Check my website for more: marcuslundgren.com/ Me trying to play another "Balkan" tune. This one is in 7/8! Sorry for all mistakes, but I really enjoyed the time making this video :)
Leaving Kafana at 5am followed by a band of Gypsies, exhausted to hallucination after playing all night without a break - no one is complaining, still faithfully working for you. You are slowly walking home, disturbing the snow that fell over night, followed by the men who are always there for you, and will follow you with their music until the end of your days.
I've been a guitarist for over fifty years and so many times I've "felt" this rhythm and love improvising over it but I could never get any rock band I was in to play it! To me it always sounds "right", maybe it's my ancestry or something?!🤔👍
I practice that scale when I was young and I remember that I didn't have metronome, only my right foot. I found that was crucial for my rhythm playing in the future. I developed a perfect chord to solo line transition.
Breaking bad neutral ending: Walter decided it was enough and decided to become a musician and live the rest of his life happily and playing the guitar to his newborn daughter
Subscribed even before 1 minute into this....this is simply out of this world...And I hope that you get 1000 times more subscribers than you have right now. Your playing style and technique is amazing. Respect and adulation from India. God bless you Marcus. And please release an album. I'd love to buy it.
Mistakes are often what makes a piece like this even better and unique every time it is played! Also the majority of us with western ears will not even notice or know what a mistake sounds like in this song as it is different from what our ears are used to.
@@marcusjazz1 I'm macedonian and when I heard you playing I was shocked. You're very good, the only thing you need now is to learn to sing a macedonian song 😅
Mostly the one with a weak self-confidence are needing to point on nationalism. The history of what is now northern Greece is characterized by migration of peoples. Any attempt at appropriation, regardless of who makes it, is nonsense. So let it be our music. Mine and yours. Let it touch our hearts. Let's sing and dance. Let everyone be our friend.
Guys, especially you Bulgarians, stop bothering everyone else. If you came here to spill "wisdom", you - missed the channel. Probably somewhere on the net there is a ghetto for such, with inferiority complex, where you can cure it with self-deceiving fantasies about your own "glory and greatness". The same applies and for Turks and Kurds as well. If we ignore one small historical omission (which soon can be corrected) - Turkey is NOT the Balkans. Neither the Balkans nor Europe. They're Asian - no more and no less. There are others who can be recognized in this. I apologize to Mr. Marcus Lundgren and the other normal people, but such outbursts of nonsense have to be banished.
this is Bulgarian traditional melody! Only in Bulgaria exist that specific rhythm. Not Turkish not Kurdish song... this is Bulgarian traditional music!!!
Sound of the motherland. Balkan breathes in this rhythm
I love this kind of music 😀

Macedonia 🔥🇲🇰🎸 7/8
Yes 😊👌🏼
What other countries than Bulgaria play 7/8 that you call it Balkan?
Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and also some part of India and some Kurdish-arab nations....
In Tajikistan we have several versions of 7/8... just search on UA-cam tajik national songs...most of them are 7/8 songs...
ua-cam.com/video/f8lqoyN9nZM/v-deo.html
We wrote this one in 2004... with only a korg pa80 keyboard...
Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia
MACEDONIA
Nice but where's your hair??? JK
I think it's on the flor.... 😄
It is a bit insulting to call it Balkan ;) Though the Balkan Mountain is mainly positioned in Bulgaria, so it is Ok.. ;)
:)
that's not a turkish melody that's kurdish song

Good playing. Bu5 if you wanna teach, count for us beginners, and explain the count. You are just showing of, and a lot of Macedonians do this better.
