You can't find a production of the play, but Joseph Losey's film treatment from 1974 is available. Flawed and not nearly as theatrical as Brecht's play, but it conveys some of the flavor of it (Losey previously directed the first stage version of the play produced in NYC).
Alright, but why the dumbed-down dialogue?
terrible, it wasn't an actor playing galileo, but almost as if galileo was playing an actor. the lead seems way over the top and is overacting too much. when i read the play I didn't picture any of them in this fashion
unfortunately, that is intentional. brecht's dramaturgy doesn't allow for actor to identify with the role. instead the character should almost be quoted by the actor, instead of embodied.
it is the epic understanding of actor.
I agree though, it is very jarring, but intentionally done so.
