I tried to keep this review shorter, I really did, but it turns out I had so much to say. My initial written review was over 2000 words long. And I feel like i still didn't cover ALL my thoughts. But these are the important ones. So I really hope you enjoy it!

My Grievous came missing his blaster! Definitely agree you should pay less for characters like Yoda!

Mine came with a blaster and then I lost it like a fool. Oh well, not like I was gonna use it anyway, and I got a E-5 Battle Droid blaster from my Padme (not the exact same blaster but he uses it in TCW so it works if I need it). But definitely quad saber is the way to go. I once had to return my Second Sister and get a new one because the first one I got was missing her Lightsaber and didn’t even notice until I got home!

I fucking died at the opening 😅 I’ve gotta say, my favorite version is the Tardikofsky version simply because he kinda scared me as a 7-8 year old. The cloak kinda makes me a little hesitant, as the design around the neck looks a bit odd, so it’s nice to hear some positive about it. Excellent review my friend!
The 2003 Clone Wars Series was pretty freest and easily the most formidable and menacing version of Grievous!
More prequel stuff this year! Windu, Grievous, B1 Battle Droid, Padme, Archive Yoda, Anakin, and Maul. They just need to release Dooku!!!

On par with Bandai I got a year or so ago. Only draw back is his height...needs a bit more in size.

this is one i want...havent seen any new star wars black series in a long time...had some archive figs come and go quickly but thats it.
great showing...some nice close shots there buddy, that digital print looks bad up close, but i agree with what you've said....im on the hunt!!

I'm happy he was as easy to get as he was. When it was announced I was fearing these would be the second coming of the gamorrean guards, and I'm glad we were all saved the frustration that came along with that release. Awesome figure, and definitely a nice addition to my collection!

Hey bud yet another good review. You're not the only one to not understand why they didn't close the capes bottom. Had they closed it, it would lay as good as it does.

I've been on the fence with this figure till I saw your review, great review, pushed me over the edge. I feel the same way you do to a tee about the figure and I was hoping he would be a bit more stable, but, you know what, I have a few action figure stands that would allow me to pose him any which way, so there, problem solved. We just got ours today and watched your review. Totally agree with the lack of rocker on feet...but...wow. He's amazing. We got him on sale at Gamestop for $18.99...happy about that.

After heavy consideration I decided to buy him.. It helped that I happened to find him at my local Barnes and Noble and since I'm a member I got 10% off! Also regarding the lack of wrist rotation, I'm not sure if you noticed by now since you've made this video but there is a swivel at the upper forearm just under the elbow joint that allows for practically the same movement as a wrist rotation. Really helps with posing!
I just saw him at Barnes & Noble Saturday and was pretty surprised by it. Yeah I totally missed the arm swivel in my review, thanks for the heads up.
I read it in some Star Wars book, General Grievous has electromagnets in his hips that keep the lightsabers on his hips.

Great review! 😄 The figure looks really good, I'm glad Hasbro have been improving the quality of their figures. Revenge of the Sith was the first Star Wars movie I saw, my brother loved Grievous and I still think the Grievous fight scenes are very well done. I'll stop there to keep this comment positive 😉

Excellent review Mike! This was one of those figures I couldn't wait to get. Like you I was a little disappointed with the lack of articulation in the feet. I feel it could have been better and there should have been more articulation in the hips to give a wider stance. The cape on mine is not sewn at the bottom either, and I like the cape, but feel that there is too much material around the neck area. Maybe I'm just nitpicking. I look forward to the next review.
Yeah it’s easy to nitpick little things like that on this figure, but I don’t want it to take away too much from an otherwise great figure.

Completely agree with you! I actually love this figure and versatility with posing. But yeah he falls over once a day, sometimes twice. And the cape does have room for improvement. I’m sure they’ll be some custom cape options out there. And I’m fairly certain my cape is seen at the bottom. You have the worst luck with two left feet or weird hands on your figures!!!
I do have bad luck! But an open bottom of the cape isn’t the worst thing.

Very weird how two of them made their way to Plo Koon and Kit Fisto.
I love the way grievous first appeared in the first animated clone wars, I remember watching how much the jedi were terrified of him, how the padawan lost it and couldn't cope with watching the clone troopers getting destroyed and thrown at the jedi taunting them, I wish we had more of that version in the movie and the later clone wars series.
Yeah the 2003 clone wars cartoon was the most intimidating Grievous hands down.
Clone commandos would be a sick 6inch figure to have.

D1 is there because it’s a new series of Black Series figures, the D stands for Deluxe.

