      “He made it look so easy”?; no he didn’t, his 147 was far from fluent, in fact it was hard-earned; whereas 147s by O’Sullivan look easy.

      @@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO I slightly disagree. It was a "cautious" 147. Precise and thoughtful. Fantastic to watch

    When you see the celebration after the maximum, you can understand how much emotions are involved and how cold blooded these players are. You could never tell he was nervous, he kept the cool so well, but the relief after the last shot revealed how nervy the situation was.

      I'm a pretty handy pool player, but when I enter competitions without a drink or two in me I can fall to pieces. I'm always jealous of those I play drinking coke and playing as if they are in a practise game with friends, apparently nerveless.

      I think that Lisowski played an even better game because he didn’t get put off by Robertsons 147. He kept his head down and played it frame by frame to take the full match 13-12

      @@TheRealColt really good point , of course this break is absolutely amazing , but eventhougth lisowski didnt do a 147 himself what he did on that match is amazing ... we all know that roberston was the main favorite not just of this match but also of the event, and beeing able to stay focuse and maintain is level agains roberston is pure gold ...

      A few years ago a Snooker commentator made a utterly misinformed statement in which he described Neil Robertson as being “One of Snookers greatest players”; I totally disagree, while Neil Robertson is very good, he doesn’t come anywhere close to being one of Snooker’s greatest. But with Neil Robertson being an Idiot he wrongly believes he is one of Snooker’s greatest. He arrogantly stated recently that he has nothing to prove, I disagree, it is the likes of true Legends like O’Sullivan who have nothing to prove, while Robertson has so much yet to prove. Lastly the World final Robertson won was so damn boring.

      Interesting; Hendry and O'Sullivan share the honours with three maximums at the Crucible. I wonder on those three occasions whether they won that particular round and whether that year they won the championship...... Sad that Robertson lost out to Lisowski, but then among the top sixteen on a given day anyone on his day could beat anyone else on his offday and when both are high, well the best man of the day wins. Its reallu tough competition these days as the disparity between the numerouno and the sixteen is very slight than when the Davis" and Hendry had field days! That way we have to appreciate the steadfastness of Ronnie O'Sullivan who has been the longest leading the crowd and despite being at odds against himself. Anyways the world championships are always exciting for the spectators and excruciating for the players like the Frech Open in Tennis.

      @AcessDBpro 2 роки тому +1

      @@growlerthe2nd712 You are correct. Terry Griffiths missed all reds an an attempted safety, leaving Thorburn with a relatively easy red to one of the Black pockets. So Thorburn shot, and MISSED the pocket, but after rattling the jaws emerged hugging the Black cushion all the way into the OTHER black pocket, en route to his 147. There were plenty of flukes made in the course of professional 147's, but this was the dandiest.

    Can remember the Ronnie's 147 fresh still in my mind in 1997 and doing a 147 making the prize for the highest break of £147.000
    And to get a 147 at the world championship is like winning the main event and the trophy,
    Got that gut feeling that certain parties with now try this to share the highest price money.

      The good old days when you got a supreme prize of £147,000 for making the 147. 25 years later and it has dropped to a measly £40,000. Talk about deflation! lol. Remember when The Rocket paused part way through his break some years ago and asked the ref what was on offer for the "maxie"? It was something like 50,000 and Ronnie said nah, not good enough and deliberately broke a 146 LMAO. That's entertainment for you!

      @@bradley3549 That's right, it was just 10k wasn't it... what a joke! The chief claimed because players like O'Sullivan complete a maxie quite often these days. It's not THAT often. They should still be incentivised accordingly. Ronnie sells a lot of tickets and is the Tiger Woods of snooker, taking it to another level. 10k for a maximum for such a genius talent is an insult. I can understand his protest. Just because he makes it look easy doesn't mean it is!

      @josephd.2725 2 роки тому

      @@bradley3549 I also recall another when he almost refused to pot the final black, but the ref talked him into completing the break. LOL, what an entertainer.

    Pity that that'd be the last we'll see of Neil at this championship.
    After Ronnie, he's the player I most enjoy watching play.
    Perhaps a historic 147 at the venue that gives him the shudders would be of some consolation to this marvellous professional.
    Very well done, indeed, Neil. 👏👏👏
