i cary a SwissTool RS in my belt for14 years now and have served me very well, outdoors and urban, built as a tank, no wear, no malfunctions, very happy with it. Bought two more for my daughter and my grandson.
After years with Leatherman I got a swisstool some months back... I would never go back. My last Leatherman is in my range bag, but the Swiss tool is now my daily.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I think it's mostly just what fits you most. Even with cars (supercars and special purpose aside) every standard car can match most of your transport needs. Some want a Mercedes because reasons, some like BMW, and others drive a camry and go to the same places and need the same time. The swisstool does everything I need if I don't have real tools, and I have more confidence in it since I used it heavily without anything giving up. I can't say that for all Leatherman I owned over the years. :-)
I agree mostly... but your comparison of one as a finely tuned luxury car and a cheaper family car is probably a little over the top. The spirit is smooth, the Swisstool is a little clunkier like the Wave. The Charge TTi is as smooth as the Spirit, but unecessary mostly. I also didn't bring it up much in the review but the one handed opening of the Leatherman Wave blade versus the fingernail bending opening of the swisstool knives... but again they're different tools. Different people value different things out of a tool.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I thought about the victorinox as the merc, the Leatherman as the bnw, and more like a gerber as the camry - it works in most places as good, but maybe after 20 years you still use a merc or a BMW, but not the camry ;-(

Whenever im feeling ...down, maybe even a little depressed, I come and watch your video's. Just to remind me some other dude *sounds* more depressed than me. And that makes me happier. Now hearty heart my damn comment!
I was a huge leatherman fan! But I was tired of having to send it in once a year for warranty, 11 years ago I bought a Swiss tool and have never had to send it in!
Advanced Knife Bro With you on that Charge TTi. I carry one for the last the last 10 years! About time someone else recognize the shit out of it. Or maybe not. I’ll take the risk.
The mini-pliers on Victorinox pocket knives is not a small version of a multi-tool pliers. It is light, close work, and even a super tweezer. Or power finger top. Hardly junk! In computer chassis and small enclosed mechanical or electrical devices they ate better then a clunky big MT pliers head. The Swiss Army SOLDIER KNIFE is officially used in a number of armies as a utility knife. Last year it went on the list of official procurable knives for US soldiers. Same as the Swiss model except oxide black coating and the letters 'US' on the scales. A number of armies have long experience with Victorinox knives. Utility pocket knives, bayonets, and multitools. Apples and orange! But otherwise A great review--thanks.
David Siegel There’s a lot of knives that are procurable by the military. When I was in the Army, the PX clothing sales sold everything from Victorinox Classics to lots of shitty Gerber knives. Soldiers buy their own knives and MT stuff (at a discount). The gub’ment doesn’t issue it. Yes, they even sold the Victorinox Classic SD with black scales and U.S. markings on it. So don’t read too much into that. Soldiers can buy and carry a lot of their own personal preferences.
@@totallyfrozen He doesn't mean available for private purchase in the PX/NAAFI or other shop. He means actually issued to all serving soldiers, and this is the case in the German and Swiss Armies amongst others with Victorinox.
I live outside the USA, i live in Switzerland and the have had no problem with the Warranty on Leatherman tools, just send it back to the store i bought it from and got it fixt. Good service. Even Though i live in Switzerland i have neven seen anyone use a Victorinox Multi Tool, probably because it sucks, if you actually use the tool get a Leatherman.
The quality on the Swiss tool is unmatched. I had my SAK since 1985 and it is still going strong. When you open the tools of the Leatherman, having to open the pliers is annoying and then the rest of the tools bunch up. With the Swiss tool everything comes out smoothly and not interfering with any other adjacent tool. The craftsmanship is perfect on the Swiss tool!
Hi from the UK. Really enjoyed the video. I purchased a Swiss Tool back in 1998 (no scissors included then). It is a superb piece of engineering. I have used it a lot over the decades and there is hardly a mark on it. It also came with a very high quality leather sheath, still in good condition today. I like Leatherman tools and own a few but the Swiss Tool has always been a firm favorite.
I don't agree with your negative comments on the pliers of the standard 91mm SAK. Their purpose is different to the one of the pliers-based SwissTool. The former is meant to be a pocket knife while the latter is a multitool. What each set of pliers can achieve is obviously not comparable and both have their limitations, but that's because they're different tools, not because one is simply “useless". Every tool has its limitations.
