Learning to say “no” and being more discerning in what you allow to take up your time is such a great life lesson. By removing things from life that I felt like I SHOULD be doing and replacing with things I WANT to do, I spend so much more time on the things most important to me!
I love these guys. They are so down to earth, no BS creators. Most of the videos today are showing this fake, polished reality, unattainable view that creates anxiety and depression in so many people. Not these guys! I have been subscriber since early years of channel, and I love to see they succeeded while still being real. Thank you guys!
I'm glad you talked about this. One of the main issues I hear from these motivational speakers is," You got to hustle and grind every single day. No days off. If you're not getting up early, you're missing out. Average is never enough." Ok, but when do you enjoy life. When do you rest? In my opinion, run your own race. Success won't happen in a week. Don't lose your peace of mind over it.
This video came out at the perfect time for me. I had to juggle family and other obligations for the last 2 weeks and haven’t been able to maintain my routine very well since then. Hearing this stuff helps me not to panic and smiley get back into it one step at a time. Thanks BuffDudes
It sounds odd but I got into a “grind set” with reading. I’d read like 100 pages a day when I was at uni and not really enjoy lots of it (like I did when I was younger), and now that I’ve finished uni I can barely motivate myself to read more than 10 pages, even when it’s a book I enjoy. Overdoing anything you enjoy or are good at can lead to you resenting it a bit as it becomes a chore. Gotta keep the fun alive as you say.
Don't know how many years it has been that i have been watching this channel and honestly it is one of the best out there. Hudson and Brandon are some of the realest dudes in UA-cam and i thank them for all the great tips in fitness and now in every day life. Thank you guys and YATS FUBB!
Love this message. I’ve burnt myself out more times than I can count. Not only did that suck, it also made me LESS productive than being balanced and consistent
I have been following Buff dudes for quite some years now and I must say that I truly appreciate the hard work that goes into creating videos which spread fitness education in such a unique way and entertaining way. Keep it coming . ❤ from India.
Some time before lockdowns I was laid off from work for a bit and I started watching Buff Dudes videos and they got me back to gym again. Been at it for 4 years now again. I watched your videos every gym day to get positively motivated by your workouts and found why I loved going to the gym before. So absolutely needed those videos to get me motivated and pumped for the first month or so until it started to become a habit and something I love doing.
Motivation is only a small part of it all, the self discipline and consistency is the key. Motivation springs from the just do it discipline. There are times where you just need to go through the motions. And times where you are super into it.
I think it is so cool that you are writing a novel, and I look forward to reading it. I love writing myself and it feels awesome knowing one of my favorite UA-camrs loves writing too. I have been there with getting nothing done on your book for a "decent" amount of time. I don't know how that famous writer could write 2000 words a day, that is beyond me. I just stick with one hour a day. Anyway, sorry for blabbering just wanted to say you guys are awesome looking forward to future videos.
Appreciate this! Its so hard to maintain motivation working an ever-changing "non-traditional" schedule (IE working nights shift anywhere from 8 - 12 hours depending on the need). Nice to be reminded we are humans, not robots, and perfect is the enemy of good. PS - Cant wait for the full novel!
I think what a lot people need to realise is that so long as your diet is okay, you don’t need to live some hardcore lifestyle to be healthy and in shape. I’ve got a pretty decent physique and can run a sub 20 minute 5K. But I don’t dedicate my life to fitness. I’ve just been doing it a long time. Someone in the office once found me on Instagram and saw the few shirtless pics and some race pics that I have on there. She said, “I didn’t know you were some fitness freak/gym rat!” When I told her that I really wasn’t and that I only went to the gym about 10 times a months and at most ran twice a week, she was flabbergasted.
For me one of the most crucial pieces was just putting my phone in another room and getting to work and only checking it of i heard a call coming in. Youd be surprised how much time "killing a couple minutes" on your ohone eats up a day
That clip of him fighting sleep looked exaggerated, but that was so spot on and I can tell he’s dealt with lack of sleep. Sometimes you’re fighting it so hard you have to grunt and yell just to try and get adrenaline going to keep you up
I can only talk for my self but i am the kind of individual that doesnt care about motivation i just do it. Because else nine out of ten times you are going to avoid training because you dont really want to until you actually do it and loves every minute of it.
Dosen't it feel great to know that your workout is done first thing in the morning? Before the change, used to pray that nothing would come up later in the day so that I can go workout. Not anymore!
The last episode where the buff dudes were eating 3000 year old warrior diets, was commendable! Wow, props to Brandon and Hudson for giving it a try! Yeeaahh! 💪💪
