  • A view of Bristow / ERA Search and Rescue helicopters conducting their typical daytime and night time training operations and drills. They are currently based (displaced from 2021 Hurricane Season) at the Bristow Heliport at Acadiana Regional Airport in New Iberia, Louisiana. Their SAR fleet currently consists of Sikorsky S-76, Sikorsky S-92, and Leonardo AW-139 helicopters. Captured in this video are the S-92 performing daytime platform rescue, and the S-76 performing night time open sea and platform rescue training ops. I was filming a promotional video for a company at a hangar at night when the S-76 crew decided to drop right in on me and conduct water training over the seaway only 50 yards away. There are also a few cameos from other working S-92 helicopters at the end of the video. These are some of the typical sights I get to experience working as a pilot around the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
