Do you guys have glass rx lenses? or only plastic ones??
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about are progressive lenses good for computer work? try Scarlazzina Exemplary Genie (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off product for finding the secret for natural eyesight improvement minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my old buddy Taylor at very last got amazing success with it.
You guys have great customer service!!!!! I recently purchased a pair of glasses off you guys and had a miscommunication and you guys were quick to handle it thank you
In other words, buying digital online is almost pointless since you have to have your optician measure your vertex distance, optical center, etc...of your chosen eyewear, right?
Excellent explanation and the best one I’ve been able to find!
Fantastic to hear! That's why we made it! Thank you for the awesome feedback!
I just got new glasses. They are the digital, progressive. What a huge difference in clarity! I have my older glasses, and a pair of sun glasses and safety glasses. These blow them all away. They were a little more $$, but When you look to the side, it’s still clear, not burry like the others. It’s actually like putting on HD glasses! I’m sold. Thanks for explaining, very helpful.
Thank you for your feedback! It's great hearing from others about their experience; thanks for watching!
The video was helpful thank you.
Great stuff, love your Channel
Thank you so much for saying that! We're here to help!
GOD BLESS YOU !!! Can I use Oakley wind jacket 2.0 for road cycling I hear they are for snow ?😬
Hi, is digital vision only available in the US or would you know if its also offered in Asia i.e. Philippines where Im at? Appreciate you response. Thanks
Could you guys do a review of the oakley radar ev path prizm black and the prizm road ev paths... for comparison.
how do I find someone online or locally who makes digital lenses
I had cataract surgery to correct for distance. Now I need glasses for close up (and some astygmatism). I got a pair of glasses but I swear the prescription is in the wrong place. When I read I have to lift my glasses to where the prescription is. I have been told that the prescription is put in the lense expecting readers to look down. I guess I don't look down that much. So, I thought I needed not just what seems to be less than a dime worth of prescription, prescription across the entire lower half of my glasses. But maybe this digital stuff will correct for my problem?
I'm sold waiting for my Rx
About to get some prescription Holbrook XL’s. This helped.
Glad we helped! Thanks for tuning in!
Mr. Optician, thank you for explaining Digital Vision.
Happy to help! That is for watching!
Interesting, I think this type of distortion is what I’m facing with the lenses from my local optometrist’s lab. Compared to my Oakley flak betas, which have Oakley lens, my local lenses suffer from edge distortions where the Oakley lenses do not.
I'm sorry to hear about your issues! Ask them if they have a digital option or you can always reach out to us! We have friendly, excessively knowledgeable opticians who would love to help you with any-all questions at 888-831-5817.
Thanks for watching!
I have high myopia which is -16 and -9. Can i wear this. Basically i need thin glass. Would it help me?
Hi Suha! Yes, you would most certainly benefit from a hi index lens which is a denser material that reduces overall thickness in the lens. Some people with that high of an Rx strength may experience some sensitivity to the digital lens but rest assured you're stuck with nothing that doesn't work for you! See our return policy below and give us a call to speak with an optician! 888.831.5817

I remember as a kid i was nearsighted and i used to be able to use my glasses to see at a distance and i was able to read and do everything with it I didn’t have to take them off to read , as i have gotten older I wasn’t able to use a single vision lenses for all and now i am using progressive lenses , do you know what that is?
Yes! Presbyopia, a refractive error that makes it hard for middle-aged and older adults to see things up close. It's very common and something that every adult will experience at some point in their lives. It's corrected with reading glasses, bifocals, and progressive lenses.
This absolutely explains nothing about digital. Only that they are better and we should buy the premium. No why, no how. Just using fancy words to mislead people to actually think they are actually explaining something..
I miss the dislike button
So very true
Agree. There is a big miss in the “how”. I know the how but it should be explained that a traditional stock lens has one optical center which leads to a steeper curve especially for stronger prescriptions; this in turn causes more peripheral distortion or that “fish bowl” effect. A digital lens, however, is not stock. They are custom made and surfaced to the exact dimensions of the frame and the exact measurements of the patients pupil in the frame. The custom digital lens is then created with many different optimization points across the entire surface of the lens. With many reference points, the lens can now be flatter and provide a sharper vision and clarity across the entire surface of the lens… EDGE to EDGE. The explanation can get a little technical and granular but I think it’s important to explain for those who want to know “how”. Also, cosmetically, because lenses are able to flatten they will provide a more natural adherence of the wearer’s eyes. Ultimately, this customized process of digital lenses is much more labor-intensive than grabbing a stock pre-made lens… so the cost is substantial. But you do get what you pay for. Better lenses, Better vision.
