FMS flap servos usually need to be over driven to about 125 in spektrum servo setup, to bring them up level. Those rock hard tires are always loud. The 3 blade prop is going to give you that low and slow flight performance most folks are going to want to do with this plane. It's definitely on my short list. 👍
I remember my Civil Air Patrol squadron commander taking me flying all the time back in the late 1970's in our Colorado squadron's 182. He used to do this one training touch and go maneuver where he'd set the back wheels down but never let the nose wheel come down. He'd hold this for much of the runway then we'd take off again. He was a bad ass pilot. He was an enlisted man in the Air Force but a very fine officer and pilot in the Civil Air Patrol! RIP Major Pete Dolvig, a Cincinnati guy.
As much as I like this C-182, I would REALLY love it if FMS came out with a C-177 Cardinal or even the RG version. FMS has outstanding models. Nice demo of this magnificent model!
Still rocking the vintage flyzone select scale cessna, and i haven't seen any model as scale as it but this looks like a very nice future upgrade.. i must have a cessna in my hangar!!!
That’s a beautiful scale airplane with pretty decent performance. It looks like it will do plenty of aerobatics if you manage your power and fly it on the wing. All in all, a pretty solid offering at $300.00. I would consider this to be a direct competitor to the E-Flite Cherokee.
I owned and flew a C182K for many years. Easy systems, and never had any major issues. Could have been faster, but no matter how fast you go, you always want to go faster. You won't regret owning a Skylane.
My first plane was a 182 i got off of hobby king. About the same size as this. it was also sold under the flyzone name as well it was the best beginner and scale offering at the time. Back then no gyros or assistance do you needed a stable bird to learn. It was just like this i wish i still had it.
This new 182 looks great. I have the older Sky Trainer from FMS and I love it. My plane is getting a little worn out. This will make a great replacement.
I bought the 1300mm Dynam C182 and out of the box I noted the nose gear was a failure. It collapsed in the 3rd landing, and it was a smooth one. I re-built it as a reinforced version and so far so good.
I can attest to that fact. Front gear is crap. I changed mine with a 3D printed, spring loaded shock nose gear. So much better than OEM. The Dynam Skytrainer 182 used the exact same gear. FMS purchased the materials from Dynam. Also, performance greatly increased with 4S packs. Just be careful not to overheat the motor and use a 40 amp sc, which I think came stock with the FMS. Dynam used a 30 amp, which the 4S was overheating. Great flier!
Had this exact plane under the "dynam" label. It was fairly durable, however, the front gear is weak and the metal is quite plyable. Bent the first flight landing on some rough grass. Ended up replacing with a different nose gear.
@@eminstinct4114 They usually get stuck AFTER you've been flying for a while. Then you learn about it after you're done crashing. Been there, done that.
But you also do gotta think that when ppl buy rc planes a lot of ppl put them in a room to show them off , only few ppl actually drive them , but I get what u mean they could’ve been a little better
Beautiful !! But those Wheels sound like there gonna fall off 4 yrs ago I put a FPV Camera on the Pro Boat Tug from Horizon Hobby when over 400m Distance it helps to line up the Tug to Boat.
The wheels are definitely "nails on the chalkboard"...screaming for a small dab of axle grease. Had several of these 'screech-wheeled' planes, so far all quieted down after lubing.
No kidding soft tyres. Most people would rather pay a couple of dollars up front if they don't have a kit of spares on hand. Or you can do what I do as do many others, fly off grass.
That's reallly cool. For anyone starting out..... or someone that has been watching these sorts of vids , you certsinly showed how user friendly it can be for a furst timer . Wonder if there is a "" how to "" vid for learning how to use it properly , from the manufacturer ? ?
NEED to Square the FLIGHT Pattern into the final landing Config RIGHT or Left Down wind leg then reduce speed to come into final set flaps IF needed Never on Strong winds !! FLOATS TOO MUCH when applying flaps ALL Cessna scale or Real need some Down elevetator trim to keep app speed tends to NOSE UP !! You're increasing the ROOT of the wing Airfoil curvature .
If landing speed is low enough, flaps shouldn't cause ballooning, hold a little down elevator or set a little down trim. Not sure how reflex interacts with flaps. Needs rubber wheels, ugly rolling noise.
Hi Jay you are definitely a super pilot and this is one of the most beautiful Cessnas I’ve seen in a long time I absolutely love your channel my friend Sincerely abundant love and blessings from Canada sincerely Richard ❤
Im loving how it looks and how it flys. Please when you make it FPV put rubber wheels on it, that would be a major change. It's going to be really cool when you have it FPV and you'll be able to see the guys arm moving. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family ✌️ 😊👍🙏🏼
I just crashed mine 11 year old cesna 182 1400mm here for like an hour ago, first fligth ever 🤣 broke one of the wingligth and one of the blades for the propel 🥲
The pilot flies the airplane. This pilot is two steps ahead of the airframe while in flight and a beginner is always chasing the tail. I know this because I started as a beginner and worked my way up to where this pilot is.
Im not sure if I want the blue or red? I have the HH Cirrus red and and its a great flyer but id dont know red or blue and I also have the HH rv7 blue..idk??? red looks better in the sky but blue is my fave color???
Hey jay awesome plane, I’ve barely gotten into Rc planes. First one I got was the Fs sensei trainer but came in for a nose dive landing on some pretty high grass. Since then haven’t gotten another because they’re a little pricey. But I’ve been messing with the 3 channel airbuses and made some pretty cool configurations. Please like if interested and I will release detailed videos on what I did with them for you to show all the fans/aviation freaks.
Yup, those wheels/tires. They might be square. Then the other thing is the engine sound. Not quite a good match to the real thing. But otherwise, really nice.
Just got the cessana with a reflex v3. And a brand new NX8 transmitter. Can you recommend a receiver. I'm a complete novice and know nothing. Will need to practice flying a bit more on my cheaper planes before I fly this one. But it looks so fantastic i could not resist getting one to use in the near future. Lol. Thanks Paul.
I have a spectrum remote control and I’ve never built a plane so don’t I have to put a spectrum receiver in the plane? I pretty much want the same set up You have with the V3 in it.
Lol. I wrote that comment a long time ago. I just did the Maiden flight on the Cessna last weekend. I ended up putting in an Spektrum AR631 as it comes with gyro and I figured less electronics and wiring to go wrong without using the V3. But I love this plane so much I bought a second one so I can have one with floats
I just bougth the 1 edition of it, 11 years old, With the fms x-6 transmitter. First lunch rigth in the ground 😪 so now i'll be waiting 2 days to do a second launch. Got a pitts to but With my amatur fligthskills i dont dare to send it up before i have learnt to fly the cesna 182 1400mm😂
Did some digging. It's actually not the wheels. It's the plastic housing around them. Too much flop on that and the metal rod through the wheel. Im sure it's fixable.
JAY! FYI: The wheels are fine, all that noise is coming from your axles because the axles are BONE DRY! You need to apply a drop or two of oil on the wheel axles and it will quietly grease the landings. When they are dry they will loudly chatter and also wears out the plastic contacting the axle. Do this to all your airplanes and you'll see a big difference. What is better is to add a little bit of grease if you have the time to remove the wheels. Again, those wheels are perfect, don't replace them... ( :
Unfortunately discount code doesn't work. Even if launching page from link directly above it. Wondering if the code is enough to justify the purchase, when they know full well you'll still need to swap that risky telemetry-free receiver. Who builds a plane without battery telemetry in 2024????
I've built two RC planes straight up straight down both times. Next time I fly it will be me in it. At least four toy cars crashed. So given I never crashed a car but once. I'll be flying this summer.
Yes, I passsd ground school during covid. Don’t want to take flight lessons until I buy a plane and can take them in my own aircraft. Probably do it sooner than later.
You are so right, that is a BEAUTIFUL scale plane and you fly it just as beautiful.
FMS flap servos usually need to be over driven to about 125 in spektrum servo setup, to bring them up level.
Those rock hard tires are always loud.
The 3 blade prop is going to give you that low and slow flight performance most folks are going to want to do with this plane.

