After all of the controversy of this season for the Wolverines coach, with the sign-stealing allegations and the game suspensions, Colin makes the case that Harbaugh went into the Rose Bowl, and out coached King Nick Saban, resulting in a huge win for Michigan, and a trip to the College Football Championships. Bama fan here, congrats to Michigan and the Washington Huskies. the two of them vying for the National Championship honors is actually very exciting. Even though I'm a lifelong Bama fan it's kind of refreshing to see two totally different and new schools at the top of the heap this year. Good luck to both teams, It's gonna be a great game!
It's refreshing to see an Alabama fan showing humility and not complaining or making excuses. I understand there are a lot of you out there, but the stereotypical Bama fan doesn't come across like you. Kudos!
What class you have.
As a Michigan fan at the game last night, I must say I was very impressed with the number of Alabama fans that came up to me and "Congratulated" me on a great victory. Yes, every team has their knucklehead fans, but for the few I ran into last night after that hard fought victory- CLASS ACT
Overall, I've seen the Alabama fans being pretty gracious in defeat. They are way better O$U's petulant, toxic, childish fanbase.

Michigan fan here and I can't wait for the Title game. Clearly we are getting the 2 best teams playing for the title. The best QB vs the best defense. Washington looked like an NFL team. They were flying around to the ball and wrapping up, that OL was giving their RB holes and the QB a pocket to move around in. Pennix was damn near perfect.
That’s no knock on Texas. They played a great game but you had to play with absolute zero mistakes to beat Washington last night
UW made two huge mistakes and overcame them to win.

Texas doenst have a good defense man. Penix was throwing dots, but texas has a terrible secondary.
Well, maybe their secondary is not #2 like Michigan's, but their run defense is #3. Michigan's is #8. And just for a little perspective, all of Michigan's opponents combined have 364 pass attempts. Texas opponents have 482 attempts. And, wait for it, Washington's opponents have attempted 519 passes. Maybe it's because Michigan's pass defense is so feared that no one wants to try passing against them. Nah. It's more likely, as in a fact, that teams don't throw it as much in the Big 10 as they do in the Big 12 and Pac 12. So being #2 pass defense is a bit misleading. Guess we'll see if that ranking is deserved come Jan. 8th.@@webechubbin

I agree with everything you said, I just want to add that Penix reminds me of Joe Montana. He is sooo smooth and he drops those deep balls not only in a place that they can be easily caught and impossible for a defender to make a play on the ball without going through the receiver. With his receivers running wide open he literally drops the ball into a spot that allows the receivers to just stick their hands out. No one has done it as effortless since Montana. It is almost like people have forgotten about what really should have been Montana's legacy but since he made the West Coast offense look so easy with the short throws, it seems like just how "hyper" accurate he was on the deep passes to Rice, Clark or Taylor. I'm a lifelong Longhorn fan and I have been waiting for a defensive line to take advantage of Ewers' pass trajectory. He has a release and an effortless "zip" on the ball, but it is low. Washington clearly had a plan to knock down his passes because it is clear he doesn't get the ball as high as most QBs. I haven't studied it enough to recognize what is causing that, but I hope he works on that everyday because he has the ability to be a NFL franchise QB, but only if he is able to get the ball up at least a foot at the line of scrimmage.
Washington Offensive Line all deserve MVP. Penix was not sacked or pressured…
The combination of a great OL and Penix knowing exactly when and where to go with ball makes it almost impossible to sack Penix. Oregon, Arizona State, and Texas pressured him, but not enough to change game.
Oh, he was definitely pressured, but he handles it so well, it doesn't look like it. He shifts around in the pocket beautifully and doesn't let things faze him.