Ok great. One person said that small pliers like the one on the SAK work well inside computer cases. I’ve never ever had a use for pliers that small. I generally use small bit drivers or sockets for those because it’s a better tool. And as far as your comments of a 91mm being a pocket knife and a Leatherman being a “multitool”... A pocket knife does not generally include pliers. We call that a multitool. And the 91mm SAK with pliers takes up nearly as much pocket room as a standard PST. Your experience apparently is those are useful pliers, but never in my life have I ever seen a person use a Swiss Army knife pair of pliers. Full size multitool pliers yes... often. I mean not as much as a real set of pliers.
Advanced Knife Bro : I see. Well, I own two Leatherman (Wave and Blast) as well as various 91mm and 111mm Victorinox knives with pliers. I’ve used either models countless times. The 911mm pliers can be useful for pulling things. Would you mind watching a short clip that exemplifies it?
I carried a leatherman rebar for the longest time. Then I got a leatherman wave+ as an impulse buy. Now I’m carrying a leatherman juice s2 and I love it.
I have a Wave as potato bag in my house A Surge as potato bag at my truck console A ST300 and Charge + G10 at my belt for work Finally a Swisstool and Pioneer X at my belt for casual ...... Swisstool is more for general use. General hybrid pliers and tools, the precision is magnificent and they do that second blade like they know you carry a primary one (which I do : Buck 110 G10 Slim Pro SV35N) And Leatherman for people in USA is the work horse, more practical and pliers are electrical dedicated. I prefer the Swisstool pliers for mechanical bolts but Leatherman for tradesman Both are great...... Choose whatever you like more....... Is not gerber or SOG to say is trash.... LOL
lol Leatherman can’t never beat Victorinox multitool. Leatherman and Victorinox both produce excellent multi-tools. But what are the differences between the two brands? Victorinox the finish is always good. Scales and tools are always nicely polished and all edges are nicely rounded. The adjustment of all moving parts is also great for almost all tools. This finish is the result of a special, secret process in the Victorinox factory. Not only does this feel great in hand, it also ensures that you rarely come across Victorinox multi-tools with rust stains. When you compare this to Leatherman you’ll see that different parts are often a little sharper along the edges. It also occurs that the tools are not as equally adjusted, or have a little more wiggle room. In addition, you come across rust stains a little more often on Leatherman multi-tools.Swiss quality against USA.Swiss- for one step up. Whichever of the two brands you decide to go with: both produce excellent tools.
Without a QUESTION the Leatherman Surge does EVERYTHING RIGHT-EVERYTHING! The swiss tool X does everything with a PRESTIGE and refined look and feel, like a shiny DIAMOND with lots of BLING BLING, like in the movie blood diamond:) Polished at a jewelry store you will NOT want to REALLY use this SwiSS X:( Leatherman is a TIMEX and the Swiss TOOL a ROLEX! Every time the X tool comes out, people bow and stand back in AWE............carried EVERYDAY in a max pedition single magazine pouch custom fit is EXCELLENT :)
Victorinox Swisstool 👍👍; Leatherman 👍. The original Leatherman Wave was much better than the current model. Nothing beats a Victorinox. If you are going to carry a multitool, carry the best - Victorinox!
Thanks for posting all of the awesome and honest multi tool review videos - I watched them all, and read all of the comments (that took me a while!), and it helped me finally decide to get the black/silver Wave+ (rather than a Rebar, Charge, or one of the Victorinox multitools), as a gift for my friend, who might get a job either with the Coast Guard or a commercial sailing vessel. Now, I just have to decide which multitool I want to get for myself (it is between the Wave+, Surge, and Charge / Charge TTI), since I think it would be handy to have a versatile multitool on hand / in my toolbox, etc. to use around the house, in my car, on camping trips, etc. Maybe you could do a comparison video and highlight some more of the differences between those three/four? I know you prefer the Wave+, but it would be nice to see a really comprehensive, in-depth, side by side comparison/discussion of what seem to be some of the best of the Leathermans, and get some additional thoughts and recommendations.
Great review! Love all the objective points of comparison. I’m happy with my SwissTool RS, but I’m an occasional user at best. The large scissors are outstanding and very functional. The serrated “rescue” blade is nice to have. The ruler is surprisingly useful - very handy. The smaller SwissTool Spirit X looks nice, being smaller and with a more ergonomically designed handle. I’ll be interested if you ever review one. Unfortunately in eschewing the flat handles for the nice curved design, the Spirit loses that great ruler.
I try to be as objective as possible- and point out some of my biases if I have some. There should be enough objective information in any of my videos to inform the viewer- even if you disagree with my biases or think I’m using it wrong. Thanks man!
