Listening to Madrigal Project right now. Groovy Scot, just groovy. Vancouver has been in the throes of Swiftomania these past few days. Tonight is the last night of her Eras tour. 🥱💤
Great band. This album incredible and Adam Holzman always blows me away with his distinctive playing. First class. Thoroughly enjoyed the stream Scot , great panel , great chat as every week. Counting the days to Harold the Barrel. Still reeling however with Nicko McBrain leaving Maiden , I can feel a bout of Seventh Son coming on. Cheers for now. 😍🎵🎵🤘
I have To go with the reform of KingCrimson . Saw them on tour in Philadelphia and they were absolutely amazing. No other band pushed the envelope of Prog like Fripp. Reminds me of Miles Davis. Also growing , even when they do the older music it sounds better than original.
Great show, Scot, and superb guests. For me, the number one comeback is Dawn by Eloy. Frank broke up the band after Power and the Passion and reformed with a totally different lineup except for himself, bringing out the magical Dawn.
Biggest comebacks (plural) has to go to King Crimson, which kept reinventing itself time and again. That was Fripp's vision. Even now as the band is done another come back as the Beat goes on. Fripp understands the long approach and it shows. He gave up certain aspects of music (often the band) several times because he just didn't feel that tier of big production project was warranted. Critique him all you want... and I do but nobody can claim his level of leaving things to pick them up as a reinvented project in progressive music. Just the level of intention is staggering, he built a comeback machine.
I saw Crimson twice with the reboot in the last tour and they played with such power and made the tunes from the 70 s sound like they were just written. Amazing band.
If they weren't a big thing....how did they 'comeback'? Understand the delay being interesting and hlad to here they are still active. First song interesting, but way too disjoint....turns into noise
Maiden are certainly prog tinged hard rock/metal. But I have to disagree with that album. Sure, it's better than the few previous ones, but they never reached anything near their earlier work. Not even close. And even though some bands had success post prog years , such as YES, it just wasn't the same. Their vital period had passed.
Surprised nobody mentioned "Perfect Strangers". Deep Purple are definitely prog adjacent.
Yep. I agree.
How do I not know the Madrigal project!? From my hometown Spokane!
Check them out. Great band!!!!!
@ great episode! Thanks Scott! I will buy the vinyl if it’s not too crazy expensive! Do they do any tour dates??
@ I don’t think so.
@ thank you Scott! Appreciate the response!
Hey, I’m from Spokane too! Of course I’m also the sax player in Madrigal and TMP. Cheers!
Salutations wild man
Howdy!!!!🤠
Hey Scot. Great show today! Cheers
Hey, thanks!
Nice chat with great music!
Really enjoyed the music despite the technical gremlins too.
Glad you enjoyed it
Sounds like Gentle Giant so much
If Season's End is regarded as a comeback album - new lead singer - then so should the mighty A Trick Of The Tail. 😎
Should have waited until hearing Scott's and Kevin D's picks before posting! 😁
Digging The Project! Great show!
👍👍👍

Eloy!!!! What a good call.

for non progressive its gotta be Fleetwood Mac

@@Prog-t9d agreed and the band really is at their best live... most of the recordings are a tad stilted by comparison... but man live Crimson is King
Crest Of A Knave by Tull; everyone thought they had disbanded ....it won a Grammy!
It did!!!!
This opeth album is very good I really enjoyed it
Yeah!!!
@@TheProgCorner this is a band I did not approach till very recently and i find them to be surprisingly strong for me

They're not dead yet? Styx reference? Brave new world...was Styx.
👍

Gabriel's latest is a bore fest
I found it very okay.
Right, it's only the best album of his career, and the best album of 2023.
