Some great songs! I love Manowar, but I never heard "Warriors of the World", so I had to listen to it. I've never been a huge Motorhead fan. I would have chosen some other songs for a few bands' best
I live in the DFW Metroplex, and Pantera lives one street over from me in an old farm house complete with porch swing. They used to have inflatable monster hands coming over the top of the roof, but they got shredded in a hail storm several years ago. When Dimebag died, the yard was such an OCEAN of flower bouquets from fans that you couldn't get anywhere near the front door. You'd never be able to tell a band that big lives there, either. It looks like a normal house, and the only marker that makes it even slightly different is the fact there's a small sign outside of the gate to their driveway that politely asks fans to respect their privacy, which all the locals do. My ex-BIL actually went to high school with them and has one of their demo discs from before they were signed, and it's autographed by all of them. Then about 20 years later, Pentatonix came from the same damn high school while my niece was a student there.
My list: ● Crazy Train- Ozzy Osbourne ● We're Not Gonna Take It- Twisted Sister ● Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions ● No More Tears - Ozzy Osbourne ● Raining Blood - Slayer ● The Final Countdown - Europe (1986) ● Dracula by Rob Zombie ● House of 1,000 Corpses by Rob Zombie ● Pussy Liquor by Rob Zombie ● Master of Puppets - Metallica
All of these songs are awesome but the song that got me hooked and still one of my favorite metal anthems is Paradise City by GNR, why is that song not on this list? If the final countdown can be on it Paradise city should have definitely been on this list
I don’t think Final Countdown should really be on this list, but maybe Europe is kinda classified as “hair metal/glam” and the song is certainly an anthem. I think Paradise City is a true banger, but GNR isn’t metal. They’re hard rock, and should Watch Mojo make a list of Hard Rock anthems, I’d say GNR would definitely qualify 😊
I wouldn't still be here if it weren't for Metal. This music has saved me from so many dark times and it's the closest thing to God that I've found. Long live metal! 🤘❤ the music of the people!
Debatable... the Zoo is very iconic for the Scorpions, but it's not a metal anthem. Rock you like a hurricane is a good choice; Dynamite would've been great too
Sooo... 70s and 80s metal bands are the only bands with anthems? Is that what you think Watchmojo? I was honestly surprised you guys even thought of Pantera, but then again, they're technically an 80s band too. Korn's Blind deserves to be in the Top 10. Slipknot's Spit it Out should also be hear. So many more bands deserved to be here. The bands you guys chose, for the most part, really don't have as much a following or praise than some modern Metal bands or even ones from the early 90s. Stop sucking up to the 80s.
The list is missing any bands that performed after the early 90's. Don't get me wrong some of these were great hits from my youth. However, where would you put FFDP "Ashes"? Or Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People"? Not to mention several songs by Godsmack, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, or Rise Against. And that leaves out Green Day (maybe just hard rock, but as heavy as Ratt), Korn, Linkin Park, Rage Against The Machine, Tool, and one of the best 90's metal songs of all time ... NIN "Closer". You should have added 70-90's top 20 to forgive some of these modern misses.
OMG, luv it ! Gotta luv all the old metalheads still bangin, even if we dont have the long hair anymore ......lol " METAL rules the land ! " Defend the Faith brothers
Their best song? Bruh one of the best metal songs in general, but the best of theirs? Don't think so. Electric Eye has got more character, intelligent lyrics, better melody (ok not that intense solos like on Painkiller but still essential)
Warriors Of The World United Manowar and Rock You Like a Hurricane Scorpions and Cowboys From Hell Pantera and Raining Blood Slayer and Round and Round Ratt and Live Wire Motley Crue and The Final Countdown Europe and I Wanna Be Somebody W.A.S.P. and We're Not Gonna Take It Twisted Sister and Peace Sells Megadeth and All We Are Warlock and Metal Health (Bang Your Head) Quit Riot and We Rock Dio and Youth Gone Wild Skid Row and Enter Sandman Metallica and Ace Of Spades Motorhead and Crazy Train Ozzy Osbourne and Painkiller Judas Priest and The Number of the Beast Iron Maiden and War Pigs Black Sabbath make me want to raise my fist and yell on the CDs or on the phone
Very badly edited! the narrator keeps interrupting the anthems almost in the middle of the musical phrases! kills the enjoyment. the video is almost 70 % narration 30 % music !!!! it shoud be the opposite
The video doesn't do it justice. But I got to hear Slayer on their Last Tour location on their Farewell Tour. But hearing slayer for the first time was an AWESOME experience and hearing that opening Riff to Raining Blood was just freaking AMAZING!