I love these tools I just wish one of them had some sort of mini hammer tool or a spot on the tool that has a little extra heft to it for smaller nails. Thanks for the video! 👍
the can openers and awls in these can save you in a pinch with alternative uses in maintenance work I've found. as far as real work these tools are invaluable to have on your belt. The parts the get complained about aren't usually from anyone using them in the real world however. hobbyists, and "backpackers"
You know what’s odd... I get much less of these snarky comments on my Leatherman videos. It seems the only people who really know how to use Their multitools correctly are the Victorinox crowd. Just ask them!
The Can opener on the leatherman is based on the model by Wenger. Another Swiss army producer that was bought by victorinox. So they could use this style of opener on their knives but they decided to use the less efficient
Yes however it’s kind of hard to fit in the belt sheath. That’s why the Wave and the Surge are better- you can fit the bit extension, and both bit kits in a single sheath. I’ve even seen people (on the internet) mod the leatherman bit drive adapter to fit the Victorinox. Plus the wave and surge have more comfortable pliers handles.
I have got a swisstool from 1996. And i use it all the time. I can said than nothing is broken, even if i have made many many things with it. I recommand it to the people who whant to have a tool who is not a bullshit.
Leatherman warranty in Australia was awesome! I used it 5 times...bloody busted Leathermans, I could’ve bought another one with the postage I paid. Now, the warranty sucks and ain’t worth a pinch. I’ve moved to Swisstools now and sold my Surge. It gave me a limp.
I would like to throw in another Multi Tool I would love to see you review is the SOG Power Assist or the Power Lock. Those are my two favorite all things considered. Great review. I have never tried the Swiss Tools but I do have a new Champ.
Great vid. I agree the Surge for the big manly dude, the Wave for the smart old man like me who understands the use of a multi tool can never be as good as using the right single tool. One thing I noticed you didn't say, well maybe I didn't hear it because I dropped my hearing aid in the middle of the vid. The Leatherman tools can be taken apart, whereas the Swiss tools can not be taken apart readily. That means you are at the manufacturer's mercy. I changed my knife on my Wave from the 420 to a 30V steel. Found the 30V knife on Ebay at a great price and changed it. Can't do that with the Swiss tools. I, like you, need psyche help when it comes to multi tools. I don't have as many as you do, because I became addicted to Sig Sauer and H&K, so I am always broke. I have about 15 multitools. My favorite are Leatherman, followed by Swiss, followed by the real Schrade (American made) and lastly SOG.
I don’t take apart my multitools much- but that’s a good point. I’m a fan of the more comfortable handle on the Wave over the Charge- and that s30v blade in my mind is the only real advantage.
You don't need to take a Swisstool apart to clean it, you just wash it in soap and hot water...which you can't do with a Leatherman, because it will rust
A good review! Knew nothing about that Swiss Version. I don’t actually have a bunch of Leatherman, really only one that I liked with needle nose pliers and a wire cutter I used for fencing projects
Lol. Your humor and sarcasm makes your video more informative! You were terrific on Knifenuts podcast! You showed No sarcasm there. Just some boredom. Anyway that got me to subscribe here.
I would ask that you always add at least one thing to the review that is not directly related to the subject. Just to annoy the rivet counter out there. Epic AKB. Lovin the channel.
Multi-tools are nerdier than knives. I don't know why, but every tech nerd I know carries a multi-tool. Most of the non-tech nerds I know don't share whether they carry or not.
It's because nerds work in areas like IT and engineering, so they'll actually need to use something more than a knife blade, like pliers. and screwdriver which are the main tools on a multitool.
Bro, you forgot the corkscrew. The Swisstool (all of the versions) come with a little hole on either side into which a detachable corkscrew (sold separately) can be inserted and used to open up a yummy bottle of rose. You can order a gigantic sheath that has a special place for the corkscrew, but, otherwise, you'd have to carry a weird detachable tool loose in your pocket with your condom from 1985 and breath mints. The sheath is about the size of 4 Wave sheaths rubber banded together. Anyway, there you go....a "secret" tool on the Swisstool!
Oh. No. Not the. Corkscrew. Ha ha... I literally had no idea. I like the mini bit driver that also comes with some- that as far as I can tell you can't actually attach to it, and it's basically a separate tool. I may be wrong about that- I spend about 30 minutes trying to figure that out from pictures on Monday.
It's a huge pain in the ass, which is one of the reasons why I usually fall back to a Leatherman for the pliers and a SAK for the "socializing" tools (you know, the toothpick, tweezers, and scissors for when you're at a cocktail party and have to run to the bathroom for an emergency grooming moment) and the corkscrew and bottle opener (for when you're at a Superbowl party with a lot of chicks who want wine and yet the host has no fucking corkscrew). But it's cool to have and even cooler when you know about it. Kind of like the little hole behind the corkscrew in some SAKs where you can store a pin. You know....for sticking shit.