Would have switched the wheels to foamies ASAP
Apparently FMS designers are "tone deaf". Can't they provide better wheels.

I have the exact same model, first made by Dynam called the Skytrainer 182, who sold all spares to FMS. Great flier!
She just wants to fly! Beautiful!

Great video great dialogue. Thanks, Al 8:29
Can't wait to see your upcoming video with the FPV set up.
Awesome video! Fantastic piloting, and I'm always a sucker for scale models.

Don't forget to mention the 5 dollar plastic gear servos on a 300 dollar plane!
those 5 dolar servos should be fine if you check them before each flight to make sure they spin smoothly

What a gorgeous looking model I'd love one of these 😎 🔥 😍
I enjoy the high wing planes for sure the Cessna is really cool
This is great! They should make a Piper Cherokee Arrow!
You can change the wheels out for rubber ones.. Or you can spray Silicone lube on the wheels.. Works for a short time..
No kidding soft tyres. Most people would rather pay a couple of dollars up front if they don't have a kit of spares on hand.
Or you can do what I do as do many others, fly off grass.
Love that 182! Wow, so easy to operate! Yeah, the gear wheels do sound pretty hideous. Great video and awesome flying, man! 😊
I had an FMS RC Cessna 182 1400mm about 10 years ago before I could actually fly. It was only around $200 RTF. It did not last too long....
I’d like to see some grass runways as lots of clubs only have grass. Nice bird. Good flying bro.
That's reallly cool.

