What I do like abt this suit is that it's closer to John Romita Sr design with the bright colors and the more traditional patterns, and I also love the mechanical lenses as well. Only things I not a fan of is the space out webbing patterns, over line details on the blue sections ( in which u mention )and the front logo....idk it just looks like a beetle to me.

My only issues with the suit design are as follows;
- The logo is so small that it can look like a black smudge at a distance.
- The webbing is so faint that it’s tough to see unless you’re up close. While this can be taken as a nod to the comics and how Spider-man is drawn without webbing at a distance to save time and effort, it still makes the suit feel a bit empty in a way (at least for me). I don’t even need the webbing to be raised, just having solid lines that make them clearly visible.
- I don’t have a huge problem with the tech lines, but I do see how the suit could have done away with them.
Now some issues about how it was utilized;
- The shuttered lenses are under-utilized. He keeps taking off the mask so much we can never really see him emote with the mask, and when he does it’s for a few seconds of (usually) minor changes
- I really wish they used the black lines as a way to incorporate a 7 piece suit, even having the in-universe visual of the black lines being the border where the gloves and boots detach from the rest of the suit (along with the other sections) as opposed to the glove coming off at the wrist instead of the elbow.
I'd say most of the suit issues you've said is pretty much the point. It's trying to be sleek, modern like a new Microsoft edge logo.
Honestly, the very small logo is one thing I never really like on Spidey designs. I like when it's either a decent medium size, like the Raimi or TASM suits, or when it's really big and striking like the Insomniac suit. When it's this tiny little thing like it is here, it just makes it feel a little bland to me, idk why.
Bro if they ever showed Peter sharpie-ing thick webbing onto the suit, I'd absolutely lose it. THAT would be my definitive Spider Man

I LOVE this suit! It’s one of the only colourful outfits in the mcu. And I love using it in Spider-Man ps4.
This guy gets me. The Homecoming suit is my favorite Spider-Man suit of all time! I love the moving eyes and the black lines of the suit, they did a great job on creating a sleek, modern suit while still trying to keep that Spider-Man shine.

I've never had an issue with this suit, infact when it was first revealed it was kind of a fresh air to see a live-action suit that was trying to go for a more classic John Romita look.
There's two big issues with this suit though. For one, while it looks great in on-set photos, the films have a really bad habit of unnecessarily covering it with CG which makes it look super fake a lot of the time. Also, while I respect the decision to use a more classic webbing pattern, it could have been a bit bolder, maybe even slightly raised. The webbing is so thin that most of the time during action scenes you can't even see it and it looks more like some weird all-red muscle suit or something.
Also liked the suit and specificaly the detail where the tool/gadget belt and web shooters are slightly thicker to actual be more acurate to the comics where he sometimes does use gadgets

The Homecoming suit is very good , the only problem is that it doesn't suit this peter , this peter is young and it doesn't make sense for a young peter parker to have an advanced technological suit , but the suit itself , is very good . especially the moving lenses !
I see wym but I think it sorta grows to fit the narrative MCU Peter takes on with NWH, the stark suit is one of the biggest contributions to the argument that he was handed everything and never had to work for it, and when he loses everything in NWH it makes it feel like not just Peter’s lost his roots and life, Spider-Man has too
It’s the point of the movie that the suit doesn’t fit the character until the end
The raimi movies had different suits. They didn’t fit but we praise the raimi suit

I like deeper blues on my Spidey suits, so I LOVED the Civil War suit and was lukewarm towards the Homecoming, almost turquoise, light blue. And it was no longer silk/reflective blue, which is another one of my favorite aspects of the Ditko suit.
But I absolutely love the design for this suit. The lenses being a nod to Peter's knack for photography was GENUIS and got us a really expressive suit to boot. And I love the shape and size of the eyes, the lack of raised webbing, and the classic back logo. All in all, a really faithful adaptation of the Ditko suit with some techy flare thrown in. Along with the web wings, man I love those silly things.
I don't love the homecoming suit as much as I used to when I was a wee lad but I remember being absolutely obsessed with the suit and following all the forums trying to recreate the screen printing and the black lines. Think they're made of foam latex like the raimi webs since it's a easy solution to rigid flexible material and they couldn't care less about how it holds up over time since it only really needs to survive filming anyway.
In my opinion, the homecoming/civil war suit is easily the best and my favourite spider-man suit ever! One of the reasons why is that it has stark technology, something that I never thought of, so seeing spider-man's suit made by iron man is awesome for me.
I love how they incorporate the webshooters on the outside of the costumes

I think Deadpool have the perfect eye interpretation in any superhero suit and the MCU tried to make something like that.
I hope in the future they would introduce some of that balance, even it can work with other characters like Spawn or the Turtles.
Yeah I'm really happy about the fact that they literally nailed translating deadpool's suit from comic to live action while keeping it just like the comic
@@Wortwort-Spooderbat and i loved how they did it too. they did 1 scene with deadpool's static mask, then do the scene again with ryan's face, and then used cgi to mimic how ryan expressed himself in the mask scenes
The moving lenses are so incredibly important to why I love spiderman, how expressive he is.
When you watch the ferry scene, you can truly see the struggle peter is going through to pull them together as his eyes close, and when he’s on the washington monument, his eyes widen showing how anxious he is to have been this high.
When I imagine any Raimi/ Tasm suit in these scenes, I feel like you wouldn’t be able to show any kind of emotion (unless you took off his mask like the train scene).
Thats why these suits (particularly ffh and the final nwh suit) will always be my favorites.
In the Amazing films, Andrew Spidey was able to show emotion through his body language though.
In the Raimi Films, taking off Peter’s mask to show emotion was the EXACT reason his mask always got ripped in the Final Battle of every movie.
I think you missed the whole point of the static lenses: don't show his real emotions. That's why in comics static lenses are still canon, but some artist use the expressive ones because they are easier to draw than head angles and body language.
The moving eyes being copied frequently after homecoming even further supports your point about how clever the idea really is
I've always liked this suit, I think it's great, blue lines included. One thing to note, is that PS4 includes the civil war suit with a deep blue hue, but homecoming has a light sky blue, which I much prefer. Also, shrinky eyes is a must and I hope they never go back to regular style lenses (not that those outfits weren't good, but I would love to see them with shrinky lens too)!
This suit is easily my favorite out of any spider suit to ever exist, I just like the black lining so much, plus all the stuff you said in the vid

i like the colors, the web pattern, i kinda like the eyes but i wish they were bigger. i don’t like the black lines but they would work if the black lens were thicker. great video though keep it up!