The SwissTool is more or less standard in Europe. Official danish designation is “M11”, and it was introduced in 2011/2012, though the original press release is no longer available on the military webpage. Here’s another article about it translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fkrigeren.dk%2Fnyt-multi-tool-erstatter-den-rode-foldekniv-i-haeren%2F It replaced the old model. Foldekniv M/92, which basically means folding knife model 92, which was also a Victorinox knife, and probably a model that “no army anywhere would use” : goo.gl/images/cZcjo8
It was a joke man. I was referring to the little red ones. Not the swisstool. This article explains the actual service issues knives more. www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Soldier+1961 I sincerely regret making this joke, and have had to explain myself many time in the comments here. I don’t know who I get lectures more from Swiss Army knife and victorinox fans or Buck fans.
Advanced Knife Bro the joke is fine with me, and the original M/92 was certainly in a completely other class than the current SwissTool. The old folding knife was probably more for personal grooming than actual field use. I own a SwissTool given to me by a danish soldier because he preferred his (personal) Leatherman Wave. They also have regular boot knives, the M/96 which is a modified Glock Feldmesser (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glock_knife) without a sharp edge, which basically just makes it a pointy piece of steel.
I am in Australia now, I do find swisstool with non locking blade option. Can you confirm how the blades are getting opened in non locking version, is it through slip joints?
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I live in the Republic of New Jersey, and a multi tool is about the only thing I can legally carry everyday. They basically want you unarmed. Your only allowed to carry a 1/2 ounce of pepper spray and we have no concealed carry. We are basically Sheeple🐑
Do multi-tool reviews also reduce the JPM (jokes per minuted) rate or is that just me? I agree that it's serious business though. Knives, lights, and beer are fun, but multi-tools are for actually getting shit done. You should check out the SOG powerlock. I had the original powerplier for over 20years before it finally couldn't take the abusive relationship any longer and broke down. I sent some pieces of it back to SOG and then sent me a brand new powerlock as a warranty (lifetime) replacement. If what you do the most with your plier-based multi-tool is "pliering things" then this is far and away the best that I've used. If SOG wont lend you a demo, I'd send you mine to try out (it probably needs a vacation already).
They do- however I think my Light reviews have a lower JPM. There’s just a lot to cover on a multitool- and if I want to make a relatively short video, but also informative- I do cut out some jokes. Also I had a limited time to work on this script- so there wasn’t a lot of time to go back and add jokes. Oh well. My leatherman Wave review has been my biggest review in a while- more than knives and beer- so I’m trying to get some more tool reviews in.
I'm looking forward to turning 40 in half a decade so maybe it will be acceptable to carry things like a multitool or, mainly, a phone on holsters on my belt. I don't think society would judge me too harshly, but for now, the wife has forbidden it. Oh, and I wanted to ask if those are your PA speakers and motorcycle. Are you currently going through a mid-life crisis you're not telling us about?
Looking forward to it. I ordered my first Leatherman (Charge tti +) around the same time you posted your Wave review. I've been carrying it every day since & absolutely love it. I don't know if the Wave has this, but if you open the saw, there's a lanyard ring on the Charge tti +. I had to use a pocket screwdriver to slide it out (or use the tweaker™) The Wave looks very very similar to the Charge. Like you said, a used Wave on flebay goes for around $45. I could easily use the remaining $125 on a Spyderco and/or Grain Belt.
The Wave does have that. I have never ever noticed it before you said something. The Wave and Charge are nearly the same in function, except the Charge has a modified serrated, an s30v main blade good for more cuts per shrapen, and a thicker more square plier handle.
Kinda makes the accessory lanyard ring that comes with the pocket clip seem a bit redundant. I've never handled a Wave. My first Leatherman was the Charge tti +. Got it a month or 2 ago. Bought it because of the materials. Just ordered a Juice S2 tonight. I can see how this can get addictive.
I love your reviews! You’re as hell. I have a swisstool and I hate it it just breaks thumb nails. Leatherman killed it with the Wave and Surge those are the tools I like.
Yes, shame Not in the quality. Try a swisstool and than can feel the difference in machining precision, tolerance, quality control, zero play etc, between USA manufacturing and Swiss manufacturing. Other level. I have 7 leatherman and 3 victorinox swisstool.