Probably the figure I wanted in 6" the most. So excited when he was announced and I got him. I honestly also thought he seemed small upon first handling

Three words, five syllables - Bandai. Model kit. Just got done assembling and painting the model kit Grievous and damn is it sweet; highly posable, insanely detailed, and fairly priced. I respect what Hasbro has attempted, and would definitely give the BS version to a kid to play with, as the model kit would be too fragile. Apologies if I came off as dumping on the BS version - it's a nice fig, but that Bandai is superior imo. Regardless, great review, man.
I complete agree, Bandai Model kits are great. But sometimes I just want to buy a toy and not build it. I also think the model kits tend to feel hollow and fragile. But I definitely like the model kits I’ve done.
I've collected every 2005-2013 General Grievous! In 6 inch I think George Lucas was in my same framework of great artificial alien concepts when he created, again surprising me back in 2005, my advanced intelligence to designs!!

@@MikeKaess ... No not me! 😂 When he had "Queen Amadala" in 1999 (red Queen and action figure then to) I was interested in those side features in her headwear! It impressed me in 2005 when he used them in the design concepts of General Grievous as my attempts to come up with anything were lame! 😂

Just got mine from BBTS today. He's got a hidden forearm swivel on all four arms... that's a weird sentence. Anyway, it's just below the elbows and helps quite a bit with the wrist problem. The ankles are very annoying though. Other than that, I'm quite pleased with him.
You know, I was super gently when exploring this figure because if I break it, it’s not like I can go out and just find another. I was SURE I explored it all, but I may have to post an update! Thanks as always! Your comments always help out!

General Grievous is a troublesome character design when it comes to toys, because most Grievous figures seem to have trouble supporting their own weight and the only ones that don't are the ones that are missing key points of articulation in the legs. I remember spending $10 on the super-articulated 3.75" Grievous, back in 2008, and he was made with such bendy plastic that it was like trying to get cooked spaghetti to stand up straight. I felt kind of ripped off paying $10 for that figure, so I imaged that I would feel even more ripped off paying $30 for a larger figure that has the same problem.
It’s true, he has a troublesome design. But I definitely think this figure is waaaaaay better than previous figures like this.

Could you try to tuck the edge of the cape into the neck armor to see if its possible and make a mini update video on it? That would be more screen accurate but I haven't seen any reviewer do it yet

There are some new stands coming with exclusive figures, but that’s the only plans I’ve seen so far. And those are only with the up coming exclusive figures like the Jumptrooper and Stormtrooper Luke.

Yeah I feel like Dorkside is a bit slow on this one. I ordered it day 1, and I only just got it Friday. But I will say when it shipped out, it shipped fast!
Got mine a few days ago. As you said, the articulation, and assessorease ar great. The only complaint I have is, wish he was made a little bit heavier. He seems to be too lite and very brittle, like he might break easily.
Yeah he is a little on the light side. It’s because of the molded details create a lot of hollow areas.

Are you able to get him to stand up long term in theory? I mostly just put them on my shelf so if he's gonna nosedive every night idk if I should get him, but the positivity is tempting me
Honestly, he hasn’t fallen since I got him in a good stable stance.
Mine always falls over. When I manage to stand him and come back back from work, he's on the floor along with two or three other figures he knocked over.

I think that cloak could have done with being less bulky at the top as all that thickness and material kind of spoils the effect of the rest of the cloak for me.

I really want a black series Count Dooku, but looking at Hasbro's track record. They haven't put out a lot of Dooku figures for the 3.75 inch line. We didn't even get an updated vintage collection Dooku figure. We got one for Maul, Vader,Grievous, and Sidious but not for Dooku :(
We really do need a Dooku. He’ll continue to be on my list every time I make a list for sure until we get one.
We honestly have no idea who’s lightsabers come with Grievous because they reuse lightsabers on Jedi all the time in TCW and the movies.
Jedi who shares lightsabers:

- Seasee Tin
- Kit Fisto
- Agen Kolar
- Shaak Ti
- Plo Koon
- Luminara Unduli
- etc.
Basically every single Jedi except main character use and reuse the four lightsaber hilts that grievous comes with, really odd - I know. I guess it makes sense. Why put in the effort to make individual lightsaber when they’re gonna be cameos in the movies for 5 seconds, right?
Kinda backfired on them when these Jedi became recurring character in TCW show and such. Well, thanks to anyone who read my mini novel.

Yeah I really wanted to make sure I pointed that out because I know some people are turned off by things like that. But he looks so good in the shelf, it doesn’t bother me too much.
Also sucks that he doesn’t have wrist rotation because his most iconic move literally has him rotating his wrists really fast making a giant saber fan.

The cape is left open at the bottom to allow you to easily add wire, if you so please.