Very happy, I bought my first edf
There is a line in the wing next to the clip that says cg lol
I am subed and like all you videos i love them keep it up

i am very scared to get a plane over 200 dollars because I feel I will obliterate it
That's why you start with cheap planes to get better.
Try the simulator
Put safe on it
Get a plane with safe on it, have a place with MORE than enough space.
I just crashed mine 11 year old cesna 182 1400mm here for like an hour ago, first fligth ever 🤣 broke one of the wingligth and one of the blades for the propel 🥲
Pls can you do a video about a volantex asw 28? Its a 2,6m glider
Gorgeous plane! Looking forward to your scale head-tracking FPV flights on this beauty!
Love scale planes !🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Nice plane and you pilot skills are fabulous.
Great flying , fun video and what a nice place to fly
Those wheels make my teeth hurt. Your right. Great looker if you have a runway. Love your channel. Thanks.
Dope. Everything’s better with FPV.
Damnit, I came from drones, just went to cars and crawlers, now to planes thanks to you 😅
Ahahaaa welcome to the plane world! I love cars. FPV’ing those too! All videos will be coming soon.
A koła można po prostu okleić kawałkiem gumowej taśmy. Będzie idealnie ;)
Pozdrawiam
Can't wait to see the fpv mod
I wish the makers of these scale planes would ensure clearer plastic so FPV gear can be placed in them.
That would be an excellent second purchase for a beginner.
What would be a first purchase for a beginner?
I bought the Banana Hobby version of the 182, great 👍 value.
Hey jay awesome plane, I’ve barely gotten into Rc planes. First one I got was the Fs sensei trainer but came in for a nose dive landing on some pretty high grass. I'm looking for a high wing RC plane to get back into flying again. To knock off the rust after an 8 year hiatus. This looks like the one I need.
🔥🔥🔥
That thing is a beauty even better in Red
Awesome model! Just wondering if the lights came from factory like that, cos the nav lights and strobes are plugged in the wrong way around?
EXCELLENT JOB WELL DONE 👏 ✔️ 👍
Do spektrum remotes work with FMS RTF planes? Or do you have to switch out receiver?
The plane come without receiver so you have to buy it. You can take whatever you want
The fact that a plane THAT SCALE and that BEAUTIFUL can hover is just BANANAS🤯 Not apples… not oranges 😂😂
I ordered one. I had to order it from China and it’s on its way I can’t wait
Lowered my stress level watching 🤠🥳🤙🏼
Nice flying man.
Awesome looking plane!
Such a beautiful rendetion on the 182...Why do they so often get the lights wrong?
So nice for your plane❤❤❤❤ like realistic

5:29. she lands just like my students!!!
I'd get rid of the plastic wheels so it doesn't sound like crap when it landed other than that I think it's cool
Did some digging. It's actually not the wheels. It's the plastic housing around them. Too much flop on that and the metal rod through the wheel. Im sure it's fixable.
Everyone wants one but it's a hanger queen I feel like ide want to fly a more fun plane but if it had floats than that adds to the fun
Any suggestions to put better tires
For Christmas i only asked for a rc air plane and it is 75 pounds i don't know if i will get it 😅

That is a beautiful model. But, man, FMS has gotten a lot of mileage out of that pilot. I think he may be in every FMS plane that I've owned.
AHAHAAA! Time to update the Pilot!
@@Jays_rcgarage Yeah, think it's time. I had their old Skytrainer, which of course was a 182. What was that, 10 years ago? Same pilot.
😅

Can that plane be binded to a DX6 remote control
You would need a Spektrum receiver. AR620 for basic. Or if you want safe and as3X you need a AR630
Watching this video again 👍👍great flying . Can a beginner fly this plane?? Thx
A little Super Lube quiets those wheels.
Hi Jay, compare to timber and ranger, which one has the most aerobatic capable ?
Them wheel hey!
Nice plane, thanks for sharing
pretty plane
cant wait fpv mode !
Very nice. 👍🏻
Jay i tried using your discount code on fms and it says not valid?
Jay where did you get this from and when will it be avaliable to buy?
Plz reply jay kujan
I am a huge fan but just wondering have you ever flown a real aircraft because you said you've been wanting one of these planes?
Yes, I passsd ground school during covid. Don’t want to take flight lessons until I buy a plane and can take them in my own aircraft. Probably do it sooner than later.
really I didn't know@@Jays_rcgarage
Very nice, how big are the wheels for start and landing in grass?
The mains are 2-3/8" diameter and nose is 2".
I bet the power to weight is a lot different on that than the real thing!
Is it a ready to fly kit out of the box? If so it is a great deal for $300
Did the plane come with the batteries??
No battery, transmitter or receiver included.
Is it a foam jobbie?
I love the scale detail, but I’m also a big touch-and-go person, so those wheels make it a no-go for me 😢
Lubrication will quiet the wheels.
This must be a new version of the FMS 182. My FMS Cessna 182 is very different to this
You most likely have the FMS "1400mm" model. This is a 1500mm plane.
If it’s supposed to be to scale then they should’ve put rubber wheels on?
How long is the range?
lol if only a 182 could do aerobatics like that 😂😂😂.
They can…once.