Even though i have a bunch of multitools ,i like watching your reviews. “Never seen broken plierheads on swisstools because no one buys them “ leatherman free “ look around if everyone is watching and flip them open” 😂 raw reality with some humor spices 🤣
Carry a Wenger Soldier for the can opener mostly. Can open a can faster & cleaner. The one (or many) time one has to open a can made from inferior metal and leaves metal slivers to impale your fingers with you may understand the preference to a push-type can opener. Carry a modified Leatherman Charge TTi as well, as I needed an awl on board. Great multipurpose cutting for thing materials, like removed grips from bikes. replacing rubber on motorbikes, cutting other materials or boring holes through stuff that you should not be cutting with a normal blade with, and also great in repairing electrical sockets & fuses with. Awl is a fantastic tool for the person that wants or needs one. Problem with Leatherman is the only tool that covers all bases is the Surge, which weighs nearly a pound, and bends belts trying to EDC one. Way too heavy and bulky. Why Leatherman did not shrink the Surge down to a Charge or Wave size has perplexed me for many years. So every other tool Leatherman makes they leave out something. Every tool... Was debating about getting a Swiss Tool to EDC since am nearly fed up waiting for Leatherman to evolve, tool wise. Guess their idea is they can sell two tools to do what only one should. Have ordered spare Victorinox push-type can openers to see if I can fit one into the modified Charge TTi that I own. When I get the time, and if it works, I'll keep what I got. If not, and still temped, will get a Swiss Tool. Cannot find one tool that does it all with a decent warranty to boot. Modifying a tool to do what you want voids the warranty. So I carry a Wenger Soldier's knife & a Leatherman Charge TTi until I find an equinox multitool.
Didn't see a video from you on them but have you used or reviewed a Leatherman Style (CS or PS)? Strangely I keep seeing them paired with random Victorinox when I'm trying to snipe Victors on Ebay. Edit: I think I spot one during the (now outdated I'm sure) multitool collection shot.
If you look closely in the beginning there's two style PS. I plan on reviewing both in the coming months. The Micra I feel is a little more of a well rounded tool, and features mostly the same stuff.
Said it in the video. the Swiss Tool original. Check out this wiki for an explainer: www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=SwissTool#SwissTool_Original_-_3.0323_
There is probably truth to that... surge has a more comfortable pliers handle... I mean at least looking at it. Generally your hand squeezes tightest when using the pliers... and if it’s a comfortable blade handle or pliers I pick the pliers... and carry a dedicated knife if I’m using it hard- which is rarely.
You should do a review a Gerber center drive. Most important tools on outside, and hex bit center screwdriver and one hand opening. It's made in the USA so it's good quality as well.
I might. I’ve stayed away from Gerber after not liking their rattling sliding plier heads. I understand this is completely irrational- but I think I need to take a second look at some of their newer tools.
Victorinox swisstool and spirit have the possibility to use all standard bits, no less, no more than leatherman wave surge. You buy the mini ratchet or mini wrench that fit in a specific shit.
Could you do a review of the Wave Plus and a Mikkeller beer? (Or a Ærø beer or a Ølværket beer or.. ) We are quite proud of our beers in Denmark and it would be cool to hear what you think.
1000 IBUs. I have since paid more for beers, but this was about 7 or 8 years ago and it was only a small bottle. 11.2oz maybe? A beer chain in the midwest called Friar Tuck's carries a lot of Mikkellers, and other odd European beers. Now that I live in Virginia it's much harder to find.
Mikkel (the brewer of Mikkeller beer) has a twin brother who left and startet brewing beer in New York sone years ago. His brand was called Evil Twin Brewing (No joke!) Maybe his beers are sold in Virginia - or maybe odd beers just don't sell well in Virginia.
7:00 haha, i've been EXCLUSIVELY using my various SAK's can opener for about half my life. As a kid, when i was living with my parents, they had a proper can opener, somehow i never liked it much...we bought an electric one for a bit, HORRIBLE crappy thing - good idea, bad design/execution. IDK why, i could well just spend $5 to get a proper can opener, but I somehow still prefer the victorinox's one BY FAR to all the can openers i've tried over the years (heck, i have one lying at home right now, but still reach for the victorinox when i need to open a can of tomato paste or something).
One day maybe. I used to drive this in Missouri but I don’t have a motorcycle designation for my current state. It’s inspected and plated- but I have to take my tests- which I don’t have much time for.
Was going to comment on a brilliant joke you made, but got distracted.... if your review wasn’t so long I’d go back and listen again, but who has that kind of time?! Lol. Keep’m coming. 😁
Swisstool is great (I own several) but you need another, smaller multitool to get the tools out, or you'll lose your nails. The Swisstool Spirit has mercifully fixed this problem.
