Hi everyone, in this video i talk about the visa application process for those wanting to apply for a long-term visa for studies in Portugal exceeding 90 days. Hope this video helps! Let me know any questions you have below ! Also please remember to CHECK THE DESCRIPTION for information links to what I have mentioned in this video :) Happy Sunday!
Great info, yeah the accommodation seem to be like it will be the hardest and getting hold of the Embassy through email. I am on paused for this because I have some others things to deal with but hope I will be ready to start gathering all my stuff by November.
True both can be quite difficult . In the meantime, I would suggest to start getting the police report asap since Jamaica can be very slow and since it’s valid for a year that would be to your advantage and will give you time to gather the other documents. Also when you pay for “express” for the police report, it only starts from the date of your appointment. So it’s not necessarily express.
@ShauntelAngelica the police record is valid for a year in Jamaica I received mine in March and July I went to get my Portuguese passport they told me it's not valid anymore
Thanks so much for this. I have a quick question about the university application process: did they accept your original transcripts, or did you need to get these translated/stamped somewhere?
This video explains everything so well thank you so much! I have some questions; if you are in Europe, is it possible to email the required documents to a Portuguese consulate or do you have to make an appointment.? I am applying for a temporary student visa...any advice?
You are very welcome and sorry for my late response! I don't know what the process is for that, I would suggest contacting the consulate first to ask about the process. Since it has been some months since you posted this comment, did you by chance get this sorted out?
Hello dr . I don't know how to appreciate you for this information.i am from Cameroon with no Portuguese embassy except Nigeria. I have been wondering how to go about. I am already talking with a particular university but the process i keep hearing from other sources did scared me . Please did you not do medical? And if you did how did you do it,
Hi my university is called : Universidade Lusófona Humanidades e Technologia . The program I did is both in English and Portuguese with most classes in Portuguese . The teaches and colleagues though are quite accommodating with the language barrier and are willing to help you where you need help .
A bit confused on the accommodation part. So do we need to have an apartment already rented out before we even apply for the visa and go to the country? What if it doesn't get accepted in time
Hi, no you don't need to have one, but you need to show proof of accommodation, such as buying a legitimate itinerary which is one option as I suggested in the video. In the description, I provided links to websites that can provide accommodation itineraries. If this is still not clear, let me know, I'd be happy to further explain.
Hi, please contact your consulate/embassy on how they take the payment for the visa process. The link to where I bought my itinerary is in the video description. Did you already check there?
Yes! It really depends on what the school you are applying to says. My advice is to go out with confidence, put your best foot forward, and apply to the masters in finance programs you want. Take the chance!
Hi, I think overall the job seeking industry in Lisbon can be very difficult especially for students. There aren't necessarily a myriad of jobs reserved for students / fresh graduates. You have to search very hard to find something especially given that legally, students cannot work full time unless your residency card has a full work permit attached to it.
If by POF you mean proof of finance, the last time I checked, about a year ago on the EU website, it was €40 (euro) per day. I calculated this based on the length of my studies in Portugal, taking into account the months or years of my program. Additionally, it involves showing proof of upfront registration or tuition, depending on the requirements of the specific university in Portugal to confirm official enrollment in the program. But please double check this information!
This is the best video on UA-cam on this subject thank you very much for the detailed breakdown and insights
Thank you very much, and I am glad it was helpful!
The application form can be found in the description box (in English) so you can follow through while I am going through it in the video at 18:30
please do I have to add a letter of intent , if years is there a format
Brilliant job this was helpful. Best wishes
You’re welcome! Thank you
