Why free float barrel is better for VSR10 rifles

  • VSR10 rifles uses the stock to support the barrel and receiver however the injection molded stock is more often than not deformed to some degree. Depends on how much deformation is present, it can lead to misfeeding, nozzle grinding on HU chamber etc.
    By using a one piece receiver of some sort, either glue the barrel to the receiver or make/purchase one, free floating the barrel can offer many advantages. Such as consistent feeding, smooth bolt pull etc.

    Just in case you were wondering, your stock is from a Classic Army SR-40. I also put my SSG10 receiver and barrel into this stock because I like how it looks.

    Hey Wyz, have you ever experimented with putting a small HPA tank in the stock of a VSR itself? I’m looking to do a HPA build, and this idea, of having no external hose, is very appealing if it can be done! Thanks

    Very nice. I'm looking at my SSG10 A3 stock and see no way to remove the mag release from the stock and mount it independently to the block. I'm thinking to just not fit the forward bolt to leave the front of the stock free.