Said that about the Texas d-line and their two first round talents got 6 pressures total and zero sacks… didn’t get awarded the best OL in the country by luck.
same narrative we have heard and it never has happened except Utah - which is ranked higher than Michigan. KB figured it out against Oregon twice. We will see if Michigan can put any pressure.. Texas had ZERO sacks and barely a few pressures

Florida State should have been in the playoffs. They did earn it, they defeated everyone they played. So Colin, you make no sense when you say that Florida State shouldn't have been in the playoffs because they they didn't earn it, they clearly did.
Did they though? They had something to prove against Georgia and all the players opted out instead just bc life didn't go their way. Life isn't always going to go your way. Sometimes all you can do is show people wrong. All they proved was how much they didn't belong there.
They were deserving but so were the four teams that played last night , that’s the problem with people. They think solely going undefeated warrants entry to the playoff it’s not about winning. It’s how you win they struggled the whole season, safe for the second half against LSU, with or without Travis. This team was not good they had good starters, but the depth was horrible, and it clearly showed in the Orange bowl.
We have an OLD FASHION, BIG TEN v PAC TEN for the title. A fitting end to the season and GO BLUE.
Watching the highlights what's also crazy was how much bigger Alabama was. Michigan just didn't care and played with grit.
You may have to adjust your screen - Michigan's offensive line averages 6'3, 320 lbs, defensive line 6'4, 284 lbs (thanks to a few rangy defensive ends).

Loved what Colin said about Bama's offense. It was the most predictably basic offense I've ever seen a major college team run. Milroe is one of the worst Qb's I've ever seen. O’Brien was and is 100% right about this kid.

It’s embarrassing for Colin to go on and on about “knowing” fsu would have been “gashed,” etc. He simply doesn’t know this. That defense was tough. And don’t give me Iowa’s defense was tough, too, and look what Michigan did to them.
If FSU deserved to be demoted, then the committee should have done that demotion the Sunday/Monday or whatever day it was after Travis was injured. Instead, they were allowed 2? 3? how many weeks of hope at #4? It all just capsizes on them after beating up Louisville on the last Saturday? There’s the argument, Colin!

You left out "brilliant offensive line". Re-watch the Sugar Bowl and check out the Huskie's undersized center do his thing against the Godzilla of college football. The whole line is elite. The same can't be said for the Alabama line that Michigan just faced and trashed. Bama's right tackle looked like the best player in a high school game who suddenly found himself in the Rose Bowl. Overwhelmed. Texas blitzed Penix a bunch, but could never get home. He won't be the deer in the headlights that Milroe was. In fact, he welcomes the blitz, because he knows it puts his receiving group in an advantage. It should be a great game. Bombs away! GO DAWGS!

I agree with his comments except for the last bit about FSU. FSU's bowl game against Georgia was absolutely meaningless since about 30 of FSU's players were out including most of their starters. It doesn't change the fact that FSU had earned a spot in the playoffs and might have won at full strength. But now we'll never know. Putting Bama and Texas (both losers yesterday) in over a more deserving, undefeated FSU was a travesty. I say that as a Michigan fan.
Anybody who thinks Texas was more "deserving" than FSU is delusional. I am disappointed in that last bit as well, but then again, he has the right to air his "opinion", since it's his show, right? Still doesn't mean he is right.
SMH. I week ago y'all was touting Bama, basically saying the committee got in right jumping them over Florida State. Saying QB was the main reason, but I think their QB could have played at least as well as Bama's who didn't play well at all.

Michigan doesn’t have to get to Penix to win. They need to keep the ball in front of them and possess the ball on offense shortening the game. It’s known and has been known since the first high flying offense arrived in the sport that this is the way. The question is wether or not you think Michigan can do it.

The 2019 LSU team had a better offense and a much better defense. However, Wash has been giving vibes of that LSU team since the beginning of this season
Washington offense is better. Pennix has more targets! 4 WR and 1 TE caught 5 catches against the Longhorns!
Both defenses gave up ~25 points vs P5 opponents and ranked high 30s/low 40s in scoring defense - so basically on par. If anything, there's a gap between offenses.
Penix should of been Heisman. If he was undefeated and had his stats in SES i gurantee he would of been Heisman