I’d say a multi tool in a belt pouch is more akin to those bros who carry their keys clipped to their belt loop with a massive, obnoxious carabiner. Also, people who take the doors off their Wrangler.
Now you got me interested... while working i tend to have a swiss army knife in my left pocket, a small flashlight in my right pocket and my keys on a "big carabiner on my belt loop" but tucked into the front of the left pocket. And the phone is in a belt pouch. (because where to put it otherwise?) So what does that say about me? Oh and to add that: as a conscript i used my swiss army knife quite often.
I dont know if im unlucky or what. I broke my waves pliers pulling out a small to medium size nail. I then broke my Ps4 scissor, just snaped cutting paper. Utterly crap, brittle steel as fuck. I then kinda broke my swiss tool spirit, somehow the wirecutter are to soft. I was cutting a nail, and a notch was left in the wirecutter, which hinders its smooth action. What brand is next? Gerber? Nah. Wtf, what have happened to the good old quality?
There was a guy who posted under one of the videos from India I believe- he was mad. But this is good to know- do you have to ship it to the US though?
Leatherman multi tools are still my shit, but I can attest to the durability of the swisstool. I've given my dad several good quality multi tools and the only one to ever survive and currently reside on his belt(because he's an old man) is a swisstool. That's all I got to say bout that......
i cary a SwissTool RS in my belt for14 years now and have served me very well, outdoors and urban, built as a tank, no wear, no malfunctions, very happy with it. Bought two more for my daughter and my grandson.

Interesting. I have both Swiss Tools and this has not been my experience. Guess I find the tool differences on the Leatherman Eave more useful.

I’d like a crunch review sometime. A popular and broadly appealing object like that would get at least 800 lifetime views
I plan on this. I'm gonna do the charge TTi first, then maybe the Crunch since one person asked for it.
Advanced Knife Bro With you on that Charge TTi. I carry one for the last the last 10 years! About time someone else recognize the shit out of it. Or maybe not. I’ll take the risk.
Advanced Knife Bro I'd like a Cap'n Crunch review sometime. With AND without crunchberries, because science.
Here I thought he meant the Crunch chocolate bar. Do one of those too!
marshalllaw123 Read Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon for the ultimate Cap'n Crunch tutorial.
David Siegel
There’s a lot of knives that are procurable by the military.
Please tell me, is it allowed in the UK to carry Swisstool with you? Won't this be a problem with the police?
Here it goes: ua-cam.com/video/VRiTABRQOjk/v-deo.html
Man, I love your humor! Great review. Thank you!
I carried a leatherman rebar for the longest time. Then I got a leatherman wave+ as an impulse buy. Now I’m carrying a leatherman juice s2 and I love it.
All of those are good!
I am new to this channel, but I already feel very sarcastic and grumpy. I like it :-)
Welcome aboard!
You''ll also soon be clinically addicted to IPA
I have a Wave as potato bag in my house
A Surge as potato bag at my truck console
A ST300 and Charge + G10 at my belt for work
Finally a Swisstool and Pioneer X at my belt for casual
...... Swisstool is more for general use. General hybrid pliers and tools, the precision is magnificent and they do that second blade like they know you carry a primary one (which I do : Buck 110 G10 Slim Pro SV35N)
And Leatherman for people in USA is the work horse, more practical and pliers are electrical dedicated. I prefer the Swisstool pliers for mechanical bolts but Leatherman for tradesman
Both are great...... Choose whatever you like more.......
Is not gerber or SOG to say is trash.... LOL
I am a barber, and I have used Leatherman scissors to get an errant hair here and there.
lol Leatherman can’t never beat Victorinox multitool.
I use my pliers for pliering and my scissors for scissoring. Knives are for knifing.
This guy gets it
I used to use my hook for hooking, but it turns out that’s not legal in my state. Who knew?🤷🏻♂️
Cringe comment.
Victorinox Swisstool 👍👍; Leatherman 👍. The original Leatherman Wave was much better than the current model. Nothing beats a Victorinox. If you are going to carry a multitool, carry the best - Victorinox!
You are the only creator that can make me watch a 10+ min. video about a multitool.
They’re almost as boring as flashlight reviews!
Thanks for continuing to create videos. I enjoy the variety and appreciate the effort.
Thanks man!
Love my Leatherman Wave. Love your reviews.
Thanks man!
Thanks man!
Advanced Knife Bro You’re welcome. By the way, loved your appearance on Knife Nuts!
Thank you!
