Nice work. Now get some paint out and paint over all those cuts you made so you don't start to get rusting in the future. Also it was a good idea to touch up the rivit holes as well but kind of late for that now. This vents should definitely help with temps. Come back with an update and let us know if it helped.
We sprayed over the cuts. Even with the hood vents, new radiator, waterpump and thermostat we eventually ran into more water cooling issues. Not sure what's next.
@@Rightfootdown try a bottle of water wet in your antifreeze mix. Worked a little for me. Also make sure your fan can keep up with the increased temps. A weak fan can have you jumping threw hoops.
Did you place the vent further back than recommended? I installed it and the last vent opening is barely past the radiator shroud. Anyway, from what I understand, there is a low pressure area near the front of the hood because of the shape and airflow. The low pressure should help pull out the hot air from underhood. This would also help with reducing lift, since low pressure at the hood is lift. Temp is cooler but still run into issue when weather is around 100F. I also run 25% coolant with waterwetter since it does not really freeze in So Cal. I hear the next step is CSF radiator and oil cooler if you really want to cool it down further
We went w KoyoRad. Placed the center vent back further to be behind the radiator to ensure more hot air extraction. Otherwise the vent was nearly on top of the cool intake air duct.
