I can assure you he doesn't do it just because he's his brother he does it because he gets a nice fat ass check out of it and what can't be better than working for your brother and getting a fat check for it
Dropped in to say the same: that's probably the sixth time I've seen Ben knows exactly what he's doing and working through it, everyone takes notice and tells him what he already knows -- guy is a Saint, he listens as they try to figure it out to where he already is and then says, "yeah, you are right that's what I should do," and then gets back to work with a smile
@@ab2230 but he doesn't do it out of the kindness of his heart he works for his brother his brother pays his bills so if the job is X miles away are you going to not have a job or drive to your job and take the time out each week come on now this is stupid thing I fucking heard the guy just does it out of the kindness of his heart laughable this is no disc on Ben he's definitely a great person but he's not driving all those hours every week out of the kindness of his heart he's doing that because his brother pays him a nice fat check.

Love how Paul and Ben are talking thousandths and Papa Dar walks up and says , you have to take from here and put there. Boom WISDOM! LOL
As a millwright it was fun to see a sawmill foreman come in the shop to see "if" we were busy. It always turned into a soapstone drawing on the table, bearing part numbers and the end result was always .010 thrust with 24 gauge shim. The look of wonder was the icing on the cake as the "boss' left shaking his head after listening for 5 minutes.
I'm just happy that everything y'all touch still gets worked or wheeled! Makes things even better that Ben's Jeep made it thru the hammers without taking too much damage and he had fun!

When I had my shop I was always ordering parts weeks in advance then spending hours looking for them and wondering if I really did order it, finally I got a little smarter and started having my wife/boss inventory boxes when they were delivered and log everything in a notebook, we had a parts rack with numbered spaces, part X was in bin 3, man did that make life so much easier, of course I could never point fingers if I'd forgot to order something!
Yes many of us also don't know what Paul and Ben are doing Michelle, but that's why we love Fab Rats ,cause there great thank you

A pro tip from a mechanic:
The best way to remove glued covers/oilsump is to use a Filé knife from the kitchen - No worries to damage any surface 👌

I remember my dad welding the rear end in an old truck we had, we went through many vehicles but the rear end was under all of them. Never did do the front end since they were usually daily drivers. Poor man’s locker but you can’t argue that it works.

I like how the Flag on your shirt is pointed the right way. A lot of people want to flip it around. The rule is the Stars always proceed the Stripes so they should be on the side of the direction you are moving.
@fabrats I worked for a guy that taught me to just add shims to whatever side needed it. Rather than pulling both carrier bearings and moving shims. I thought he was crazy till I did it. Works great!