My hands are bound behind my back and my glasses are slipping down my nose. What do you recommend for getting my glasses back up my nose?
If your hands are bound, how did you type this comment?
Get an eyeglasses ear hook. Check it on amazon.
When you are leaning forward to type with your nose, lean a bit more and push the glasses back up. I have to do it all the time.
Can you use my prescription from my doctor how do I get digital lenses what's my first step
HI Gwendolyn! We can certainly use the prescription from your Dr. and digital lenses are definitely the way to go! You can give us a call (888.831.5817) and an optician can take your order over the phone or you can log onto our website www.sportrx.com/.
Is single vision digital aspheric in design
Hi I'm MUHAMMAD Ali, tell me about HD progressive and 3D progressive and other in 3D,
That is a tough question! It is unclear if you mean 3D like 3D movies or if 3D is someone's term for a digital/freeform progressive design. I can't comment on the former, but for the latter - HD/digital/freeform progressives are the way to go! Protect your investment when it comes to progressives and get a progressive design that will cause you the least amount of grief.
As a reminder - we have many friendly, knowledgeable opticians who would love to help with any/all questions at 888-831-5817!
Great video. Chris helped me get set up with driving glasses on Tuesday. Will get another pair soon.
Thanks for the feedback Anthony and we hope you enjoy your glasses!
How does digital work in the context of progressive eyeglasses?
I think the terminology used in this video is confusing. A ‘digital’ lens means something different across the various lens manufacturers. Certainly in the world of Zeiss, ‘digital’ does not mean single vision.
I think the term single vision freeform would be more accurate.
Thru n thru description of digital version advantage. Jussojuan
I'm asking if there is software that help eye glass and hearing aids can see and lissen sound of Jesus and devils or a video camera software that both make appeared or Microsoft company ask software
This is the greatest (and most unanswerable) question we have ever seen.
this video did not say what digital surfacing is
HI! Digital surfacing is the best single-correction solution available, especially for full wraparound frames. Digital wrap compensation provides edge-to-edge clarity for the crispest, sharpest, most accurate vision possible by cutting the lens to 1/100th of a diopter vs. the standard surfacing methods of 1/4 diopter. What you get is a wider viewing area with less distortion throughout.
@@sportrxeyewearto maximize benefit of digital lenses, should the accuracy of the prescription also be taken down to hundredths of a diopter instead of a quarter diopter?
Nope! The lab will consider all measurements, including the Rx, pd, oc height, etc, and digitally optimize the Rx strength to the frame in which the lens is to be installed.
Pure marketing words..
Doesn't explain anything. Just says they are better. I still don't know what a digital lens is. I don't think the speaker knows what a digital lens is. Why is it called digital? How is it different? What is it that ma my makes it better? Because it's a cool name? Worthless presentation.
Standard single vision surfacing (the process of cutting a prescription to a lens) is the traditional way to produce a set of Rx lenses. This method cuts the lens to 1/4th of a diopter. Diopter, or dpt, is a unit of measurement that describes the optical power of a lens. For example, a prescription of -2.00 means the person is two diopters
nearsighted, which means objects close to their eyes appear clear but objects far away appear blurry. Digital Surfacing (single vision digital) is a lens making process that removes the hard tooling limitations of traditional, or standard, surfacing. This method cuts the lens to 1/100th of a diopter, instead of 1/4th. The result is less distortion throughout in addition to a thinner lens (usually). Digital surfacing is especially important when making Rx lenses to high wrap around frames like the Oakley Flak 2.0 XL as it provides peripheral clarity when looking out the corner of ones eyes where, with standard surfacing, would result in a thicker lens with more distortion and blurriness. Hope this helps!
@@sportrxeyewear Interesting. In talking with your customer service, a couple of your reps (Sport RX) said that for some with high astigmatism, digital cut actually feels distorted than non-digital lenses. So it is not a clear cut that with high prescription, that digital is definitely better for everyone.
This is true and depends a lot on the frame in question, in addition to the patient's sensitivity to specific lens materials and/or base curve (wraparound frames). How the eye communicates images to the brain is very different from person to person. Everything on paper can tell an optician that choice A, B, or C will provide clarity for the patient, but every set of eyes are different. Meaning, two people with the exact same script, same lens type, & same frame might have 2 very different experiences when looking through the finished product. Some people are what we call 'non-adapt' to certain designs (i.e. lens material, curvature, tooling, manufacturing processes, etc). So while the digital design provides better optics in most cases, there are still those whose eyes cannot acclimate to this type of lens cutting process and require only standard surfacing for their glasses.
@@sportrxeyewear Thank you. I had my first experience with your company. Your customer service is absolutely TOP CLASS 5 stars.
