In the 80s there was a guy who did a routine in a Piper Aerostar. I forget his name but I'll never forget his show. He also had a Waco that he'd perform in. The smallest, tightest diameter 360 turns I have ever seen. Defies logic. With the AStar, I read that he pushed everything up to the stops and they stayed there for the whole routine. He'd get so low on his high-speed passes I was just waiting to hear those props hit the asphalt. It was a great show, much like this Baron. I had the good fortune to get a few hundred hours in a 601P AStar. Loved every minute of it.
33 years professional flying and two displays that made me breathless, Seeing Bob Hoover`s display in person and this year, Farnborough UK watching the Lockhhed test pilots loop a LM100J (C130). ua-cam.com/video/HTuL2-ND-68/v-deo.html

Roberto - Sounds like you have seen Mr. Hoover fly too...I have seen him in Reno a number of times...always amazing. Bob was a long time friend of Chuck Yeager and worked with him way back when Yeager broke the sound barrier...guys who led the way in aviation.
Cap'n Sully had that manoeuver down pat. Then there was the Gimli Glider episode, that Captain was side slipping and handling a 767 like a glider to hit a runway that was obstructed and the size of a postage stamp and he pulled it off with no fatalities.
Reminds me of Bob Hoover routine with his Aero Commander! I don’t recall him doing a dead stick landing though, that is truly awesome indeed. Someone needed to rush up to David with a glass of water as he deplaned and waved to the crowd, a perfect night cap!! Really great show! Thank you!
Bob's routeen was to take off, shut his engines down, do his flight and land, deadstick, and stop in the same spot he started from. I was AMAZED the first time I saw him do it! His comment was there would be less crashes if pilots knew what their plane was capable of.
I could feel the G’s while watching this like I never felt watching a combat jet or Extra 300s. Something about watching the Baron do aerobatics made me really feel it.
@@mattf49006 Exactly. These guys are pros at minimizing the stresses on the airframe while doing aerobatic maneuvers. Good way for an inexperienced person to rip wings off.
@@billg7205 That's what I was thinking, sheer the metal right off the frame of the wings. He's been doing aerobatic stuff since age 17 I believe. Just incredible what a Baron can do. 8-point roll with no engines? wow
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO to the stunning Pilot,my dad owned a B52 BARON and I didn't know such plane could Perform in such X-Treme flying truly amazing !!!
Only one could begin an aerobatic routine from zero altitude ,in a twin, with both engines feathered. Maybe we will see the likes of that again after seeing this display.Well done.
Reminds me of the Gimli Glider episode. That Captain flew a 767 onto a postage stamp of a strip using nothing but skill and a knowledge of gliders. The Gimli strip was (at the time of the landing) littered with all sorts of obstructions for a drag race set up. There were no injuries other than to people who used the aft exits. The landing feat could not be duplicated by anyone in the sim. All said and done it was nothing short of miraculous.
I would love to see this performance where the only sounds were the roar of the Baron engines, and the whistle of the plane while the engines were silent.
airailimages OSH has the worst announcers. It doesn’t bother me when they are talking about a newer aircraft or it’s a little aerobatic type, but I would be happy if they would just keep quiet when any vintage or warbirds is flying past. Their guys never stop talking. I’m glad not all Air shows are that inconsiderate. I would think most people come there to see and HEAR the vintage engines. And if the talking isn’t bad enough, this year They play that siren the entire time the warbirds flew along with the talking. What a mess. It cost a ton of money to go there. I want to hear aircraft! LOL. At least the speakers are behind you there, not in front
Of course, so many people compared him to Hoover, and rightfully so, he basically is flying Bob's Energy Management Series. Furthermore, he's not putting any more then 3Gs on the airplane, so it's not like the airplane is being unduly stressed.

finally something new and refreshing on the airshow circuit. Bob Hoover is smiling down on you.
Air shows are ruined by blabbering DJs and music.

Exactly what I was thinking. Is that Bob Hoover? Wha? 2018?
I hear Bob Hoover's plane his Areo cammander is in the air and space museum

Wow! It's like a tribute to Bob A. Hoover. Well done!
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking Bob in the Shrike. .Very Impressive We got a NEW BARRON,Both Pilot & Plane!!

Hell of a pilot, bob hoover is smiling from heaven at you !!!
Great flying and energy management, loved the inverted flying. Brings back all by soaring days .
An excellent show of skill managing his potential energy.
More training on this subject would save lives.

Well said !!!
David Wiebe definitely helped that the landing gear collapsed, for the people on the ground Atleast.
Fantastic pilot, great show!
In my youth I have seen Bob Hoover flying the Rockwell Commander in Germany at our GA airfield, these baron pilots skills are just amazing same way
This guy is incredible. Smooth as hell. Bob Hoover talent no doubt.

Always loved the sound of those engines.... reminds me of Bob Hoover’s display as well....
There's a real warbird quality to that sound :)
Super nice camera work! Thanks for posting!
What a beautiful forward slip!! Well done sir!!

Saw this on Thursday of last week! So impressive. I love his landing.. Amazing to see how well that Baron glides.
If you've done any flying you know that this takes tremendous skill! What a graceful touchdown. Wish I could fly with you Sir!

Kinda like Gary Ridgeway. He’s a pro.