File rides just fine behind the Surge in its holster. Love that one. Would consider a Wave probably but I am cheap.
Standard SAK pliers are the best tool ever for pulling splinter from monster wood splinter to tiny metal ones.
The Can opener on the leatherman is based on the model by Wenger. Another Swiss army producer that was bought by victorinox. So they could use this style of opener on their knives but they decided to use the less efficient
I found This victoriknox multi tool in the forrest Yesterday, Thank you to you that lost it 😊
The Super tool can also take a bit driver adapter than fits over the phillips head driver.
Victorinox have 2 accessories to use standard bit. The mini ratchet and the mini wrench. They fit in a optional shit of swisstool and spirit
I don’t know how to spell ‘genesequoi’, but I feel Victorinox has more of it than Letherman does.
Spike Bachman Je ne sais quoi
@@huejanus5505 merci!
The large flat head w/ wire strippers is also a chisel 👍
You are a good script writer. I like your style.
I think the Swisstool needs 7 or 8 more flatheads
I would like to throw in another Multi Tool I would love to see you review is the SOG Power Assist or the Power Lock. Those are my two favorite all things considered. Great review. I have never tried the Swiss Tools but I do have a new Champ.
I’ve had suggestions for this- I’m gonna start hunting for some used deals on one.
I laughted my ass of, awesome and funny review!
Cheers!
Ahh a fencer! I mean not a swordsman, but you know what I mean.
Hey, I have the mechanic! The pliers are more like jewelers pliers..... I use them when taking apart my laptop.
I'm we with you bro, I love my Leatherman Wave 🌊
Me too- and I even have a charge!
Now for a serious comment: thank you bro! I’ll point some European to why here in Murica we go for Leatherman!
Thanks man!
Lol. Your humor and sarcasm makes your video more informative! You were terrific on Knifenuts podcast! You showed No sarcasm there. Just some boredom. Anyway that got me to subscribe here.
Glad you liked it! And thanks for checking out the channel!
Advanced Knife Bro by the way. The Wave or the Surge? And why.
Looks like you watched the Wave review- thanks man!
I would ask that you always add at least one thing to the review that is not directly related to the subject. Just to annoy the rivet counter out there. Epic AKB. Lovin the channel.
Nice review. I have a Swiss Army knife with pliers. I use them to pull nose hairs. I am listening to the podcast you were on too. Interesting.
Interesting... are you sure you were listening to the right one?
Nice review. Worked with a guy on a site, that had that tool. I use the Rebar. Man, it sure pissed him off seeing that Leatherman every day..
Here’s another article about it translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fkrigeren.dk%2Fnyt-multi-tool-erstatter-den-rode-foldekniv-i-haeren%2F
It replaced the old model. Foldekniv M/92, which basically means folding knife model 92, which was also a Victorinox knife, and probably a model that “no army anywhere would use” : goo.gl/images/cZcjo8
It was a joke man. I was referring to the little red ones. Not the swisstool. This article explains the actual service issues knives more.
www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Soldier+1961
I sincerely regret making this joke, and have had to explain myself many time in the comments here.
Not a beer review but still very competent.
Beer review next week probably- shot it, just need to write the lols
I am in Australia now, I do find swisstool with non locking blade option. Can you confirm how the blades are getting opened in non locking version, is it through slip joints?
I wish they would replace the can and bottle opener with the combo opener in a bantam.
Then maybe add an extra flat head with some tool
Holy 💩 that’s an impressive multi tool collection!!!
It’s probably worth more than my 🚘
Might be worth more than my car
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I live in the Republic of New Jersey, and a multi tool is about the only thing I can legally carry everyday. They basically want you unarmed. Your only allowed to carry a 1/2 ounce of pepper spray and we have no concealed carry. We are basically Sheeple🐑
I'd be more worried about Yahoos running around with pepper spray personally.
Also I’ll try contacting SOG. I’ve always wanted to try one out.
6:13, those aren't all flathead screw drivers. The bigger one is more of a prybar type deal and the one with the strippers on it is a chisel
Jesus, I’m dying! Great review!
Thanks man!
😆🤣
just got a supertool and saw your review thanks and some of the jokes were hilarious.
Still on the way to discover Victorinox large 111mm awesomeness.
It’ll be a while yet.
In the end, which is better?
I'm looking forward to turning 40 in half a decade so maybe it will be acceptable to carry things like a multitool or, mainly, a phone on holsters on my belt. I don't think society would judge me too harshly, but for now, the wife has forbidden it.
Oh, and I wanted to ask if those are your PA speakers and motorcycle. Are you currently going through a mid-life crisis you're not telling us about?