Nightwish is great, but not (yet) as iconic as the bands in this list. Perhaps in about 15 years (together with Sabaton, just to name one). Also, Nightwish doesn't have a single song that stands out as 'their iconic song'. Sure, a lot of fans would say it's Ghost Love Score, but others would claim it would be Wishmaster, Nemo, I wish I had an angel etc...
Do any of these songs make you want to raise your fist and yell? Let us know in the comments!

Incredible how many generic songs from generic ¨metal¨ bands are considered ¨anthems¨ (and I lived in that era)
BOW DOWN TO THESE MIGHTY KINGS OF METAL 🎸🥁🤘🤘🤘
Hell yea, love heavy metal🤘🏻🤘🏻
My list:
● Crazy Train- Ozzy Osbourne
● We're Not Gonna Take It- Twisted Sister
● Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions
● No More Tears - Ozzy Osbourne
● Raining Blood - Slayer
● The Final Countdown - Europe (1986)
● Dracula by Rob Zombie
● House of 1,000 Corpses by Rob Zombie
● Pussy Liquor by Rob Zombie
● Master of Puppets - Metallica
Monkey Business is my favorite Skid Row song.
Raining Blood was 86 which is stated by the text but then the narrator says 96. Lol 😂😂 . Also the song should have imo ranked much higher xxxx
🤘🤟 They can't stop us let 'em try for heavy metal we will die 🤟🤘
I saw heavy metal in the title and I knew i had to click on it.
Amen to that, my friend!!
For The Scorpions, a better pick would be 'The Zoo.'
Debatable... the Zoo is very iconic for the Scorpions, but it's not a metal anthem. Rock you like a hurricane is a good choice; Dynamite would've been great too
I love The Zoo, but for me Blackout would be more of an anthem
I would like to say all of these heavy metal songs made me want to raise my fist and yell
Long live ROCK 🎵🎸
Please make a Video with modern Metal! There are such amazing Artist all over the world! 🤘
Stop sucking up to the 80s.
great video
I don't know why We're not gonna take it is so low. Everybody knows that song, is a freaking anthem. Peace sells too, both of them are top ten.
Painkiller is my favourite Priest song. You just have to turn it up as loud as possible. Think it's definitely their best song.
That entire album is fire followed by defenders of the faith
Their best song? Bruh one of the best metal songs in general, but the best of theirs? Don't think so. Electric Eye has got more character, intelligent lyrics, better melody (ok not that intense solos like on Painkiller but still essential)
The Cowboys From Hell is permanently burnt into my head
Very badly edited! the narrator keeps interrupting the anthems almost in the middle of the musical phrases! kills the enjoyment. the video is almost 70 % narration 30 % music !!!! it shoud be the opposite
heavy metal forever 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
🤘🔥🤟💯🔥
@ 8:15 I see Jób Bluth setting up one of his MAGIC ACTS!
"Tricks are what women of the night do for money Michael" is what he said
LMADO!
THIS IS MY MUSIC. YEAH !!! 👍🏻
So... Many... Jackson guitars :D
The video doesn't do it justice. But I got to hear Slayer on their Last Tour location on their Farewell Tour. But hearing slayer for the first time was an AWESOME experience and hearing that opening Riff to Raining Blood was just freaking AMAZING!
Make metal great again!
🤘
rock on.
Part of me was waiting to see Disturbed's song "Down With the Sickness" on here just solely for the opening alone of David Draiman's shout
Up the irons
There's a great cover of Ace Of Spades done by a Swedish all female metal band called Drain STH that is very awesome.
Tony Iommi married one of them.
Heavy Metal will always Rules.
Can't believe that nightwish wasn't on the list 😢
same :_:
Nightwish is great, but not (yet) as iconic as the bands in this list. Perhaps in about 15 years (together with Sabaton, just to name one). Also, Nightwish doesn't have a single song that stands out as 'their iconic song'. Sure, a lot of fans would say it's Ghost Love Score, but others would claim it would be Wishmaster, Nemo, I wish I had an angel etc...
They kinda should be, since Mojo already included non-metal songs.
I wanna rock.
All We Are
Good start, video for I Wanna Rock with caption for we’re not gonna take it 🤦♀️🤘😬
I would add another classic Ronni James Dio and Sabbath to the list. The Mob Rules.
Or Country girl.
