Big talk from behind a screen. They can’t take the chance that they are wrong, and it is real, and he winds up IEDing the entire neighborhood with women, kids, and elderly citizens in their homes.
Anybody with half a brain wouldn’t tell the police he has a bomb and is going to kill everyone. The guy clearly had mental health issues based on his prior LE contacts and his mother calling the police because he made her feel unsafe. He’s been investigated for making bombs, or at least attempting to, in the past so historically speaking he is a potential threat. Given all those circumstances what it the smart decision? Assume the guy had a fake bomb or assume the guy had a real bomb?
