Thanks. Fellowships and employment contracts are usually paid out on a monthly basis.

Not close to my own field, but there are fellowships around for all kinds of fields of science. It would be best to contact potential hosts and ask them, they would know better what fellowships are most promising (even though I am quite sure the ones I mention offer fellowships in all fields of science).