I carry my tool when I wear a suit so you don’t see it. Also hiking or maybe yard work if I’m gonna need it.
Wow, small consolation for having to wear a suit every day I bet ;-)
I'm one of the 900 who watched your beer review. I also spied a Charge tti +. Nice!
Pliered that like button!
Yep... hopefully in a month or so I’ll do a comparison review of it and the Wave.
Looking forward to it. I ordered my first Leatherman (Charge tti +) around the same time you posted your Wave review. I've been carrying it every day since & absolutely love it.
I don't know if the Wave has this, but if you open the saw, there's a lanyard ring on the Charge tti +. I had to use a pocket screwdriver to slide it out (or use the tweaker™)
The Wave looks very very similar to the Charge.

You are important!
Where did you get your fold up case that holds your mutitools? I need one I have waaay too many. lol..
It’s a spydero knife roll
@@AdvancedKnifeBro Thanks!
Oof, can spot them in another video but not the one I'm commenting on...
What's the swiss tool model you have in the review??
Said it in the video. the Swiss Tool original. Check out this wiki for an explainer:
www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=SwissTool#SwissTool_Original_-_3.0323_
Advanced Knife Bro missed that part ☺ what model do u think it's better this one or the recent model??
Probably the newer model- if it were me I’d pick up a model straightedge blade and scissors
Advanced Knife Bro thaks bro. 👍
I have the victorinox rescue tool and the leatherman surge. While i think the victorinox is better made (finish), i vastly prefer the surge.
Advanced Knife Bro Awesome! Keep up the great videos!
Gerber hasn't been made in the USA since the 80s.
@@simonh6371 They explicitly have their high end tools made in the United States. Stuff like the center drive and their DOD contract things.

Super review...
Victorinox swisstool and spirit have the possibility to use all standard bits, no less, no more than leatherman wave surge.
You buy the mini ratchet or mini wrench that fit in a specific shit.
That is a separate tool
Does it have a lateral play on pliers?
Could you do a review of the Wave Plus and a Mikkeller beer? (Or a Ærø beer or a Ølværket beer or.. ) We are quite proud of our beers in Denmark and it would be cool to hear what you think.
I have had Mikkeller beers! The first time I ever paid $13 for a single beer!
Ouch! Was it worth it and which one was it?
One of their IPAs... I kept the bottle and I’ll tell you when I get home.
To each his own. The only time I ever do this is when I have no real can opener available- and a can to open. Which is very rare
I actually have a P38 in my kitchen draw, as well as a nice Ikea can opener. I find the P38 easier to use.
How about a review on the motorcycle ?
One day maybe. I used to drive this in Missouri but I don’t have a motorcycle designation for my current state. It’s inspected and plated- but I have to take my tests- which I don’t have much time for.
That's cool. I recently renewed my license and took a two day course.
Now I'm looking at motorcycles.i will carry a multi tool when a get a bike.
I'm from a time where you had to answer the phone to see who was on the other end....
Me too bro
Wow! That’s cool! I remember when you’d answer the phone but could only hear who was on the other end.
Was going to comment on a brilliant joke you made, but got distracted.... if your review wasn’t so long I’d go back and listen again, but who has that kind of time?! Lol. Keep’m coming. 😁
Exactly who has 11 minutes!
Swisstool is great (I own several) but you need another, smaller multitool to get the tools out, or you'll lose your nails. The Swisstool Spirit has mercifully fixed this problem.
Can’t wait to try one, one day.
I’d say a multi tool in a belt pouch is more akin to those bros who carry their keys clipped to their belt loop with a massive, obnoxious carabiner. Also, people who take the doors off their Wrangler.
I carry mine under a suit jacket so you don’t usually see it.
Carabiner bro here...got a Fox40 and CPR faceshield on that sucker as well. I'm ok with myself..
I wouldn't use a wirecutter to cut nails. You can use the file for that.
Best channel
Thanks dude!
You asked, so: the Leatherman waranty works here in EU just fine.
There was a guy who posted under one of the videos from India I believe- he was mad. But this is good to know- do you have to ship it to the US though?
Nope. 7 days and it came back. Good as new. Had a danish mail stamp, so never left the country.
Great to hear!
Leatherman multi tools are still my shit, but I can attest to the durability of the swisstool. I've given my dad several good quality multi tools and the only one to ever survive and currently reside on his belt(because he's an old man) is a swisstool. That's all I got to say bout that......
Sounds nice to me. I prefer the Leatherman, but if someone likes the swisstool and prefers it there’s nothing wrong with that.
