This was an interesting discussion. Your mom made some good points about how people tend to focus on the wedding and not the marriage which is the most important thing and learning how to be with your significant other when things are good and not so good. You should def do a video on contraception. It's what we need to discuss more of in the African community but religion also influences people's beliefs on that so...I just believe that married couples should plan to have the number of children they can truly take care of.

It’s interesting how the statement of ‘blocking’ a baby made me remember something my Pastor once said.
In God’s prophetic calendar and timing, certain things have to be done at a certain time, no matter what. John had to be born around the time Jesus was to be born because he had a role to play in fore running Jesus’ ministry (and maybe that’s why Elizabeth had a delay).
That was God’s plan. If John was born earlier or later, it might not have played out the way God wanted it.
So, I think whether or not we choose to start having kids early on in the marriage, or if there’s a delay beyond a couple, committing it all to God’s hands in prayers like your Mum said will always be the best and wise thing to do.
I think it’s okay to have our own plans, take precautions, have family planning, etc. but ultimately, we must submit all things about our lives to God and let His will be done.
It doesn’t mean God is against science, it doesn’t mean God won’t let us have our way sometimes. But our disposition should be that His will reigns supreme.

Well people get married to also avoid sin. Just like Paul instructed “It’s better to marry than burn”. If people date for long, self control might become harder.
I think it’s okay for people to marry early and delay with child bearing for genuine reasons.
But 5 years is too much sha
It’s too much if you plan on having more than 3 maybe . Because people tend to forget that marriage is for growth ; so taking you time to solidify your relationship with your wife / husband before the kids step is vital. ( my opinion) .
