it is crazy seeing you drive the same roads I do. Hello from Shawnee!
You know your "texting and driving like it's 1990" hoodie? Well I got engaged in it 😂 idk, I thought it was funny/neat lol
I love that you are make video more regularly
Hey Walter, what road were you on at 11:40? Looks like a nice ride.

I don't know if those two are on the same playground to compare with your exc500 tho.

wheelbase plays a big factor.

I think the Duc is way better.
Ktm is pure shity qualetie.
Speed triple are the King of the Kings
My 2023 has pretty great build quality. It's not on par with Ducati or Aprilia but it's still better than any Japanese brand.
The build quality on both my 2020 1290 SDR and 2023 690 SMCR are good quality solid builds.
I enjoy riding those same South JOCO roads. I like the jaunt to Hillsdale Lake, to Louisburg and back to South Olathe.