I deeply despise the hustle and grind culturea and the mentality of evertything, that is not productive, is a loss of time However you have to seperate it for yourself from charasteristics like discipline and consistency in your own life. It is so beneficial if you implement them in your life, with the right context of your character and rhythm.
Cool video one of the best in this topic What i hate most in Daily Routines video is assume everybody work as freelancer, youtuber or can do home office. Then you have normal guys who dont have that. Then you hear stuff Like: "wake up early, do 1h meditation, go for walk, go to the gym, and then do 1h of deep work then start you job" and you are guy who need to start at 6 not to do all of this thinks, you just need to get to job
I recently started Deep Work by Calvin Newport. So many of these concepts are in both places. Rest and real breaks make you more efficient in your deep work and achieving your Wildly Important goals. 👍
6:16 Multitasking is the absolute worst as far as productivity goes. We can thank corporatism for the multitask mentality being shoved into our brains.
I just turned 40 and I'm having a difficult time finding motivation for gym time, working on projects, and even fun hobbies. I keep thinking "i'm 40 and there isn't much time left so forget about it" its a weird mental block and i'm aware of it but its hard to get over
I'm 40 as well and I hear ya. But I just talked to an 80 year old who's still active in writing and in his hobbies. Very sharp mind and humor. We got another 40 years to that point. Just do what you want to do, it's all about perspective.
I just want to know how to keep my cardio up or even improve my cardio in those first 12 weeks until a newborn is able to sleep through the night when they need constant attention
Love these channels for the humour but I just feel that the gigantic ELEPHANT in the cyber room when it comes to workout plans, nutritional info, meal prepping etc (aside from the endless contradictions) Is speaking to the audience who have MANUAL LABOUR jobs Even in the SKIT in this video for example. Your idea of a person *at work* is someone sitting down at a computer Well no. Not EVERYONE sits down all day. Some of us have labour iNtesive jobs. Long hours and unsociable shift patterns It would be REFRESHING if a channel could even ATTEMPT to relate to these people But I am here to tell you right now. That it has NEVER been done. I promise you. I have seen HUNDREDS of channels and as bold as my claim may seem. It has literally NEVER been discussed. 100% of workout social channels will talk to ONE type of person - THE OFFICE WORKER but like I said. This is by far the most entertaining and funny
Maybe just slowly work your way up. So for example, if it’s been awhile since you’ve been to the gym set a small goal like “I’ll just do ten pushups today.” And slowly increase it. Then eventually you can be like “I’m going to do my normal amount of pushups, but at least do them at the gym.”
A psychologist, fitness coach, and passionate bodybuilder explained that having a clear personal identity might be more important than having clear goals regarding motivation and endurance. For example, doing I see myself as an active, fit, and healthy person might be the more important question than asking how often I will visit the gym. I agree with that, from my personal experience. One may ask, will I be a Buff Dude or not?! 😉
It's easy to say don't compare when you got what you wanted, but what if all I've ever wanted was a wife and kids and most of all I've done since I was 19 was shooting towards that goal, and 12 years later I still didn't get what I was shooting for and several other of my peers have gotten it by simply taking a better path or having better odds?
"Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today" Twelve Rules For Life by Dr. Jordan B Peterson. 12 Rules for Life saved my life, I highly recommend everyone to read/listen to it. Dr. Peterson narrates his own book on audible, that is how I "read" it, and it is amazing.
That's a great point, Davia. For myself, I definitely find it easier. Years ago I used to struggle with finding the motivation to workout when doing it from home, but now I prefer the ability to walk around with my shoes and shirt on while blasting my own non-Top 40 music.. 😄

Dishes?! Never again!
@@natemoothart6967 😂😂😂 I mainly meant social obligations, but now that you mention it……
Was thinking this exact thing while watching this video.
“Don’t compare your behind the scenes to someone else’s highlight reel” - This one jumped out at me.
Consistency is key - A perfect daily routine is worthless if done once or twice, followed by a week of burnout-fueled procrastination!
Consistency over time is a super power.
I agree. I also subscribed to the channel in my 20s, now I'm 40

I love this. I watched it after a 7-7 day of B2B client and internal meetings, which meant I got home exhausted, missed my workout, and hated myself.
I have been following Buff dudes for quite some years now and I must say that I truly appreciate the hard work that goes into creating videos which spread fitness education in such a unique way and entertaining way. Keep it coming . ❤ from India.
Once again, great PRACTICAL advice from the Buff Dudes. As always, thank you H and B!

Good for you Hudson. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there with writing a novel but it's also respectable that you've stayed committed.
Be yourself, everybody else is taken.