Big respect for this pilot, well done!
Bravo , bravo ,bravo, Mr. David Martin is flyer indeed.
Thank You! Thank You! Really I wish I had his talent. Signed, David A. Martin
I applaud you sir. Truly a master demonstration.
Glad to finally see a video of this performance on UA-cam. No one posted one for sun n fun
Now there is a master of energy management. Mr. Hoover has to be smiling down on you
As a BE55 owner, it reaffirms my belief that the Baron is an absolutely wonderful GA platform. Love my Baron!
enjoyed my time in the Baron, Beech makes some solid airplanes
Great plane! Enjoy it!
lets see ya do that on one engine and survive ahahaha cant
Edward Ricciardelli I love my 55 also. The BEST ga piston twin.
Email oh yeah, loving it ALWAYS. I have never had a problem with my spar.
Those 520's were SCREAMING.
What a pilot, absolutely beautiful flying !
BEAUTIFUL! I didn’t know a Baron was capable of such maneuvers
*_Amazing. Nice footage! Congratulations!_*
Awesome flying but also great job filming as well great quality. I would love to get the chance to fly a Baron!
Gee, what a great performance ! I like this.
Superb presentation! David M deserves a cold beer and wings!😉
This guy is awesome. I'll take flying lessons with him. Great job !!!!
Does he give pilot training?

after seeing this display.Well done.
Superb performance! Great job.
Amazing Airmanship. I didn't. know Barons were even capable of aerobatics. This one went inverted and handled 4 point roll like an Extra!
I love this guy !!!!
Amazing. Better than most airshows
B55 colemill is a workhorse and sportster. She saved my life from a Texas thunderstorm.
Wow! Great pilot! Congrats!
Skills! Wing-rockin' great show!
That was a joy to watch!
Awesome, both of you
Very smooth and precision flying
Bob Hoover. Saw him do his dead stick thing in Reno long ago. While this was good, Hoover's version was unbelievable. He was the master.

Incredible pilot
IF I WIN A LOTTO I WILL BUY A BARON AND THX 4 POSTING!
Good Sheeow David! Thanks!
This pilot definitely got inspiration from the Legend Mr Bob Hoover
Never seen Baron stunts before, very cool!
Dam that little plane is cool, that man can fly
So smooth. Great pilot
If an Aero Commander can do it..a Baron can do it!!!! Channeling Bob Hover!!!!!
This guy deserves a Medal !
Totally amazing! I used to do this in flightsim but didn't think it was possible in real life in a non aerobatic aircraft
Prop accumulators obviously installed to enable those quick restarts. Just like the Army T-42( same Baron B-55) in which I trained 51 years ago.
Took my twin IFR solo in a Beech Baron. Great little plane and very easy to fly. Liked the cockpit layout . No flying from a wheelchair. 😞
Welcome back, Mr. Hoover.
Excellent spectacular.
Saludos desde Buenos Aires Argentina.
👍😎
It was so graceful, and quiet that it should have been set to the musical masterpiece, "The Blue Danube," by Johan Strauss.
He definitely is channeling the spirit of Bob Hoover.
I want him as my CFI. When he makes an appearance, he makes an appearance.
😁 🍿
I would love to see this performance where the only sounds were the roar of the Baron engines, and the whistle of the plane while the engines were silent.
Shades of a Bob Hoover show.............Rip Bob.....😎
I was there. Great footage!
oh wow, that must have been some show. get that guys autograph because some day you can give it to your grandkids
Wow, Showww, I Remembered The Great Bob Hoover ! 😊😊😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So great.
It's funny, the announcer is TWICE as annoying when he's whispering while both props are feathered. We have eyes! Shut up!!
Nice routine,good job!
Makes me really miss Bob Hoover. Time to discuss out the VHS player and a box of tissues....
Wow, this guy can fly!
Good on ya! Interesting comments about the loudspeaker system. Wish we could avoid it, and I sympathize with you!

That guy is so good that he could land even without wings.
or with his parachute LOL
The pitch on those props is nuts
Bob Hoover did this routine, and I recall it included a dead stick landing at the end.
Yes, and he stopped in the spot he started from!
Well done! would like to see how long those engines last with all the shock cooling
That pilot knows his stuff. He did a side slip to bleed off speed. No move for a rookie.
Tim Timmons I was just thinking Bob Hoover reincarnated! Great performance!
Nos trás à memória as manobras de Bob Hoover...!!!

That was great! I always knew a Baron was capable of such but never met an owner willing to try! Better inspect the spar carry-thru.
this is a heavily modified plane..dont try this in YOUR junkers
Outstanding!
preciosa exibicion acrobatica...exelente...felicidades a este piloto...
Could this be another Someone who watched The Famous Bob Hoover for years
Fantastic!!!!!
Amazing skills
Muita habilidade e experiencia do piloto, no final da acrobacia, planar e caranguejar com aeronave com os dois motores parados!
Piece of cake... easy .... Like Tex Johnson said... “just a simple 1G maneuver”. Done it in C-210, C414, Be58 and Navajo ...
Amazing!
Bob, the mechanics!
Awesome!
Impecable !!!!
I truly wonder how he would manage an egress in order to use the parachute.
So how long before he pulls the wings off of it?
That was awsome.finally some who fly's like me.
Wow! Thats awesome! Fantastic skills there.
Outstanding camera work . Now all we need is an announcer filter.
great flying
Maestro!!!
