    I remember buying this at Home Depot for close to $60(last model seemed like they were making room for newer 4.3 versions). This fridge is still going strong. Haven't had any problems with it at all.

    Looks just like the Vissani 4.3 cu.ft. Mini Refrigerator that's selling for $178 at Home Depot now. Thanks for the review, I think I'm going to give it a try.

    Is anyone experiencing an overflow in the drip tray? Im not sure if its because the floor is not leveled. Its only been about two weeks since we got it. A repair man came by & said the drip tray is small & there is not much that can be done, any advice?

    When setting at 6-7, does your fridge component frost? I know its common for the freezer one to frost. Mine fridge component is frosting and I'm not sure if it's defect or not, Thanks for the help!

      My fridge is freezing my food...even on level 3! And I can't bring it down any more because then it brings down the whole temp of the fridge above 40 degrees. But if I keep my food in the door it's fine. Anyways, because of this inconsistency I'm now buying a bigger apartment size fridge. Vissani had a great idea but it just didn't execute so well...

      vachon310 I have had stuff freeze if it's against the back wall of the fridge. The cooling coils are back there and that's why it gets so wicked cold. It would be good of there were some ridges or something to prevent that, as it sits I just make sure I dont leave stuff against the back wall.

    Thanks for the review. My propane fridge died in my camper the other day, so I'm thinking of buying this one as a replacement. Do you know how many watts/amps are required to run this fridge? I don't see an Energy Star rating?, so might be too inefficient for my off grid requirements. Thanks for any info.

    • @vistagraphsnet
      @vistagraphsnet 9 років тому

      NWHiker It uses less than 700 watts a day. I use mine off grid and can run it with 500 watts to spare with 200 watts of solar panel

      vistagraphsnet I bought that fridge shortly after I posted and it's been working out very well. I got it for $215 at Home Depot. I saw several reviews that warned of shipping damage, so I made sure to un box it in the store and check for damage. Sure enough there was a small dent in the side. I pointed that out and the employee knocked off $15. It's eventually going to be mounted in place of my propane fridge in my camper, so the dent won't be seen. I've been running it non stop and it's working great. Has a large start up requirement and won't kick on with my 500 watt inverter, but starts fine on my 1500 watt inverter. Pulls 60 watts when running. I like how quick it freezes. From plug in to 10 degrees took less than 20 mins. The back wall does freeze up quite fast, so be careful and not have sensitive food pushed up against the back wall. I added a small 12v PC fan in the back corner to circulate the air better and that's evened out the temperature much better. Door items weren't staying cold enough. So far I'm very happy with my purchase, so thank you for your video. Saved me about $1,000 over buying a replacement propane fridge.

    Dave ... I just purchased this same unit. The frost that I see is in the refrigerator section (back panel). Will this go away? This is my first day with the unit and I don't know whether to return it.

    • @davec5613
      @davec5613  9 років тому

      Question That frost on the back panel is forming because the cooling coils are right there. It's ok.
      This is not a frost-free fridge. I have to defrost mine once a year.

      Maybe turn down the setting. I have it on 3-4 and it freezes pretty good and no frost yet. I've had my 4.5 fridge 2 weeks now.

    • @davec5613

      The fridge needs to be empty, turned off, and the doors left open. Just let the frost melt. Don't use a hair dryer.

    I really want to buy this fridge for my dorm room. I know you said in the video that it makes about the same amount of noise as a regular size refrigerator but since I want to keep it inside my room and will be sharing the room, Do you think the noise level is okay to sleep or can it be uncomfortable and bothersome?

    • @davec5613
      @davec5613  8 років тому +1

      no. it's not loud.

    I owned this crap.It began to leak from the ice accumulation within the freezer.It isn't frost free.I wish I inquired about that issue before I made the purchase. I had throw way due to the constant water leakage.

    He made several mistakes placing this fridge: #1 Do not place cooling fridge near heating kitchen stove!
    #2 Do not place microwave on the top of fridge, cause you create two magnetic fields interfearing each other.

      Except the grounded shell (Metal) would kill any magnetic energy leaving the microwave and also get nurfed by the fridge. The fridge has its enclosed metal shelled electrical pump 4 feet below both shielding's. You would get more magnetic interference from a cell phone than this setup. But heck, Alex, you had me at Mistake
