    The parts certainly soundes more substantial when you put them down on the table than I was expecting

      They are definitely very solid pieces. They don’t feel cheap by any means.

      @@Imitating Maybe it feels cheap due to color of your choice.
      But I'm considering of getting one of these in Raw Silver.

      Not sure if you missed the "don't" in my comment. The black does not feel cheap, and given the way that the color is applied, I would imagine all their colors should feel identical in quality. It's a solid product, I'm sure you'll love the raw silver.

    Ordered and just received my set with normal knife, tsa knife and spork. No issues here and seems like they fixed the problem.

    Seems cool at first, but wouldn't putting a plastic fork and spoon take up less space/weight and be good-enough for emergency utensil needs? How often do you run into a situation where you lack a utensil? For a knife, you probably already have one with you if needed.

    • @Imitating
      @Imitating  2 роки тому +1

      I think their whole concept is to get away from plastics when at all possible.

    • @DouglasPelo
      @DouglasPelo 2 роки тому

      @@Imitating All the while, using actual plastic with their packaging? I can't help but chuckle at that. The green angle is just a marketing guise for the uninformed. I wonder how much plastic and energy goes into manufacturing the utensils, along with the packaging, logistics, and company? I'd rather buy from an honest company that is up front. For now, I would just carry an emergency utensil that I would use on occasion rather than spend $40 on a kit and pretend I'm doing good. If you really want to go green, don't have kids.

      @@DouglasPelo I reuse bubble wrap all the time, as do a good amount of people whether they care for environment or want to save some cash.
      Having one of these is surely better than using plastic utensils at a takeaway and then throwing in the bin.

      We haven’t had a chance to use these yet as our state is still staying safe at home. We are still awaiting the replacement knife pieces, so hopefully those will arrive before we plan to eat while out and about again. The Rain Straws are really nice though - just wish they had a shorter option.

    How good is the spoon for eating cereal? More specifically, cornflakes?

    • @Imitating
      @Imitating  2 роки тому +1

      I’m hoping someone who has experience with this will see your comment and jump in… because we honestly haven’t eaten cold cereal in a long time now (before we got these). Best I can tell when comparing it to standard kitchen spoons…. It’s slightly wider than our smaller spoon size, but not as long. It’s definitely not as deep or wide as our larger spoon… and that would’ve been our preferred size for eating something like cornflakes (mostly because I feel getting a decent amount of milk with each bite is necessary for a good cold cereal eating experience). So while it would certainly work, I don’t feel it would be ideal. Hope that helps while you’re awaiting someone who can answer this from experience.

      Wish it had just been this, but unfortunately they had a little hiccup in the earliest production group. This turned out to be an actual issue that needed replacement parts. After a few brief emails to confirm that this was in fact the bad parts, they took care of it completely. Great company in our experience.

    • @Imitating
      @Imitating  4 роки тому +2

      Yes they did. They did have us try a few things at home first, but when those steps didn't correct the issue, they were quick to get replacements in the mail. 👍🏼

    Too much work

    • @Imitating
      @Imitating  2 роки тому

      That’s fair. It is more work then a utensil that doesn’t need to be assembled - although it does pack into smaller spaces that have length limitations. It also more work than a single use item as it will need to be washed, but of course avoiding single use is their primary goal.