This suit is shows that there is Beauty in Simplicity, and I really like it for that, besides the dark blue lines but those don't really hurt my over all enjoyment of the suit. Also, the front logo kinda looks like a Hexbug to me.
The thing that holds this suit back for me is the unnecessary black lines being too intrusive, the logo being too small, and the webbing being too discrete. The Avengers Campus suit takes the concept of the Stark suit, and fixes 2/3 of the problems I have with it.
Glad to see this one! The Homecoming/Stark Suit felt like such a revelation at the time of its debut. Before then, I never knew I needed Spider-Man to have black accents, nor that the spider symbol could be so radically different, yet still retain that fundamental Spider-Man identity. It's my second favorite front symbol, outmatched only by the Sensational symbol.
My love for the suit has since waned over the years, as I remember it used to be my outright favorite, but eh...tastes change. Even so, I could never deny its brilliant conveyance, nor ability to refine Spider-Man's most critical features down to a literal science. I can't wait to use the suit once I get Spider-Man Remastered.

I honestly think the Homecoming suit and Iron Spider suit are BOTH references to the Parker Industries: Homecoming references how a classic suit could be super-techy to the minimum, and the Iron Spider is how a spider armor that looks like the classic suit could be super-techy to the maximum.

One of my favourite things about the Homecoming suit is it’s subtle pink hue into the red segments of the suit. Not just in the PS4 game, but in some shots of Homecoming the red segments appear pink. I like this cause it supports the idea of an younger & more innocent Peter. Kind of a contrast of the TASM 1 suit which used a darker shade of red to support the kind of brutal tone both the character & the movie was going for.
I like how it looks in pretty much everything except the actual movie. It looks great in the game, in-person, set photos, and even in Civil War. But the actual movie Homecoming suit looks like a gross uncanny valley suit with how touched up it is with CGI.
Great video as always mate! Definitely love this suit minus the black lines which I can take them or leave them tbh mate. But overall I love the stark suit and wish too that it had stuck around alot longer in the trilogy. Wouldn't have minded the mark 4 spider armor though ngl. I too, have always loved the Civil War/Homecoming suit, although I think it looks better in Homecoming since they used practical versions of the suit rather than just CGI’d it like in Civil War… regardless. I agree that the suit has always been awesome.

I like how the logo looks to portray the shape of one of those blank heads in an empty profile picture, representing the man in Spider-Man, and the disconnected legs look like the tingling spider sense emanating from it. I know people shit on the logo a lot but I dig it for what it represents
I played all of Marvel's Spiderman with this suit, even though I'm not a huge fan of MCU Spidey. The suit itself just looks really nice.
I think running the blue lines you talked about around the seams would have been neat to imply that the seams are reinforced.

I always loved this suit and I always wondered why people hated it
I know this might be controversial, but I kind of like the far from home suit better than homecoming. The black accents make the design look sleek, and I love the way the black wraps around the glove, similar to TASM1. That and the black is kind of a fun nods to Steve Ditko’s original design. My only knit picks with the suit is the boot design is carried over from homecoming, and isn’t consistent with the arms. That and the copied and pasted the back design to the front, instead of something creative.
this suit was the best mcu type suit that spider-man could get, but to me the best suit Tom's spider needed was the final suit in nwh, it's so faithful to the comics and it looked like i was seeing a isolated spider-man movie, not a spider-man in mcu movie
Spider-Man PS4 is the biggest spider man game series ever, I don’t think anybody would be surprised that they added movie lenses, and even made it more expressional then Homecoming lenses

This suit is a good representation of modernization to a classic suit but done correctly
It’s my favorite suit overall. Yeah, you can critique the black strips and the techie spider logos but it just nails the colors like you said I’ve never been a big fan of the raised webbing in the Raimi films. I really like the webbing on this costume. There’s dimension there without have to rely on the raised webs. If the suit was just cleaned up a bit it would be perfect.

My issue with the suit is mainly the webbing it's so thin that you can't see it half the time on top of the movie CGI washing out the colors it basically makes it look like there is no webbing

probably because when people say "WAAAH ITS OVERDESIGNED" i say "oh cool a new spiderman suit" like... its spiderman, can we all just accept all of his suits are at minimum passable?-
I respect ur opinion but I'm one of those people. Just feels like the MCU is too afraid to be itself and dives into the overly-tech aesthetic. The raimi and tasm suits didn't have to rely on it and they're better off for it in my opinion. I don't like a single MCU Spider-Man suit including the one at the end of NWH, but I can agree they are passable with the exception of Iron Spider. Sadly, night monkey is my favorite

My solution to fix the Homecoming suit:
-Remove the blue lines entirely
-Make the web patterns more vibrant
-Make the back logo more round and less blocky
-No black portions on the belt section like the NWH Upgraded Suit, instead make it surround the top of the belt.
It's just the tick for a logo with the unnecessary lines that really bug 😉 me like a small itch that might not be extremely irritating, but it drives you insane eventually
