The positional play was outstanding. One of the best maximums I’ve ever seen in terms of that aspect. No ridiculous pots needed to save the break, just complete control with almost every shot.
@tbloomfield2 My family = Newcastle United Football Club no trophy's since 1955 I'm one of those people that don't count that fake fairs cup in 69. My family hmm things started going south in 1995 'Derek Lee' ❤ One day I will come face to face with them 2 cowards.
I remember seeing Gary playing O’Sullivan years ago and him giving him a very tough game. I could see he was the real deal back then so it’s no surprise he starting winning tournaments
@@alanchamberlain9902 Nah he plays nothing like ebdon. He actually has flair, a nice stride around the table and a flow to his game. He isn't slow by any means. He's actually good to watch when he's playing well, makes it look easy and he's very confident these days. Ebdon was just a slow bore for me 😂
No player has ever made two 147s on the same day in competitive play, and there have been only three instances where two players made a 147 on the same day (but never two who were playing against each other): 24 August 2018, Paul Hunter Classic: Michael Georgiou (#140), Jamie Jones (#141) 8 December 2016, German Masters: Ali Carter (#126), Ross Muir (#127) 15 December 2011, FFB Snooker Open: Matthew Stevens (#82) and Ding Junhui (#83). Ding made yet another Maximum break on the 17th, followed by Jamie Cope on the 18th -- making four Maximum breaks in four days, by three different players.
I always maintain that Gary Wilson has underachieved in his career because he’s positional play is immaculate and his choice selection is pretty good, he should win a lot more than he does
This guy shows you that it isn't just technique or style that makes you a great player (his head over cue and stance are shocking!!) but determination and having that born with talent...
What a clean maximum! No shenanigans needed. Nearly bottled it, this time at red no. 15 (in first frame he lost it at no. 14), but was lucky. Well constructed and well deserved in the end.
That was elegant, the fact was with 8 reds left, Gary had no need to cannon anymore. That 13th black ❤ position was millimetre perfect. Giving the choice of either red. In pool you focus on an end pattern but to do it with such style on a snooker table makes this one of my favourite 147s. ❤❤❤
Excellent to see JH really chuffed for him too even tho he's just lost a 2nd frame in a row, always enjoyed seeing all players happy for opponents to get maxis,
Well, apart from that 1st red where he had a bit of luck with the cannon on the black, the rest was spottless. I didnt see many 147s if any with better positional play. I had a feeling he was always in control and wasnt going to miss ni matter what. Extremely clean 147, well done
I can't understand why it wasn't called a 151 break after all John made a foul. Outstanding break. Well done Gary. I saw Gary at Northern snooker center in Leeds a while ago. Great guy.
Pretty good, although it's still not coming close to what we've seen in November/December 2011 (seven Maximum breaks in four weeks, including four within four days, by three different players).
I love how the commentators at the start of the frame were talking like if he'd got the maxi in Frame 1 it would be an albatross around his neck 😆 All respect to Gary though, what an incredible couple of frames.
@@Admin-vo9nh if you’ve ever played snooker you’d know it’s difficult enough to make 30 with vision problems never mind a maximum. Gary has no issues with vision.

The rare 151 points

@Ricktheredbrick1 We all know, this didn't require a futher patronising explanation
What we all really want is a 155 break. Never seen one in competition

one of the best 147 breaks going fantastic positioning of the cueball throughout very well played gary wilson
I was there yesterday what a maximum, That was me shouting Get In at the end of the maximum break, I didn't realise i shouted that loud 😂😂
